The Male Lead Is In Charge Of The Successor
Chapter 14
Looking at the two men, Eisel sighed and relaxed her expression. She coughed and held out her hand between the two men.
“Never mind, stop, you’ll get into trouble…”
“Sst, shut up, don’t tell me what to do. If you do, I’ll cut you and the man behind you too!”
Eisel sighed while looking at Raven, who spoke harshly. Oh well. Eisel moved slightly back, out of Raven’s sword path, and felt something damp under her feet. Turning slightly, Eisel narrowed her eyes when she realized the boy’s clothes were wet.
“Did you pee?”
“Uhhhhhhh!!!”
“Sssst, shut up!!! I’ll kill you if you cry!!!”
It looked like the boy’s clothes were damp from peeing. A little boy can do that. She doesn’t care about it, but the boy who actually wet his pants cries, and his voice irritates Raven.
Eisel sighed as the boys fought to and fro.
How did he get into this? It’s a lonely place, but the door’s open. Someone must have seen Raven drag the kid, so why isn’t anyone looking for him?
As Eisel felt uneasy about the situation, Ishmael and the knights arrived.
He was saved. But it’s just an illusion. Perhaps feeling nervous about the adult’s presence, Raven dropped the knife and attacked. Crashing the knight before he could move, Raven pushed Eisel. The teen Eisel staggered back as Raven pushed him, leaving the boy behind him stunned.
“Uh, huh!”
The boy who was pushed by the two shouted in surprise, then fell from a low terrace to the ground below.
“Karl!!!”
The sound reverberated in the darkness. Ishmael shouted out of concern. The knight hurriedly took off his armor, and a rustling sound could be heard below. Eisel looked around, and at Raven.
“You’re an idiot.”
Eisel thought the boy would drown before the knight finished taking off his armor and jumped off the third floor terrace.
After a short fall into the pool, Eisel pushes the boy out of the pool as he flips in the dark. Eisel’s tiny body, even smaller, could only keep the child from drowning.
“Come on, come on, come on! Stay where you are, stay where you are! If you move, you will drown!”
“He, help me, help me!”
As the two struggle to stay afloat in the pool, the knight jumps in. Luckily, they both made it out safely.
Whoo… Whoo!”
“Cough… cough!”
Eisel, who sat down on the floor with a deep breath, stared blankly at the boy throwing up water and burst into laughter.
What’s this? Being invited to a banquet, getting wet and being cut by a knife.
I felt my head spinning as I tried to get out of my seat, shaking my head.
“Huh…
Is it because I got cut with a knife and spilled blood into the cold pond water? I thought my front was getting dark like anemia, but now my body has collapsed. The driver, who looked at the boy, accepted Eisel.
“It’s all right.”
“Argh! She is dead!”
“Oh, she is not dead.”
Who is killing? I’m not dead yet…….
Eisel tried to bring it up with her mouth, but closed her eyes and fainted because the world was spinning.
“Ahhhhhhhaha
Only the boy’s cry rang desperately in the dark.
·
Bang!
The door opened harshly. It was so rough that it could not be regarded as noise of the Duke of Basquiela, who regarded dignity and authority as life.
The people in the room looked back at the roughly open door. The person who came inside had two knights behind him.
Gerald, who identified the man who came inside, sighed and frowned.
‘… …Beroic’
His eyes were cold as if he had lost his temper at the news that his daughter had been injured.
“You’re in trouble.”
The knights tried to stop him, but he shook them off with strength that belied his skinny frame. Stomping back inside, Beoric looked down at Eisel, who had collapsed on the bed. Her clothes were freshly changed, but her hair was still damp.
Her cheeks were cold and her face pale. Her body was too small as she sagged on the bed. Even worse of all, her arm, which had never been cut, bled and stained her clothes.
Hadn’t she been properly tourniqueted?
‘Why did I send her alone?’
Beoric gasped, tightening his fists as he exhaled. The knights moved to grab him, but Gerald waved them away.
Once the door was closed, Gerald turned to Beoric, his eyes scanning the room.
“Don’t worry, she’s not too badly hurt…….”
“Does Duke say not to worry after seeing her like that? If your son came back in that state, would you be happy he wasn’t seriously injured?”
“…….”
“A wound that seems insignificant in others’ eyes is greater than any other wound in the world in my child’s eyes. It’s a scar on my daughter, I raised with love.”
Even though his business had failed and he had abandoned his nobility, he had tried to keep Eisel out of harm’s way, and when he heard that his daughter had been stabbed at a banquet to which she had been invited and had fallen into a pond, he felt his blood run cold.
Even a man who could put on an appealing face and get away with anything, would roll his eyes when it came to my child.
“Where is it?”
“Nothing…….”
“The son of Confucius who made that scar on Eisel’s arm. Where is he?”
Gerald frowned at Beoric’s search for his son. Even if his own son did something wrong, there was still a wall between them.
A child of a distant realm who might not even be related to the Duke’s grandson. It was also between a child who had fallen and had no one to see him.
Even if Raven wounded Eisel further, it was beyond Beoric’s control. Gerald frowned and ran a hand through his hair.
“I tiled it well. So over.
“No, no. I need to hear it from you.”
“Enough.”
“Would Confucius have stopped if he were in my situation?”
“Our situations are different. You think you and I are the same!”
Gerald bellowed, his face crumpled in disbelief. Gerald hadn’t been in the happiest of moods lately with Raven and Eisel, but this wasn’t an unpleasant incident. It involved the prince, but he wasn’t hurt.
And what better way to get revenge than by hurting and drowning that pesky Eisel? As for Raven, if he kept his mouth shut, no one would raise his voice against Basquiella.
So Gerald could keep his head down and still be angry. Even if he was angry right now, he figured that if he raised his voice, he’d get him to bow down. But he was wrong.
“What’s the difference?”
It was only a moment before Gerald’s collar was grabbed by Beoric’s hand. Before anyone else in the room could stop him, Beoric squeezed Gerald’s collar.
“You moo……!”
“What the hell is the difference?”
In an effort to loosen his grip, but it didn’t budge.
“What power…….
Gerald’s grip tightened on Véoric’s forearms, and his voice rose to a snarl.
“With that kind of thinking, you wouldn’t even be able to bandage my daughter if she lay there like that. Don’t you think?
“Let go of me!”
“You may not be able to make your flesh and blood repent of their sins, but you’re desperate to hide them. Isn’t that what a parent should do?”
“Where are you getting your discipline……! Get off me!”
The servants, who had stared at the two of them in disbelief, heard the shouting and stopped him. Beoric glared at Gerald and gritted his teeth as he was restrained by the servants.
He shook off the servants’ arms and took a small, deep breath before speaking, his face calmer.
“Bring Raven to me. I need to hear what happened myself, and I need an apology.”
“Are you telling me you want an apology for what you did to me?”
“I think he was more of a gentleman than Confucius’ son who did that.”
Gerald’s eyes narrowed as Beoric pointed to Eisel. Gerald’s anger rose to the top of his head. However, at the same time, he calculated that if he did this right, he could get rid of the obnoxious woman.
Gerald gathered his clothes and rubbed his eyes.
“I tried talking to her, but it didn’t work. Security, what are you doing? Get in here now!”
Gerald shouted harshly, giving Beoric a wry smile.
“I was trying to be polite, but you brought this on yourself.”
This was the ducal residence of House Basquiella. No matter how faultful he had, he could be punished for grabbing a Duke’s throat.
As Gerald stood stone-faced, contemplating how to punish Véoric, he heard the sound of a closed door opening. Gerald’s face turned cold and he pointed at Véoric.
“Take him into custody. He threatened me at the Duke of Basquiella’s residence. Imprison him now.”
“The father of the child who wielded a knife at my daughter is in front of me, and I can only catch him by his collar.”
Gerald’s words cracked a heavy, cool voice.
