The Legendary Pseudo-villain

Chapter 3:Zelium Ultra Fury

"Anything else to report?" Hecathe clicked his tongue in a rather uninterested manner.

The young woman reluctantly nodded her head as she spoke up, "Our new Zelium product is ready for launch."

Hecathe suddenly leaned in forward on the table, "Now, That! That's great news! New product means more money. You should give me more news like this!"

"..."

"What product is it?" Hecathe questioned.

"The new product ready for Launch is the Zelium X7 glasses." The woman answered.

Hecathe, "What can it do?"

The woman smiled enthusiastically as she continued, "The right eye shows you the GPS data of any place on earth. It can be adjusted and resized to fit in with your main view. It also has a sensor for approaching danger. This can be useful to alert people in case of a traffic accident. The design is made to be thin and stylish. It's comfortable to wear and easy to use."

The meeting went on for another thirty minutes as the details about the new product were discussed and needed marketing changes were made.

Hecathe would be lying if he said that he had listened to everything. The specifications of the product didn't interest him as much as the price of the product did. He cared about the profit and the satisfaction of the customers. As long as the customers were happy to spend all their money on the new products, he didn't care even if his company were to sell Zelium poop packed in pretty boxes.

In fact, even if his company were to sell pure Zelium poop, there would still be willing buyers. After all, even though they had market competition, it was negligible.

Zuex was at the top of the Zelium industry and there was no way any other company would be able to overthrow them, After all, how could anyone ever even dream of overthrowing the first manufacturers of Zelium?

Zuex owned more than ninety percent of the Zelium natural mines that existed in this world. The rest of the few percent that they didn't own was nothing more than junk in the eyes of Hecathe since it was impure Zelium that had a lot more side effects and was fatal for humans in every way possible.

Zuex not only owned almost all of the Zelium mines but it was also the first company that had found and started to industrialize Zelium, actually, this statement was somewhat wrong. The one who found and industrialized Zelium was not the company, in fact, even this company was created by the same person that had industrialized Zelium.

Hecathe Osborne, the President of Zuex was the legend who was printed in every history book that existed. At the young age of fourteen, he had gone out on a vacation with his parents. On the way, their car broke and they had to stop.

At that time, they thought this was a sign of bad luck but who would've known that this was the greatest luck that would ever befall upon them? Just because of a broken car, they came across a bright green shiny stone. This stone was a resource called Zelium that had never been found before.

His mother took the stone home and since she was a research scientist, it was only natural that she tried to understand what this newly found stone was and her findings truly horrified her.

It was a dangerous natural resource with infinite potentials and abilities. It could make the wildest dreams of a human come true. The whole world could be destroyed with this one stone and countries could go into war to covet this resource. The mere thought of this possibility scared her so much that she decided to hide this information from the whole world.

If Humans didn't know such a thing existed, they could continue to live peacefully in ignorance.

However, the more you try to hide something from the world, the more you attract attention towards it.

A few years later, who knew what had happened behind the scenes, but her twenty-one-year-old son, Hecathe, suddenly opened a new company called Zuex and started to industrialize the new resource that had been named Zelium by his mother who had suddenly disappeared from the eyes of the public.

People said that she had already died, but this was yet to be proven since no official report of her death had been given.

At first, people were reluctant to buy anything that was made out of Zelium, but for Hecathe, it was not difficult to lure in greedy people.

Just show them the cheesy benefits, make it look cool and the consumers were willing to buy it.

After the first person had bought it, the second would also follow soon and with immense advertisement done right, there would be hordes of people who would want to buy and test it out.

When the promises that came with the product were met, the company saw huge success, and just like that, Zuex became the fastest growing industry that later transformed into a powerhouse and money magnet.

Hecathe became the youngest trillionaire and his company naturally became the industrial giant that stood at the top of the economy.

So to sum it all up: Even if his company were to start selling high-priced Zelium poop, there would still be buyers.

After the meeting was over, Hecathe didn't waste any time as he stood up and left the place with his secretary following behind, reading out his schedule for the day.

"You have another meeting with the north divisional sales manager at 9 a.m. and after that, we have to go and check out the test run of the latest Zelium ultra fury-"

"The ultra fury?" Hecathe interjected

His secretary nodded as he repeated, "Zelium ultra fury."

"Cancel that one."

"Eh?! Why?"

"I already did the test run on my way over here," Hecathe answered.

Hecathe smiled and said nothing as he took out his car keys from his pocket and headed for the private lift of his company that could only be accessed and operated by either Hecathe or his secretary.

"But that's a new product! It hasn't passed all the test runs yet!" The man sounded shocked and worried.

Hecathe pressed the underground button on the elevator panel and the door closed before opening just a few seconds later, indicating that they had reached the floor they had wanted to go to. This elevator was also Zelium powered and hence, it was a lot faster than the non-zelium elevators that would take forever to travel from one floor to another.

When the doors of the elevator opened, they were greeted with the sight of the stylish black car that Hecathe had used to come here.

"Mr. Osborne!" His secretary cried out, "Driving a Zelium car that hasn't passed the tests is dangerous!!"

Hecathe smirked as he heard this, "I'm still alive aren't I?"

"..."

"It's quite good. It's more stable than the previous version. Even at a high speed, it's easier to control. I think the issues that came with the previous models have mostly been fixed."

His secretary had his eyes wide open in disbelief, "Mr. Osborne... You do know that testing it on the road is still illegal, right?"

Hecathe chuckled before opening the car door, "When the country runs on your money, do you really think it matters if I'm driving legally or not?"

"..." His secretary seemed to be thinking deeply about what he had said and Hecathe took this time to poke the secretary's forehead with his two fingers.

"I'm leaving." Hecathe got seated in the driver's seat and started the engine, making the car instantly hover above the ground.

"Wait!" His secretary snapped out of his thoughts, "Where are you going?"

"Home. I forgot my phone," Hecathe answered and without wasting another second, he took his leg off the brake pedal and the car had already disappeared from the secretary's sight.

"That really is fast..." The secretary mumbled as he looked at the afterimage of the car that had already driven away.

But now, there was one thing that was haunting this secretary's mind: When the country runs on your money, would driving illegally be considered legal? It's still illegal... Isn't it..? And since when the hell did the country start running on your money?!

This secretary loved his job and he respected his boss, treating him as the legend he was, however, if there was one thing he disliked about Hecathe, it would be the man's personality.

Hecathe, more or less, had the mindset of a dictator. He considered himself above the rest, however, it wasn't exactly a superiority complex but instead, it would be more accurate to call it a God complex.

This Legendary man who was mentioned along with other rather 'dead' legends was worlds different from them all. The quotes he said would certainly be published in the morning newspaper, but they definitely didn't deserve to be published there!

One such quote that the secretary could remember would be that time when the newspaper printed the words: "If I tried to remember the name of every person I met, I'm afraid that I'll jumble them up and forget my own so I'd rather not take chances." –Hecathe Osborne.
