Chapter 11: The Molin Hercules

Jon did not dare to use Elemental Leap Wave Slash because doing so would cause him to shift far away from Iris. He was unaware of Iris’ strength and did not know if she would be able to block an attack from an elite Molin monster on her own.

If Iris were killed, Jon would be forcefully teleported back to the water elemental plane. This crusade mission would be a failure, and God knew when the next time he would be summoned by a mage would be. It could be tomorrow, or it could never happen again.

“Elemental Spirit Shock!”

Jon used Elemental Spirit Shock, but it was not directed at the enemy he was facing. Instead, it was directed towards the Level 7 Elite Molin Assassin attacking Iris.

The Level 7 elite Molin monster was temporarily stunned, and Iris took the opportunity to use her magic:

“Ice, gather, take form and transform these frozen blades into spears. Bestow upon me supreme power, Frost Void Ice Spear!”

A cold aura surged out from Iris’s body, like the eye of a storm. The surrounding ground was instantly frozen and a layer of frost appeared. Icy thorns circled around Iris like a living snake, raising their heads as they charged towards the Molin assassin.

“Whoosh!”

The Molin Assassin’s body was pierced through by the icy thorns. At the same time, its internal organs were rapidly frozen.

No notification rang in his ears to signal the completion of the mission—it seemed that assisting did not count. He did not know how many level fragments and battle aura type advanced fragments the elite-level Molin Assassin would give her. It was truly a waste to just let her kill it like that.

“Clang!”

The sound of weapons clashing between Jon and the Level 8 Molin Assassin rang throughout. Since his opponent was an assassin who did not specialize in strength, after a short clash of weapons, it was sent flying by the tremendous force of Jon’s sword.

Jon stepped forward and slashed once more. The Molin Assassin somersaulted in the air to block, but he could not muster any strength in the air and was smashed to the ground by Jon.

“Pfft!”

The Molin Assassin was heavily injured and spat out blood. It did not have the strength to get up from the ground, and Jon stabbed it again.

“Ding! Mission completed. Level 8 Elite Molin Assassin killed. Level fragment +120 obtained. Battle aura type advanced fragment +10 extracted from the target’s body.”

“Don’t waste your mana to kill the enemy. You just need to protect yourself or assist me in battle at critical moments.”

Jon instructed Iris.

“Bang!”

The sound of the door suddenly closing was heard. Iris turned around and her expression changed.

The entrance of the cave was blocked. The Molin monsters had cut off their escape route.

“Click! Clack! Creak!”

Two Herculean Molin monsters walked out from behind the door and looked at Iris with malicious eyes.

They were both over 1.8 meters tall, and their ugly fangs that protruded out of their mouths gave off a fiercely cold light.

The virtual screen marked them as:

Molin Hercules, Level 10.

Description: A monster that is known for its strength. Its physical capabilities tower over those of same-leveled creatures.

The clamor did not stop, and dense footsteps sounded from all directions. From the left tunnel, from the right tunnel, and from the tunnel up above that Jon had not noticed at first, nearly 50 demonic forest monsters walked out and looked at Jon from a distance.

“Squeak squeak squeak! Last time I let you luckily escape; I didn’t expect you to come back, Iris.”

Poking its cane, an old Molin monster separated the demons and walked forward, cruelly laughing at Iris.

“It knows you?”

Jon asked Iris curiously.

Iris’s expression changed drastically when she heard this. She had grown up in a wealthy noble family, so it was impossible for her to have such a person amongst the ranks of her friends . This was also the first time she had brought a personal guard on a mission against this Molin monster tribe, how could they know her?

Unless someone had leaked her information to them!

Then, when she thought about the serious errors in the information her family received regarding this tribe..

it was not difficult to guess that it was a “family member” who had plotted against her. That person had provided her family with false information, and then through various doings, they had gotten Iris to accept this mission and lead the team here…

Iris’s expression worsened more and more. Perhaps she had thought of some terrifying possibility.

Ignoring Iris’s thoughts, Jon saw the description of the old Molin monster on the virtual screen:

Molin Priest, Level 13 Elite.

Description: Those who believe in the gods, have lent their ear to the divinations, received the blessing of the gods, and performed miracles in the mortal world.

Priests are a special class. None of their abilities come from talent or hard work, but are rather decided upon by the gods they believe in. Some classes even require sacrifices to the gods before they can succeed in changing classes. Without the mercy of the gods, it was useless no matter how hard they tried.

Beside the priest of the Molin tribe stood two extremely tall warriors. They were three meters tall and wore black armor. One of them held a huge axe in its hand while the other carried a two-meter-long machete across its back.

These two ought to be the priest’s guards and the strongest warriors in the tribe. They no longer simply relied on brute force; not only did they possess a plethora of combat skills, but they also had a deep battle aura within their bodies.

On the virtual screen, the two imposing monsters were marked:

Molin Warrior, Elite Level 11.

Molin Warrior, Elite Level 12.

There were three elite-level creatures, all above level 10. There were also forty to fifty ferocious monsters. Iris’s face was full of fright and she only wanted to carve an escape path and get away.

“Don’t be afraid.” Jon took Iris’s hand. “I’ll protect you.”

Iris’s heart suddenly calmed down. For some reason, even though her rationality kept reminding her that Jon could not win, she was no longer panicking.

“Elemental Throw!”

Jon consecutively threw out three elemental bombs, attacking the left, right, and the non-elite monsters on top. The sound of explosions rang out, and instantly, there was a wave of mournful wails.

He pulled Iris and ran towards the two Molin Hercules guarding the door. He used Water-Rock Elemental Sword to slash at one of them, while at the same time using Elemental Spirit Shock on the other.

No matter how strong the Molin warriors were, it was meaningless in front of Jon’s sharp sword. It saw the Water-Rock Elemental Sword slashing at it head-on, but it did not have any weapons to block it, so it could only hurriedly dodge to the side.

At this time, its huge body, which was originally its advantage, became a burden. Its dodging speed was slow, and Jon cut a huge wound on its back.

The Herculean warrior cried out in pain, and its movements became even more sluggish. Now, its movements slowing down was fatal.

The next moment, it saw the tip of the sword piercing out of its chest.

‘Ding! Mission completed. Kill the Molin Hercules. Level fragment +150 obtained. Battle aura type advanced fragment +10 successfully extracted from the target’s body.’

All of this happened in the blink of an eye. After the system notification sounded, the dizziness of the other warrior had just ended. The dust from the explosion in the distance finally settled down, and at this moment, the Molin clan priest saw that one of the Hercules guarding the door had been killed.

“How dare you, maggot!”

The priest was furious and ordered the two warriors beside him to kill Jon.
