The Legendary Pseudo-villain

Chapter 80 - He Left

"Where is he?" Hecathe asked as he looked at the woman.

"The tenant?" The woman tilted her head in confusion as she asked.

Hecathe nodded his head as he confirmed and waited for the woman to give him an answer.

"He left with them," The woman shrugged her shoulder as she answered casually, making it seem as if this was not a big deal at all.

"Left with them?" Hecathe repeated her words with a bit of confusion.

"They came and asked for him. I called him down and then he simply left," The woman explained, "He hasn't come back after that."

"Oh..." Hecathe muttered as he picked up the sandwich again and continued to eat.

He had not met that other tenant yet but from all the things that he had heard about that man, it seemed as if he was going to be trouble.

He was probably a real hunter who worked for the three willows of spring and that in itself made him a dangerous person for Hecathe to come across.

"Sir, you still didn't explain how you know Alphius!" Zail exclaimed as he looked at Hecathe curiously.

"When did I say I was going to explain?" Hecathe asked back as he clicked his tongue.

"..."

"There's nothing to talk about," Hecathe sighed as he spoke somewhat honestly, "I just somehow came to know him and it wasn't my choice but we became somewhat close."

So close that they had the same body.

The Landlady couldn't help but chuckle as she heard this and her cheeks turned even more red making Zail's face cringe up.

"Young man," The woman spoke up with a smile as she looked at Hecathe, "I have to say, I'm thankful that you're helping me, but if you ever need help with Alphius, you can always come to me."

"Are you going to ask me to pay for your assistance?" Hecathe's eyes narrowed down on the woman as he questioned.

"Of course, I would," The woman chuckled as she confirmed Hecathe's thoughts, "Nothing comes for free. If you want my help, you'll have to pay for it but you can rest assured that I'll be willing to give you a discount."

"..."

Hecathe chuckled as he nodded his head and responded, "Thank you for your offer, but there's nothing you can do for me right now."

Hecathe quickly finished eating the chicken sandwich and grabbed the water before heading back up the stairs towards his room.

As soon as he opened the door, he was greeted by the little Dorgon that sat in the middle of the cleanroom.

"You really cleaned it?" Hecathe muttered with a bit of surprise as he looked around, "Good job."

"Yes, I did!" The Dorgon beamed proudly, "Now where is my breakfast?"

"Your breakfast?" Hecathe closed the door after him and put the water cup down as he spoke, "You can have this water. I already told you to get your own breakfast, didn't I?"

"..." The Dorgon was left speechless as he heard this, but Hecathe didn't seem to be too bothered by it as he made his way to the table and sat down in front of it before raising his hand and contacting Xanie through the QMS.

"What's going on?" He sent her a voice message without bothering to say any useless greetings first.

The Dorgon blinked a few times as he kept his eyes on the water.

He really found it a bit hard to believe that his master had only prepared a glass of water for him and that too, a glass that was not completely filled!

"Captain, I don't know," Xanie's response came fast and the girl sounded a bit worried as she sent another message, "Someone seemed to have tipped you off. They know that you're in Ocasia."

Hecathe gritted his teeth and cursed under his breath as he heard this.

"Captain, you must be careful not to get caught. Lay low for a few days and don't let anyone see you.

Hecathe took a deep breath in as he closed his eyes and calmed himself down before asking, "And what about the other thing? The one that I asked you to look into."

Xanie gulped as she sent a reply, "Captain, you were certainly in your room. There is no way you would have gone out that day, but..."

Hecathe waited for the woman to continue but when he got no continuation message, he clicked his tongue as he sent her a message, pressing her to continue, "But what?"

"Your mecha-suit was missing that day," Xanie spoke in a single breath and Hecathe's eyes widened ever so slightly.

Hecathe took a minute to process this information through his brain and Xanie sent him another message.

"It was there the next day so there was no official report made and you were not informed."

"So the mecha suit went missing for a day and returned on its own?" Hecathe scoffed as he questioned, "You guys really thought it was normal for something like that to happen?! Even a child would be able to see that there was something wrong! You should have reported to me immediately!"

"I'm sorry, Captain." Xanie apologized even though it wasn't exactly her fault.

Hecathe sighed as he rubbed his head and with just a single glance, one would be able to see that the man was in a bad mood.

"It makes sense now..." Hecathe muttered to himself as he closed the QMS, feeling that he would not be able to control his anger if he kept on listening to all the troubles that had been caused.

"W-what happened, Master?" The Dorgon was a bit cautious as he asked, clearly noticing that it was probably not the best idea to get on the man's nerves at this moment.

Hecathe clicked his tongue as his eyes narrowed down on the Dorgon and he took a minute to ask, "If someone stole your clothes and pretended to be you while murdering someone who was your friend's father, what would you do?"

"Eh?" The question was certainly out of the blue and it took a whole minute for the Dorgon to understand it and give a response, "I would probably kill that imposter...?"

"Kill?" Hecathe tilted his head and looked to be a little amused as he smirked, "That's it?"

"..."

"No torture?"
