The Legendary Pseudo-villain

Chapter 61 - Think Fast

"The starting bid for this rare Dorgon egg is one million Lenix!" The auctioneer announced happily and someone soon raised their hand as they immediately placed a bid.

By eating this egg, a person would be able to gain the powers of a Dorgon and of course, this sounded really attractive to most of the people present here today.

Dorgon's were said to be the most powerful creatures in this world and for a human to possess all that power... It was simply unheard of.

"You know, time is running out," Hecathe sighed as he commented, "You better think fast, little emperor."

"Who the hell is little?! You're the one that's little! Your whole family is little!"

Hecathe chuckled as he shook his head and responded with an amused tone, "I doubt that."

"..."

"Two million Lenix placed by our lovely guest from seat 28!" The auctioneer announced happily as someone else placed a higher bid.

"What the hell is this human yelling?!" The dorgon inside the egg complained, "Does this imbecile think that my life is only worth his measly human currency?!"

"Looks like it," Hecathe yawned as he leaned back and closed his eyes, acting as if he couldn't be any less affected by the Dorgon's poor fate.

"Y-you! How can you think about sleeping right now?!" The Dorgon shouted and Hecathe acted as if he had suddenly gone deaf.

"Yah! You can hear me! Wake up, you rotten human!" The Dorgon kid continued, not losing hope even after being thoroughly ignored by Hecathe.

"Four million Lenix placed by our lovely customer up at seat 75!" The auctioneer continued as he called out.

"You're really going to ignore the great emperor like this?!" The dorgon sounded angry but at the same time, he also sounded to be panicking as he threatened Hecathe, "I'll curse you! If someone really eats me, my father is going to burn this place down! You can all just go to hell!"

"How can you be sure that I won't like that?" Hecathe smirked as he muttered as a response.

"..." The dorgon was silent for a few seconds as he was caught by surprise, "You wicked madman!"

Hecathe chuckled as he heard that but said nothing as a response.

"Five million Lenix offered by our beautiful guest sitting in seat 44!"

"I'm not joking around! I'm serious right now!" The Dorgon continued shouting, "I'll curse you! If you don't save me, you'll get your body ripped apart into sheds by those lowly mutants! Even your soul wouldn't be able to ever find peace!"

Hecathe opened his eyes as he heard something interesting but it was not the Dorgon, rather it was the auctioneer who had announced someone new joining the bidding war.

Seat 44... It was the woman who participated in a bidding war with Raven!

Most people seemed to suddenly have second thoughts as they saw this woman joining. They had already seen her bidding like crazy for that eternal flame so they naturally knew that she was not someone who they could easily beat.

"Ten million Lenix! Ten million Lenix placed by our amazing customer sitting up in seat 87!" The auctioneer sounded elated as he announced and Hecathe immediately looked up to see that Raven had also joined the bidding.

This... Was going to be interesting...

"You dumb bastard! Are you even listening to me! I told you to save me if you don't want to die in the worst possible manner!" The Dorgon continued on with his threats that hardly affected Hecathe.

"The Dorgon egg is not only good for you but it is also delicious!" The auctioneer commented happily with a chuckled, "People who have previously eaten it have stated that the meat was delicious enough to make them ascend to godhood for a few minutes! Such a euphoric experience, I'm sure none of you would ever want to miss out on it."

"Would you say that you are tasty?" Hecathe questioned casually.

"Huh?" The Dorgon was once again caught by surprise, "What the hell are you thinking about?! You want to cook me too?! Over my dead body!"

"Well... If I want to eat you, it would naturally be over your dead body," Hecathe stated as a matter of fact, making the dorgon feel a little dumb, "So tell me. I'm curious to know if the man is lying or not."

"I-I don't know!" The Dorgon stuttered as he replied, "I mean... Probably...?"

"Why probably?" Hecathe asked with a small smirk.

"Because I'm the great emperor that rules this world! How can my meat not taste as grand as my bloodline?!"

Hecathe couldn't help but find this response a bit funny and he immediately decided to tease the dorgon a bit, "Well I guess, I'll try and cook you as well."

"You vicious bastard! How can you even think about doing that to an unborn child?!" The Dorgon seemed to have believed Hecathe as he seriously tried to save himself.

"Then why don't you ask me nicely?" Hecathe yawned once again as he casually stated the easy way out for the dorgon.

"I-I would never! If you save me then I'll thank you out of the humbleness of my heart but I have no reason to treat you as an equal!"

"I never asked you to treat me as an equal," Hecathe interjected as he stated, "How could we ever be equals?"

"Right! You agree with me!" This time the Dorgon sounded a bit happy as he exclaimed, "I am born a superior species! We can never be equals!"

"That's right, we can never be equals so I don't expect you to treat me as such," Hecathe sighed as he looked at the egg with his half-opened eyes, making it almost look as if he was glaring at the egg, "I want you to treat me as your master."

"..."

Hecathe didn't look to be hesitant at all as he stated such a ridiculous condition. For him, it was quite normal to expect something like that since the saved Dorgon would indirectly become his pet.

"You dare say that again?!" The Dorgon sounded angry and there was no fear laced along with his words this time.
