The Legend of Min Hong

Chapter 172: Just The Tip Would Suffice

Kun Chao received a backlash from it as his heart trembled slightly in fear, but none of it showed in his facial expression as his guts also churned slightly…

Everything only happened within ten seconds with Min Hong retaliating within one second of it…

To Kun Lin who was standing to the side, she suspected nothing and only thought Min Hong and her brother were just having a staring contest

[Author's Thoughts : Fork! I cringe at how lame this sounds, sorry people…],

but only the duo who were involved in it would ever know they just had a brief collision…

"Alright, since you have settled things here and also disrespected me in front of others whilst destroying my home in the process, how do you plan on compensating me asides the repairs you will have to make?"

Kun Chao spoke out in a calm, collected and flat manner as Min Hong simply raised his hand and gestured towards the entrance as he replied;

"Just a five minutes' walk with me would make up for that…" He said whilst smiling at the expressionless Kun Chao…

Kun Chao then approached the exit as he looked back to the Lao Shi duo that just had their confidence choked by Min Hong and could only shake his head as he left with Min Hong whilst Kun Lin simply tagged along about five steps behind them…

"So what is it that is so valuable or important to me that you barged into my apartment?" Kun Chao asked…

"All in the name of the mission, otherwise, why would someone like you stoop so low to be found in the midst of lowly country bumpkins like these and be forced to live in such a crappy place?"

Though Min Hong casually made that statement, the Kun siblings had a drastic change in expression when they heard it as they tactically retreated five steps away from Min Hong…

Kun Lin looked around as if in search of something or someone, but when she didn't find anything out of the ordinary she shook her head sideways at Kun Chao, but the moment she did so, her eyes dilated as her pupils shrunk to a pinhole…

Kun Chao also felt a dangerous sensation creeping up his back as he quickly turned around, only to find Min Hong who had already pointed the tip of his 'soul slayer blades' at Kun Chao's neck…

Kun Chao's heart skipped two beats as his body froze in shock before he broke out in cold sweat…

He didn't even turn his head to look at his sister, he only shifted his vision for a split blink and Min Hong had already covered a five meters distance and still had time to even pull out his sword and actually point it at him…

It was at this point a light breeze brushed Kun Chao's face and he got an answer to the question he was just about to ask his knowledge… He knew what that breeze was…

It was the breeze that was supposed to announce Min Hong's arrival, but instead, Min Hong had arrived, unannounced by the breeze that was supposed to accompany his movement and momentum…

"Such insane speed! Can that be truly achievable by a 13 year ol-"

Kun Chao's train of thoughts was cut short by Min Hong's next action… Min Hong who had achieved his aim then stowed away his sword as he spoke;

"Don't worry, I could care less of whatever mission you are currently on…"

Min Hong turned his back to Kun Chao which was an unspoken show of trust and welcoming gesture between expert cultivators.

Being the caliber of the person he is, Kun Chao obviously caught on the gesture as he relaxed himself and signaled his sister who had already pulled out an unfurled whip to keep it and relax…

"I played all of my cards right and was as subtle as I have always been, so how come you were able to discover us?"

Kun Chao walked over as they all continued their walk, whilst Min Hong spoke:

"The first time I suspected it was at the entrance selection exams… You both were the only siblings to have ranked one after another in the first round…"

"Whilst that might be coincidental or probable in the first round, repeating the same thing in the second round gave you away…"

"After all, if you do the calculation and find the probability of that happening after crossing every student to another and using the difficulty of getting into the top 10, and even taking higher positions, you will realize your chances were nigh non-existent…"

"Then you guy went on to take the 3rd and 4th positions overall…"

"It was at that moment that I suspected both of you actually planned to stay close to each other on the rankings, so as to fall into the same district…"

"I bet she is even stronger than you are, and she's just intentionally fooling around to fool people into losing their guard around her and ignore her…."

"Only in the ignorance of such people can an assassin build his escape plan…"

Min Hong explained as he glanced towards Kun Lin when he reached the latter part of his statement…

"The second was the conversation you had with your sister on the day my Fei Qing was challenging an outer court disciple…"

Min Hong said it casually, but Kun Chao on the other hand was scared beyond his bowel could withstand and nearly crapped himself…

The reason he acted so theatrically, was because the conversation Min Hong was talking about was something they did via voice transmission…

But was there anyone in existence who could do that? Even Min Hong himself at this point was not aware of what he had just done…

Thus, in a bid to confirm that he was just overthinking everything, Kun Chao asked; "Erm… Would you mind telling me what it is you heard…

I'm not telling you to expose the entire ice bag, just the tip would suffice…?"

Min Hong obviously didn't know the particular reason Kun Chao was concerned about what it was that he heard…
