The Kpop Otaku's Dream

The theme of this promoting season is the leisurely beginning of the spring season.

I follow the stylists who dress me into a loose fitting whiteshirt and blue jeans with dark shoes. Right now If one were to look up the definition of the boyfriend look you'd find me to be the perfect example.

The lights and reflectors made the studio quite bright. Massaging my eyes trying to adjust to the brightness. One of the assistants runs over to me with a script with various red lines and changes made to it. It appears that they completely reworked the script since Director Cho decided to use me.

He motions me over and I follow, " Dylan, the original Idea behind today's shoot was going to be a day out with an everyday family. But after seeing you, I got inspired. We changing things and will be making this a dual shot add. On the one side you'll have a young family and on the other you will be playing a young man falling in love with a girl. Yours will air in the day and in the evening we will air the second part. You will be doing the voice over first and the family part will be like the after story." He continues explaining the concept he came up with.

Before we start shooting, he asks " Do you know how to follow a camera?"

I shake my head and say "Most of my experience comes from training with coaches"

He exhales in relief before explaining "Just relax and imagine that this is you in your everyday life. And try not to drift too far from the camera. The sense of the lense is a skill we have from birth. I have confidence in you!"

Looks like I've gained myself another admirer.

*Action*

In the special subdued light, my features are magnified.

My long legs moving in perfect rhythm with the camera. I Pull out a phone, and lean against the car and take pictures of a blonde female model whose running around in a field of reeds.

"The best moments in life is fleeting, be there to remember it"

I smile at the blank screen and the model comes over to look at what I have shot. Playfully I hide the the phone up high and she tries to grab it.

I playfully tap on the steering wheel as I listen to music and drive the carthrough various locations, the beach, the forest the snow.

" Everyday is an adventure"

I'm on a hill and the model has her back faced towards me, I smile as if I just found what I was looking for. In the natural light of the setting sun, I stand and admire the view.

"Smile for tomorrow. Toyota"

*Cut!*

"Perfect Dylan, I'm really jealous of your good-looks." Director Cho shouts

I laugh awkwardly, he might seem all kind and goofy. But his a real stickler it took us 8 hours to shoot 3 scenes. I learned a lot today. Yeah I had teachers who taught me how to draw upon my emotions and how to express them believably on camerabut nothing beats the real thing.

"Thank you for the hard work" I bow and greet the staff.

I make my way to the waiting area as Yuri-noona is busy dealing with all the miscellaneous issues before the final shoot.

I take out my phone to check up on my messages, and I a text from Irene.

Baechu: How did the audition go? Fighting!

It's been 5 hours since the message, I decide to call her.

*Ring* *Ring

"Hello?" A female voice comes from the receiver

"Baechu, were you busy?" I ask

Sound of the wind is disturbing the clarity of the call, "No, we just hand dinner after practice. So I was just laying on bed. How was the audition"

"I got the role. More like I just finished my first role" I say.

"What?"

"Crazy thing, the audition and the actual shoot was the same day. It was pretty intense"

She grows excited, "Seriously!?So what was it for?"

"A CF (Commercial) for a car company. I even did a voice over"

"I'm jealous. You going to be famous!" She teases

"How does it feel to be dating a future Hallyu Star?"

"Not that impressive to be honest. I could do better"

"Probably" I laugh.

We chat for a bit and then I promise to bring her pizza tomorrow. Feeling bad that all she's had to eat this week is sweet potatoes and salads. It's good to have a cheat meal every now and then. Besides she barely weighs anything at the moment.

Hanging up, I pick up one of the magazines from the table and start reading a random article on Lee Hyori.

Not long thereafter, I hear the heels of a female coming closer and lift my head in the direction of the sound where I see a tall female with an oval face and oriental features coming my way. Her hair is cut short, which shapes her face nicely. Looking at her up close she's really really gorgeous , much more than the blonde female model I was working with. She gives off the vibe of someone kinda mysterious but sweet at the same time. She looks really familiar, but where have I seen her before?

In her hands are two coffees. She hands me one, "I saw you over here in the cold and thought you'd need one"

"Thank you" I say as I take the coffee from her hand.

"Long day ?" She asks

"Yeah it's my first time on a set. I was really nervous"

She takes a sip and says, "You did pretty well, I was watching"

"You think?" I ask rhetorically. "And your day, how was yours?"

She answers, "Pretty much the same, I got to try on alot of outfits though"

"You are a model?"

"Don't I look like one?" She laughs

"No no, I just..."

She takes a seat next to me, and pushes me lightly.

"I'm kidding man. I'm the spokesmodel actually. We will be seeing each other often from now on"

"Nice to meet you , uhm...."

She realizes that I still don't know her name so she proceeds to say, "Sorry I haven't introduced myself yet. It happens quite often you know, sometimes I just completely forget to introduce myself"

She reaches out with her hand, "Hi there, I'm Im Jin-ah and you are?"

'Im Jin-ah'

DID SHE JUST SAY Im Jin-ah

Everything clicks.

Now that I know her name everything just fits.

The cold face that is betrayed by her approachable behavior.

She's Im Jin-ah !
