The Magus of Genesis

Episode 24: Parents & Children/Family

"I… am certain that I am not human. Not an elf, not a dragon."

Grasping his horn, Cruse complains in pieces.

"Sister Lin... I say that no one who has traveled the world in decades, or traveled from a distant country I have never heard of, has ever seen a horny human like me"

Oh, well.

Why Cruse followed me until he pushed Nina out of the way.

That's all I wanted to hear.

"Grandmother. If you are a grandmother…… If you are a dragon who has lived for thousands of years, do you know what I am………?

My mother looks back kindly at Cruse, who sees herself with her eyes with true thoughts.

"Cruse. I'm sorry. I don't know how to answer that."

And to the answer, the eyes of Cruse were stained with the colour of disappointment.

"Though. You are... Nina's child. Even if that's not what normal life does. Well, why don't you?

Cruse closes his eyes as he bites down the words of his relaxed mother.

"- Yes"

And eventually I nodded clearly. What would not have convinced me is roughly inferable from the look on its face. But she was able to swallow it to some extent.

"Come on, now you tell me. What our son has done so far"

"Leave it to me."

Nina immediately undertook to give her mother a bright voice to change the atmosphere.

"………… Be gentle."

I said that with a bitter smile, but Nina didn't listen to it.

Knowing most of my life as a dragon, my partner began to wash away and scatter the stains of my life with great pleasure.

"Oh, it was fun. I haven't had this much fun in years."

The morning after that, the faces I spent the night in my mother's mountain were completely intentional and smiling.

- Excluding me, who was exposed and depressed by scattered black history.

"Yeah. It was fun."

"Me too!

Nina and Cruise are delighted to hear the story before they met me.

"Hey, can I come back and see you?

Nina even said that, so I opened my eyes to surprise. It is unusual for her to miss others so much.

"I don't think that's possible."

But what came back was a word of denial.

"Why is that?"

"It's time for me to get out of here."

I guess you didn't expect me to say no. To Nina, who asks sadly, my mother answered to tell her.

"The extent to which you can fly in a day, focusing on your residence. That's the territory for dragons. Having other dragons in that range means hostility..."

"Our village, you're in Mother's territory as much as you want."

Anyway, my wings are a few minutes away. My mother would be able to come in a shorter time.

"The dragons that live around here are green and blue and a little dangerous for young dragons."

"It's my first ear!?

From my face, I could see the blood pulling away.

There are five kinds of dragons in this world. White, black, green, blue, red. They are also called ice dragons, swamp dragons, poison dragons, thunder dragons, and fire dragons, respectively. White is the smallest and weakest, red the biggest and strongest. Even so, a white dragon is a threat enough for a normal creature.

"You'd be fine now. We've grown enough… If you say so in your calendar, we're not the first to challenge the Fire Dragon to live a thousand years or so, including ourselves."

I noticed that abruptly. My mother is nearly twice my stature.

To put it the other way around, I have more than half my mother's size.

Seriously, if you fight, you'll lose out on 89 out of 10. … but that also means that one or two out of ten can win. At least, it will be a battle, not a unilateral ravage.

If so, no matter how greedy the Fire Dragon is... No, because they are greedy, they do not challenge the Fire Dragon to fight each other. Anyway, there's as much land around the world as there is easier to get.

"That's why I have to leave. Although parents and children, many inconveniences occur when the dragon's territory overlaps. Not to mention that your unusual nest is going to get bigger, isn't it?

"... but"

Doesn't that sound like kicking my mother out?

"This is normal. Fire dragons watch by their side until their children have grown enough, and when the time comes, they move places. Even I gave up this place that way. Now it's your turn. That's all."

My mother tells me that, staring at me with an unexplained face.

Hearing that word, I realized haha.

"………… I understand."

I have been watching the people of the village of Hiiro as I learned that one day I would leave my own hands.

But it was the same for my mother.

Does she now taste the joy and loneliness I have felt?

As we go out of the volcano, my mother's giant pops out of the cave like a rocket. I felt something uncomfortable as I was blinded by that sight, which was as beautiful as fireworks.

"It's not a trick!

When Cruise shouted and waved loudly, her mother twice- or triple-swirled through the air to fly north to answer it.

"... why was it so cool?

But I pay more attention to discomfort than that.

The large hall where my mother was waiting, the temperature was slightly lower. Yes, the magma was supposed to boil over there, and a normal creature would have been unbearably hot.

Yet neither Nina nor Cruse were cool enough to comfortably spend the night, and I didn't find a magma anywhere that should have flown in the past.

- No way.

A bad feeling passes my chest. That can't be right. Dragons don't have a lifespan. I can't believe that it shows my mother's decay...

When I came to that idea, my mother, flying far beyond the sky, leaned unnaturally.

And a terrible shock struck us.

The volcano in front of me erupted.

I'm sorry.

My mother relaxed with a voice that often passes, turning back in the air.

I forgot to tighten the Volcano's main hydrant.

"It's not a gas stove!?

If that looks like it, it's going to live sparingly for 10,000 or 20,000 years.

I yelled back, desperately protecting Nina and the others from the volcanic bullets pouring down with my wings.
