The man was silent for a minute as he simply stared back at Hecathe in shock.

Hecathe had a proud smirk on his face as he waited for the man to properly answer his question this time.

"Look, boy, If you seriously manage to show us something we've never seen before and somehow get that permanent position, you can ask any question you want."

"I hope you don't go back on your promise," Hecathe responded with a dry chuckle.

The man scoffed as he nodded his head, "And you better not come back as a corpse."

This man seemed to have been really underestimating Hecathe and it wasn't shocking considering the fact that Hecathe didn't exactly look that powerful at this moment.

"Team C is going to have a fun time with you," The man commented and it almost sounded as if the man was mocking Hecathe and his confidence.

"Do you want to bet?" Hecathe questioned as he felt a little amused after seeing the man underestimate him to this level.

"Bet? What type of bet?"

"I don't really like the fact that you mages look down so much on hunters," Hecathe sighed as he spoke up, "So let us make a bet. If I manage to capture more mutants than the other teams, you follow my command."

The man clicked his tongue and responded, "You sound quite confident. I'll agree to the bet, but if you don't win it, you clean the guildhall today, okay?"

"It's a deal," Hecathe chuckled as he heard such a stupid condition, "But don't expect me to go easy on you once I win."

The man had a small smile on his face as he spoke, "You better not disappoint me, young boy."

Hecathe nodded his head but said nothing as he heard this since he found it a bit hard to understand if this man was underestimating him completely or just trying to push him to show his talent.

Well, it wasn't like he cared what this man was thinking either. To him, this guy was nothing more than an unimportant side character that would eventually be forgotten.

The guy led him towards a door, but instead of opening the door, he turned around and stepped aside as he instructed Hecathe, "Team C is ready to leave so you better hurry up."

Hecathe nodded his head as he understood the man's intention and walked forward to open the door right ahead.

"You're not even afraid?" The man muttered, sounding to be a bit amused.

"I would naturally not be," Hecathe responded with a smile as he opened the door and walked right in.

He entered a room that was rather small and at the same time also gave the illusion of being big. The walls, the ceiling, the ground and everything in the room had the same dark metallic grey colour which almost made it impossible to understand the depth of the room.

The only light in the room came from the design on the floor that was a bit complicated but good to look at.

Waiting inside the room were four other people who Hecathe guessed to be the other hunters and mages who were supposed to be with him on this mission.

Hecathe's eyes widened ever so slightly as he looked at the man who looked to be oddly familiar.

"You...!"

The man turned to look at Hecathe and smiled as he acknowledged him, "Well, I certainly didn't expect to see you here again. This must be fate."

Hecathe blinked as the shock took its own sweet time to settle in.

This was the same man who Hecathe had met when he first entered this city.

"The one with the human-dog!" Hecathe exclaimed as he couldn't remember the man giving his name.

The man chuckled as he nodded his head, "That's me, brother."

"You two know each other?" One of the women questioned and since she was wearing a jacket with the emblem of the golden fire, it wasn't hard to guess that she was probably a mage who was from this guild.

"We don't," Hecathe immediately responded with a frown.

"..."

The man chuckled as he nodded his head and agreed with Hecathe, "We don't know each other."

The woman looked to be confused as her eyebrows creased together after hearing this, however, she didn't bother questioning it anymore as she spoke, "It doesn't matter if you don't. Come over here."

Hecathe nodded his head and gulped as he made his way over to the center of the room where everyone else was standing, waiting for him.

The other two who would also be joining them on this mission looked to be a couple, but Hecathe could only cringe as he saw the thin pale girl clutching onto the guy's arm and flattering him nonstop. The guy was someone who seemed to have clearly forgotten his shirt at home as he flexed his muscular body.

"Before we go, let me brief you on our mission today," The mage from the golden fire spoke up authoritatively as if she had said this thing a thousand times before, "I'm called Kelly and I would be overlooking Team C for today. Our mission today is to capture some mutants. If they are alive, it would be better but dead ones work as well. With that said, I don't really hope to see you guys going out of your way to catch some alive mutants. Remember that your safety is also important and although I'm guiding you for today, I have no responsibility to keep you alive. Whether you make it out alive or not is none of my business. Your life is in your own hands and I hope you remember that."

The others nodded as they heard this, indicating that they completely understood the woman.

"Now I think introductions are a big waste of time but since I'm tasked to do so, we can't continue unless you all introduce yourself," For some reason, Hecathe couldn't help but be impressed as he heard the woman's cold emotionless tone while speaking.

If he had been back in his own world and had met such a woman then he would have surely given her a job right away simply because he liked how professional yet casual she was.
