The Legendary Pseudo-villain
Chapter 144 - The Torture!
"Y-you! You dare lay your hands on a mecha-suit?!" The man tried to warn and scare Hecathe, however, this was something that would hardly ever work with Hecathe since there weren't really many things that could scare Hecathe.
For Hecathe, even death was not scary enough. It was certainly a bit disappointing and shocking, but it was still not a scary event. This was also the reason why he was shocked and disappointed to know that he had died and was now in Alphius's body but even then, he was not scared of the fact that he had died.
With a chuckle that sounded as if the man was mocking the mecha-suit, Hecathe raised his head and responded with a tone that sounded as if he was amused and offended at the same time, "I don't discriminate. I lay hands on everything that walks."
The mecha-suit gulped as he heard this and he was left a little shocked.
Marvin and LeiLei also looked to be a little taken back as they heard this and after the second of shock had passed, the two started to laugh under their breaths.
However, Hecathe didn't bother with their snickering too much as he faced the mecha-suit.
He took a calm step forward and the mecha-suit unconsciously crawled back as he suddenly felt intimidated.
"What the hell are you trying to do?!" The mecha-suit cried out with a frown as he glared at Hecathe and Hecathe simply smiled as he shrugged his shoulders.
"I'm just trying to get some answers out of you. It's nothing personal, buddy."
"..." The mecha-suit surely seemed to be taking it personally.
"Sir, if there is any help that you need, I'm always here," LeiLei added with a smile that looked rather wicked.
Hecathe took another step forward towards the mecha-suit but said nothing more and the mecha-suit was left confused and worried as he crawled back a bit more.
Marvin and LeiLei gulped as they looked behind the mecha-suit and saw some guests that had been secretly invited by Hecathe, however, the mecha-suit himself didn't realize that there were hungry guests behind him.
"Why are you looking for the boy?" Hecathe once again asked the question that he wanted to get an answer to.
The mecha-suit was still persistent as he crawled another step back, but this time, his muscles suddenly tensed up as if he felt that there was something behind him.
"Look behind yourself and think about it again," Hecathe sighed as he spoke, "Whether you want to answer the question or not, you can decide it after you meet the friends that are here to greet you."
The mecha-suit gulped as he heard this and just like Hecathe had instructed the man, he slowly turned his head to look at the creatures that were standing right behind him.
"Aaa!" The mecha-suit let out a scream as he immediately threw his hands at the creature and tried to get those growling mutants away from him.
"With us here, you cannot beat them," Hecathe spoke as he politely informed the man that escaping was out of the option, "Even if you try, you'll end up as nothing more than ground meat."
The mecha-suit looked to be disgusted by the crawling mutants that were trying to get closer to him.
One of the mutants got a bit too close to the mecha-suits leg as the creature started to smell the man's metallic shoe, however, the mecha-suit was clearly not satisfied with this and kicked the mutant away with force.
A simple kick was clearly enough to momentarily escape from a mutant, but it was not enough to kill the mutant.
The mutant that had been kicked, pushed itself off the ground and growled loudly as it tried to challenge the mecha-suit who had kicked it first.
"All you need to do is give me an answer and you won't have to deal with that nasty creature that wants to rip out your heart and eat it," Hecathe spoke with a small smile as he kept his eyes on the mecha-suit whose back was facing him.
The mecha-suit gulped once again as he heard this question and this time, he seriously considered the question and didn't outrightly refuse.
Hecathe could notice that there was a change in the mecha-suit this time and he decided to take this opportunity to persuade the mecha-suit into answering.
Hecathe crouched down on the ground right behind the mecha-suit as he asked with a soft voice, "Are you simply looking for your missing leader because you want to protect him, or are you trying to secretly kill him so that you can have all the power?"
The mecha-suit immediately snapped his head back to look at Hecathe in shock as he heard this question.
"W-Who are you?" The mecha-suit questioned anxiously and Hecathe simply flashed a smile as he responded.
"I'm somebody trying to help that boy."
LeiLei and Marvin had also heard the question that Hecathe had asked the man and they couldn't help but feel a bit shocked as well.
There was a single question that bothered both of them: Why would the mecha-suits try to secretly kill Alphius...?
The answer to that question was pretty simple. Alphius was the one controlling all the mecha-suits but he was very different from all the mecha-suits. He wasn't as violent as them and although he had also killed people, he did it for a righteous reason and not because he simply wanted to kill somebody.
Alphius had wanted to unite the world as one. He wanted to prove that everybody was equal but the mecha-suits wanted to take out their grudge for all the humiliation that they had suffered when they weren't this powerful.
With Alphius gone, the mecha-suits would be ruled by the generals who were mecha-suits as well. They would no longer have to force themselves to fit into the society and they wouldn't have to pretend to be nice either. They could do anything they wanted and slowly, they could take this world and rule over it.
At the moment, Alphius was on the run and even if he were to suddenly die, there would not be many people who would be suspicious of the mecha-suits for his death.
Even if the mecha-suit in front of Hecathe admitted that they were after Alphius because they wanted to secretly kill him, Hecathe wouldn't be shocked.
"What nonsense are you spouting?!" The mecha-suit shouted angrily at Hecathe.
Hecathe blinked as he heard this strong response that came a bit sudden.
"Why would we try to kill our leader?!" The mecha-suit grabbed Hecathe's collar and pulled him forward as he shouted at the man's face, "If we wanted to kill him, we would've never saved him from the three willows of spring!"
Hecathe gulped as he heard this and thought about it for a few seconds before he unconsciously nodded his head as he agreed with the man.
"You know nothing about us!" The mecha-suit cried out angrily, "You're nothing more than a conceited brat who knows nothing about us! You dare say that you want to help our leader?! Our leader is the best! How can you even compare to him?!"
Marvin and LeiLei flinched as they saw this turn of events.
The mecha-suit that was previously intimidated by Hecathe was now unhesitantly scolding him after hearing just a simple mindless question from Hecathe.
Hecathe grabbed onto the hands of the mecha-suit that was now choking him just a little with that tight grip around his collars.
"I dare you to say anything about our leader!" The mecha suit glared at Hecathe as he shouted.
Hecathe was silent for a few minutes but when the initial shock was over, he couldn't help but randomly laugh as if this situation was somehow funny to him.
However, although Hecathe found the situation funny, it was clear that the mecha-suit in front did not share the same feelings.
"You're laughing...?!" The mecha-suit questioned in disbelief and just as Hecathe opened his mouth to say something, the man lifted his fist and punched Hecathe, sending him flying backward.
LeiLei and Marvin immediately stepped back as they gulped after seeing Hecathe being punched that hard.
"Did he survive that...?" LeiLei asked in a low volume as cold sweat formed on her forehead.
"En~ He'll live," Marvin casually commented as he responded to the girl, "He had it coming. You should never touch a topic that is sensitive to the mecha-suits and their captain has always been such a topic for them. They are a bit too defensive over him."
"..."
Marvin has stated it as a fact and LeiLei couldn't help but believe his words.
For a second there, Hecathe almost felt as if he was about to go to the afterlife, however, when he opened his eyes, he felt that half of his face was paralyzed, but he knew that he was still alive.
"Should've had him take off his hand gear as well," Hecathe grabbed his jaw and gently tried to twist it back into place as he muttered, thinking to himself.
For Hecathe, even death was not scary enough. It was certainly a bit disappointing and shocking, but it was still not a scary event. This was also the reason why he was shocked and disappointed to know that he had died and was now in Alphius's body but even then, he was not scared of the fact that he had died.
