The Little Superman of Hogwarts
#101 - Chapter 101 [Ginny's Doubts]
Just as Malfoy left, his father, Lucius Malfoy, appeared. He took a deep look at Hermione, said nothing, and then departed.
Harry was fine, but Ginny was a bit bewildered. Although she didn't know why, she guessed the reason Malfoy left without a word was because of the Miss Hermione standing before her.
She found it a bit absurd that an adult would back down because of a 13-year-old witch's gaze. What could that possibly mean? Moreover, the Malfoy family's behavior was so arrogant! She had deeply understood from her brothers how foul-mouthed the Malfoys were usually!
But both the elder and younger Malfoys retreated because of Hermione. Were they afraid of Hermione? But what made Hermione so intimidating?
Her mind was filled with questions.
Cree watched quietly from a distance. During the earlier chaos, the elder Malfoy had subtly slipped a diary into Harry's pile of books, but Harry directly threw all the books into Ginny's trunk...
Thus, Harry, completely unaware, brought a small disaster to Ginny—he was, of course, acting out of good intentions, hoping to help the Weasley family members.
The elder Malfoy originally intended to take the diary back and put it back into Harry's books, but Hermione's gaze made Malfoy temporarily change his mind and leave directly.
Cree originally wanted to take the diary out and study it himself, but he thought of the wand shop incident and suddenly had a 'respect others' fate, let go of the helping others complex' anti-Savior mentality, so he retreated at the speed of light.
That evening, Hermione's family and Cree, a total of four people, had a great meal together at London's finest seafood restaurant. They got along fairly well; at least Cree displayed the skilled social sense he had developed over two lifetimes, not making Hermione disgusted.
The next day at ten o'clock in the morning, Cree appeared punctually at King's Cross Station: "Platform 9 ¾".
Hermione arrived shortly after, and the two of them sat down early in a compartment, then set up a display, putting a table full of snacks and sunflower seeds.
They waited until the last five minutes when the Weasley family arrived late...
Sure enough! Harry and Ron failed to appear!
It was still the house-elf Dobby who cast a spell on the platform, causing it to lose its ability to be crossed through.
Just as Mr. and Mrs. Weasley were wondering why Harry and Ron hadn't come in, the starting whistle sounded, and they hurriedly sent the children onto the train, preparing to go back and see what was going on.
Ginny dragged her huge suitcase, slowly walking along the train until she passed Cree and Hermione's compartment and stopped.
"Miss Hermione?" Ginny was a little shy, but also a little afraid. She said to Hermione, "May I sit here? My suitcase is too heavy, and my brothers are all ahead."
"Of course!" Hermione took the initiative to clear the snacks from the side seat, making room.
Ginny and Hermione were both girls and had some common topics, but Hermione's approach was more "straightforward," while Ginny seemed more "gentle." Cree mediated the atmosphere from the side.
The awkward thing was that Ginny didn't seem to notice Cree at first, and only after she sat down did she realize that the wizard opposite her was Cree...
It was a bit awkward. She clearly disliked this guy who caused Percy to be expelled, but how was he everywhere? And Hermione and Cree's relationship was unexpectedly good.
The three chatted intermittently. Hermione briefly introduced the situation at the school to Ginny, especially some things about the girls' dormitory—the Weasley family was all male, so they lacked similar knowledge.
Cree interjected occasionally, indeed bored to the core... He felt it was time to bring the 400 km/h high-speed train set to replace the new express.
When Cree went to the 'Five Grains Reincarnation Place' midway, Ginny suddenly asked, "Sister Hermione, I want to ask why Malfoy is afraid of you? Is it just because you are the top student in the school?"
"There are some reasons, but it's not convenient for me to tell you directly," Hermione said after considering her words. "Simply put, it's because I'm powerful enough that they have to do this!"
"Are you very powerful? If you fought my brother Percy, who would win?" Ginny thought Hermione's so-called power referred to higher combat strength.
"I think I should be able to win, but the power I'm talking about is not about combat strength," Hermione explained. "You have to learn to think with more systematic logic.
In terms of combat strength, Voldemort may not be the strongest in Britain, but ten years ago, he still caused devastating damage to the magical world, which has not yet fully recovered."
"Why?" Ginny continued to ask.
"Because this involves the issue of rules. The main generals of the warring parties do not necessarily have to be the strongest on both sides; what they compete for is two systems."
Hermione explained, "I am a student of Hogwarts, this is the first point, which means that I am protected by Hogwarts. Malfoy, without using dark magic, can hardly cause me harm."
"Second, I am the top student in the grade and Professor McGonagall's darling—you understand the meaning of this word, right!"
"Of course!" Ginny said thoughtfully.
"Third, I have several very powerful friends at Hogwarts, such as Christian..."
In the end, the two became happy chatting, and by the time Cree returned to the compartment, Ginny and Hermione had become good girlfriends.
The events after getting off the train were uneventful. The first-year freshmen still walked by the lake, and the second-year freshmen began to ride in the horseless carriages—which were actually Thestrals.
Amidst complaints, the new wizards arrived late, and the Sorting Ceremony barely went smoothly.
Cree had no impression of the class of '92 freshmen, the only one being the little loli Ginny.
Ginny was unexpectedly sorted into Gryffindor. Until the Sorting Ceremony and dinner were completely over, Harry and Ron did not appear in the Great Hall.
At this moment, Snape happened to catch the two illegally entering.
"I've been waiting for you two, ready to hear you two explain why you didn't take the school train," Snape said grimly.
Severus Snape stood before them, his black robes billowing in the cool breeze. He was gaunt, with sallow skin, a hooked nose, and greasy black hair that fell to his shoulders. The expression on his face told Harry that he and Ron were in a very bad situation.
"Come with me," Snape said.
Harry and Ron didn't dare to look at him, following Snape up the steps and into the empty, echoing entrance hall lit by torches. The smell of food wafted from the Great Hall, but Snape led them away from the warmth and light, down the narrow stone steps to the underground classroom.
