The Messenger of Death

Chapter 132: the jealous witch

Back at the Avanti manor, a day after the mission had ended, the seraphim team received a summon from the academy, requesting their immediate return to the school grounds.

Since the day of the prime minister's speech, everything in the capital city had calmed down, everything but the security of the city. They couldn't rely on the prime minister's speech and hope that the syndicate doesn't attack the city.

After that speech, the mission basically ended because the clients returned to their families. The teams from the Beastal and righteous academy returned to their respective schools. During their stay in the Avanti manor, the seraphim team got closer to the family.

The person that Alex got closer to was Camron's mother. He liked her motherly vibe and that drew him closer to her unconsciously. She even made a friendship bracelet for Camron and Alex. When she gave it to them, she said this; "Being friends isn't all about just calling yourselves friends, it's more than that. It is loyalty, respect, love, and care. Although it has only been a short period since the two of you became friends. If the two of you consider yourselves as friends then you can also be called brothers. You might not have the same surnames but a friend of my son is my son as well." Those words hit Alex on his weak spot.

Deep down, Alex yearned for a motherly figure in his life. "Thank you, Miss Ivy." He said sincerely and accepted the bracelet. It was a silver bracelet that had their names on it. Alex used his hand to touch his name that was inscribed on the bracelet.

This was the most normal but heartfelt gift he has ever gotten for as long as he could remember. He gladly wore the bracelet.

"If you don't mind, call me mother." Ivy grinned at him…

One after the other, the members of the seraphim team stepped into the carriage that was going to take them back to the academy.

"Goodbye kids, come again any time, we will welcome all of you with open arms," Ivy said.

"Bye mothers, father, see you guys later." Camron bade them farewell and entered the Carriage last…

It took a while before they reached the academy. By the time that they arrived at the academy, it was already past noon. They all got down from the carriage.

"Same as last time, we have to go and give a report on what happened during the mission," Camron told his teammates, as he was the captain of the team.

"And see that bastard that I still haven't killed? Sure." Alex mumbled to himself.

"Huh, did you say anything Alex?" Camron asked.

"No, let's be on our and get this thing over with." Alex urged. He didn't want to see Vincent because he knew that seeing him will rekindle the hatred that surprisingly subsided over time. He even forgot about Vincent when they were out of the school grounds.

They started to walk towards the de-briefing halls when Alex stopped in his tracks. He felt like he had forgotten something important.

"Alex, why are you just standing there, is something wrong?" Katherine asked.

Alex was too focused on trying to recall what he had forgotten that he didn't hear Katherine when she called him.

['Alex, what's wrong?'] Xander questioned.

['I feel like I forgot something very important. I can't put my hand on it but…'] He paused to think.

-Whoosh!!

A woman in glasses and a white nightgown appeared in front of the seraphim team.

It was Nana.

"Hello kids," She greeted them.

"Sh*t!!!" Alex exclaimed as soon as he heard her voice.

She was the important thing that he forgot about. He quickly activated his fire bloodline ability and set himself on fire. Alex bolted away from where they were.

"Ah, my lovely disciple. He's so excited to see me after 2 weeks that he just had to run away to express his joy." She watched as he quickly ran into the nearest forest. "Tell those teachers of yours that I came to pick my disciple up, he wouldn't be giving any reports to them. He will be occupied with training for some days." Nana said to Camron and the rest.

Drake played dead while standing the moment he saw Nana, Kathrine bowed throughout without raising her head. Only Camron, Adrian, and Emma stood still. Although they didn't do anything as extreme as that of Drake and Katherine, they were still left speechless. Shocked that a grown woman would step into public places dressed like that.

Nana chuckled at their reaction. "I will return your team member when I'm done with him." She said and vanished from their sight.

Drake who had been acting dead on his feet released the breath that he held from the moment he saw her. He looked in the direction that Alex ran to. "I have never met anyone as unlucky and unfortunate as you Alex. I hope to see you again in one piece. You have my condolences." He placed his hand on Katherine's shoulder as she got up from her bowing position…

At the moment, Alex was running as he had never in his life. He was running towards the guest inn.

['Faster rabbit, if that b*tch gets us then we are dead. We'll be safe once we are inside the inn, the steward will protect us.'] Al urged. He too was afraid of Nana. But one thing that Alex and his alters didn't know was that no one in the academy could stop Nana if she really wanted to do anything.

Alex expended everything in him as he increased his speed. Seconds later the doors of the inn were within his sight.

He quickly approached the door and stretched his hand when he was almost there. A smile of relief appeared on his face when his fingers touched the handle of the door.

The next thing Alex knew, he was moving farther away from the doors of the guest inn. It took him a second to process what had just happened. Now someone was holding the collar of his shirt from behind and pulling him against his will.

The familiar scent of Nana reached his nose and a scared expression was plastered on Alex's face. "Nooo!!!!" He screamed as she pulled him away…

-Thud!

Nana threw Alex on the floor of the library when she arrived there, he landed butt first on the ground. "Shut up boy. Is that how to greet your master. So ill-mannered, you didn't act like this in the Avanti manor."

Alex who had been screaming kept quiet when she called the Avanti manor. He looked at her with his eyes wide open. "You were stalking me!!? You saw me kill those soldiers too?!" He began to drag himself backward on the floor, trying to put a bit of distance between him and his master.

"Stalking? Do you think I want you like that? I was protecting you from the shadows. The number of things that would have happened to you if I wasn't there to wade them off. The head alchemist that you stole from, the people from other sects that were drawn over by the abnormality that you caused in the mansion. Do you know how many dogs I had to take care of, for you while you were heading to the House of Representatives? Do you think that they only sent weaklings to keep an eye on you guys? I took the big guys out and left the weaklings for you to show off with.

I was the one that told you what to do when you foolishly attempted to absorb a green energy crystal, with my help you made a breath through, and what did I get in return for it? Nothing, not even a simple thank you. Yet you are here calling me a stalker, you ungrateful disciple." Nana fumed with each sentence she completed she took a step closer to Alex.

"I-I didn't know. Thank you." He said hurriedly in fear. If it was death that Alex was facing he wouldn't be as fazed as he is when he's facing Nana. She was too irrational that it scared him.

"Now you know how to say thank you eh?"

-Thud.

Alex's back hit a shelf, he quickly stood up and was about to move elsewhere when Nana planted his back against the shelf.

Alex looked up, into her eyes and saw that she was staring at him with a calculating look.

She took a step closer and Alex arched his neck higher. She was taller than he was, and he was afraid of touching her anywhere, even if she was the one that was coming closer.

"You cheating disciple, you could grope the prime minister's daughter. If I remember clearly, you said that you knew how to hold on when the situation calls for it. But now you are avoiding me like I'm the plague."

['F*cking pervert, see what you've caused!!'] Alex blamed Al.

['Wait, is she jealous?'] Al wondered.

"To the forest you go, stinking brat."

-Whoosh.

In a second they arrived above the forest behind the snow-covered mountain.

-Boom!

Nana threw Alex to the ground and he landed on his back first.

"Ahh!!" He cried out…
