The Messenger of Death

A white light flashed and Alex returned to the treasure room. He stood up quickly and started breathing heavily.

Alex took in deep breaths and looked at the mountains of treasures, trying to see if the rune inscribed on any of them had been activated. He sighed in relief when he saw that nothing had happened when his consciousness wasn't here.

"Alex, what's wrong?" Camron asked.

"We need to leave this room quickly, in fact, we need to leave this tomb itself…" Alex answered.

['What happened, what did you see this time?'] Al asked.

['There's a dangerous woman named Lilith, she's from another plain realm and was betrayed by some people she knew.

They tried to kill her but she escaped and arrived in this plain realm. She knows the descendants of the people that were buried in this tomb, and together they wreaked havoc, I think they were the ones that caused the war.

But I don't think that war happened a million years ago, many things don't add up. She absorbs lifeforce of other people and when she does, the person turns into something like that skinny corpse that we saw in this room.

This room and every treasure here is hers, she set a trap on it, if we take up to a certain amount the trap will activate and take our lives.'] Alex briefly explained to his alters.

['Wait, if what you say is true, then it is likely that she's still alive, or worse, she's still here.'] Xander stated.

['I hope not. I hope that the man we saw here was the man that she absorbed life force from, back then.'] Alex hoped. He didn't want to start imagining what was going to happen if Lilith was still alive.

How were they going to fight someone like her?

['Hold on. Andrea said that the Luxure occult were perverts that cultivate with the help of lust, they absorb lifeforce that way. After the lifeforce have been absorbed, the victims slim down and die within three days.'] Alex thought.

['What are you rambling about?'] Al questioned.

['Lust, lifeforce, Lilith. F*ck!!'] Alex used his hands to clean his eyes and cover his mouth.

He had just connected the dots and all of them seemed to be pointing towards an answer that he didn't want.

['Lilith is still alive and she's here. I don't know how strong she is now, but I don't want to stay and find out.'] Alex stated.

['How do you know that she's here?'] Xander asked.

['She's a succubus.'] That was the only answer that he gave to his alters. It didn't take more than a few seconds for them to connect everything that Alex was talking about, and come to the same conclusion that Alex did.

['We have to get out of here then, we can't wait till she finds us. With how bad our luck is, I surprised that her trap didn't blow up in our faces.'] Al mentioned.

Right after Al said that Drake moved, he had just woken up and he was still in a daze because of all that he saw in the memory fragment.

"I saw the most beautiful woman in the universe in this memory fragment." He uttered while he was still in his trance.

-Bam!!

Katherine hurled a strong kick at Drake's jaw and it connected. She caught him unprepared.

"Argh!" Drake cried out.

"F*ck!! My jaw!!" He held his jaw and looked at Katherine with anger in his gaze.

"Yes!!! Hahahaha!!!" Katherine threw her hands in the air and rejoiced that her kick connected. She wasn't fazed by Drake's gaze or anger.

"Finally, I've let a bit of steam out." She smiled as she said that. Katherine glared back at Drake after that. "You better stop looking at me like that." She threatened.

"Or what!?" Drake stood up, this time he was ready to retaliate if she did anything.

Emma held Katherine's hand and pulled her back. "You guys shouldn't be fighting now. Look at Alex's gaze." She snapped them out of their heated stares.

When they looked at Alex, they saw that he was being troubled by something. They felt like if he was feeling troubled by something here, then that trouble was something that they should also be wary of.

"Let's go" Alex started walking towards the direction that Lilith and two brothers passed before they exited the treasure room.

"Why are we leaving now, my storage pouch isn't full yet. We need to take some more." Drake mentioned.

"If you want to die then you can try taking anything from those mountains again. There traps on it, traps that were set with rune, we were lucky that we haven't triggered any of them. It's better we leave and not be greedy." Alex said as he kept on walking.

Seeing how troubled and paranoid Alex looked and how serious he was now, they had no choice but to believe him.

As they were heading towards the exit, Alex made an abrupt stop. "There' still one last thing that we can take out of here and be safe. But only four of us will get out of it, and you can only take one for yourself." Alex mentioned as he stopped.

"What might that be?" Camron asked.

"From what I saw in the memory fragment, they looked like miracle fruits." He answered as he looked towards the direction that he saw Lilith sent the white jade stone chest.

In seconds he found the chest.

"Down there," Alex pointed in the direction of the chest.

"Let's head over there." Drake was excited to hear that there was a miracle fruit here.

'Yes! If we draw sticks again, my chance of winning will get higher, and if I get one, Hahaha. Katherine will never be able to catch up. She will have to learn to respect me after that.' Drake smirked at his own thoughts.

"Only four of us need to head over there," Alex interjected. "Me, Katherine, Adrian, and Emma. They are the only ones that didn't get anything the last time." Alex was referring to the primrose pills.

"What!?" Drake exclaimed. "Why are you included? We should draw sticks and the person with the shortest stick will have your position." Drake suggested.

He could feel Katherine's evil eyes graze him.

"Dream on retard, I found it so I choose who gets it," Alex answered and started walking towards the jade chest. Katherine, Adrian, and Emma went after him.

"But-" Drake was about to voice his dissatisfaction with that but he was stopped by the hand that Camron placed on his shoulder.

Camron chuckled and smiled at Drake. "Don't argue with Alex, he's right, he found it so he chooses who gets it and who doesn't. Besides, we got the pills last time, it is better if we let the rest of the team members level up too." Camron knew why Drake was acting like that.

He was scared of Katherine catching up to his cultivation.

Soon Alex and the 3 that followed him arrived in front of the jade chest. Alex walked forward and opened it. Just like he saw it the first time, there were 4, ash fruits in the chest that looked like they were oranges.

Alex gulped and hoped that Lilith hadn't changed the rune that she placed on the chest. He stretched his right hand out, slowly, and closed his eyes when his hand touched one of the fruits. He pulled back and brought one of the fruits out of the jade chest.

Alex opened his eyes and looked at the fruit in his hand, then he looked at the jade chest. He smiled and sighed when he saw that nothing had gone wrong after he took one.

The fruit in his hand was a bit heavy, but at the same time, the texture of the fruit was as soft as cotton candy. Alex kept in his storage and turned to face his teammates.

"One after the other, and you can only pick one." He directed.

Katherine quickly shot forward and picked one for herself, Emma went after her, and Adrian went last.

"Now let's leave this place," Alex said when they returned to where Drake and Camron stayed and waited for them…

-Boom!!

Andrea hurled a punch at the Luxure occult head, but he was quick enough to dodge that attack. Her blow landed on the wall.

They had been battling with the Luxure head for a while now. He was like a rat, after they fought a bit and he saw a chance to escape, he always ran deeper into the pyramid – passing through secret doors and passages.

Andrea and Arabella were able to leave quite a few injuries on the Luxure occult head. He was losing a substantial amount of blood as time went by.

After dodging the blow that Andrea pitched at him, the occult head ran towards a stairway that looked like it was leading to an underground room. The stairway was a very long one. Without much thought, he started descending the stairway.

Seeing their prey run down the stairs, Arabella and Andrea wasted no time in giving chase.

Roughly 15 minutes later, after running down the long stairway, they arrived in an open space underground.

The ceiling of the open space looked exactly like the one that Hassan and Hussein died under. It was huge and shape like a pyramid…
