The Messenger of Death

Chapter 222: ditching the bodyguards

IN THE ORDAIN PLAIN REALM…

"So this is the so-called ordain plain realm? This is beneath me." A young, handsome man, with looks that could kill, uttered to himself. He was standing up in the sky, gazing down upon everything.

He was one of the sons of the current Emperor of the celestial plain realm, and also a holder of a Midas seed.

This young man had blonde hair, ember eyes, and pristine fair skin. Just as he had come down to the ordain plain realm, 44 others, both males and females appeared in the ordain plain realm at the same time that he did.

These 44 others are also Midas seed owners.

His aura was so menacing that everything and everyone there avoided him.

As one of the descendants of the Emperor that created the rule that restricts those from a higher plain from using their full abilities in a lower plain realm, this Prince had no fear nor did he have any regard for that rule.

He felt like the first Emperor placed that rule there for people that weren't royalty. Nonetheless, he knew that violating that rule will get him in trouble with the current Emperor, his father.

Suddenly, a red bead appeared from within his palm. This Prince brought out his Midas seed and let it levitate in front of him. Suddenly, the seed sent out a light that shot in a particular direction.

When the 44 others that arrived, brought out their own Midas seed, a light shot out of every seed there and headed in the same direction.

Soon Everyone there shot after the lights that came out of their seeds…

['130 kilometers left.'] Xander read on the skin crawler's interface.

['Be prepared Xander, something similar to what happened last time in the Agelong Forest might happen again.'] Alex cautioned.

['I can't wait to meet Mr. Guardian, I wonder what he has in store for us this time.'] Al wondered.

Xander looked to his sides and saw that Bobby and Klein were still following him. They have been on the move for hours and only stopped when Xander needed to take a break and rejuvenate himself.

The two of them didn't complain, and they didn't ask him where they were going. All they did was follow him.

Until now, Xander still hasn't noticed the changes that he had in his lightning.

['Al, you still haven't come up with a plan to ditch these bodyguards by my sides?'] Xander questioned.

['Unfortunately, I haven't. The gap between our cultivation is too big for me to think of a suitable plan. Even if we did try anything, they would be able to figure it out before we are able to escape.'] Al answered.

['Just take them to where the Midas petal is. I am very sure that wherever that petal is, it would have some kind of preventive measures to keep people that don't have a Midas seed away from the petal.'] Lex interjected.

['Now that you say that, I just remembered that there was something like that.'] Al recalled.

The moment they were 67 kilometers away from where the Midas petal was located, Klein and Bobby sensed great danger.

"Alex," Bobby called out.

"Yeah?" Xander responded while running. He was already getting close to his goal and he didn't want to stop for any reason.

"We should stop here, there are terrifying people up ahead, and I don't think we can match up to one of them," Bobby informed.

"How many of them?" Xander stopped in his tracks as he asked.

"About 45 of them," Klein answered.

['45 of them?! Near the Midas petal, I hope it's not what I think it is.'] Al desperately hoped.

This made Xander frown. He placed his fingers under his chin as he entered his thoughts

['The carriers of the Midas seeds?'] Xander questioned.

['Yes, if you can recall, Mr. Guardian did say that there are 45 beads and each of the beads is a seed that will guide its carrier to the Midas petal.'] Al explained.

['The Midas petal surely has some preventive measures to keep people that do not have a seed with them, away from the petal. So it is impossible for the people here to find it on their own.

Even if they do have treasures that can reach the Midas petal as the skin crawler does, it is also impossible for Mr. Guardian to give 45 people the same special permission that he gave to us.'] Lex mentioned.

['That means that it's the Midas seed carriers.'] Alex finished.

['We have serious competitors this time, and they are from the celestial plain realm.'] Xander could feel his heart plummet as he thought about this.

['It would be better if we have found this petal before they did, at least we would have had a head start.'] Alex thought.

"Da…" Xander almost cursed out, but he was quick enough to stop himself.

['This is all my fault, if I hadn't insisted on sparing with Klein, we might have made it here sooner. I would have wasted energy sparring too.'] He thought.

['Forget about that, none of us are blaming you for anything.'] Alex reassured.

"Forget it, let's go there. I know the people that are there. If you are still scared of going there then you can wait here for me. "Xander stated and continued his journey.

They followed after him. "Are you sure that you know them? Even from here, we can feel the hostile airs that they are giving out." Bobby mentioned.

"Yes, I know who they are," Xander answered curtly.

Moments later, they felt the consciousness of several people invade their cores. It was too fast for them to count how many consciousnesses had invaded them.

But they could tell why and what had just happened. Their cultivation levels had just been probed and Xander could very much guess who the perpetrators are.

['They already know that we are coming.'] Al stated.

"Alex, we need to stop here, whether you know them or not doesn't stop them from harming you. We were tasked with keeping you safe and I don't think those people will be kind enough to help us keep you safe." Klein uttered.

The two of them jumped in front of Xander and blocked his way.

"Move out of my way," Xander uttered calmly.

"No." The two of them refused.

['These f*cking fools!.'] Al bellowed. ['Switch me, Xander.'] He demanded.

-Switch.

"Get the f*ck out of my way!!" Al shouted immediately he took control.

Bobby and Klein were startled to see him act like that. Since they had begun following him, they haven't seen him act like this.

Al glared at them.

"You actually made it to the ordain plain realm, you and the petals are really fated. Hahaha.

Get past them and I'll help you keep them where they are." Al heard the familiar voice of Mr. Guardian.

He was the only one that could hear his voice at the moment.

"Mr. Guardian!" Al called out excitedly in his mind.

His eyes opened wide and soon a sinister smile crawled up his lips.

He looked so creepy to both Bobby and Klein that were looking at him.

['Be fast about it Al.'] Alex urged.

Al started pacing around, wondering and pondering a way that he could get past them.

Since Mr. Guardian told him to get past them and he would help him, Al believed that he really would.

"Bobby, is he okay?" Klein questioned.

"I think… so"

A gentle breeze blew the fallen leaves up and forward. Some of them brushed Al's face. They carried his attention and took it towards where they were flying to.

At one point, Al noticed that the leaves that flew behind Bobby and Klein stopped at a point. They were blocked by an impenetrable barrier.

['Bingo!'] Al exclaimed.

Al walked closer to his babysitters and placed his hands on their shoulders. "The two of you, help me get a branch from that tree." He pointed at a tree that was behind the barrier.

He wanted to confirm if they could pass the barrier or not.

The two of them turned and looked at the tree that Al was pointing at.

They turned back and faced Al again with their brows raised.

"If the two of you can get a branch from that tree over there then I'll agree to go back." Al folded his hands over his chest and smirked at them.

"Okay." They answered, unsure of what Al's intentions were.

The barrier was just 3 steps away from where they were, Bobby and Klein had taken 2 steps forward.

As soon as they were about to make the third step, Al ran forward and crossed the barrier. He stopped and turned to face them.

"You said that if we can get a branch from that tree you would leave here with us, why are you still trying to go to that place?" Klein asked.

"My offer still stands, if you can get a branch from that tree." Al pointed at the tree again, "Then I will leave this place with you."

Bobby took a step forward.

-Thum!!

He hit his body on the barrier. He saw ripples in the air and he knew that there was a barrier in front of him.

Immediately, panic struck Bobby, "Young master." He called out.

-Boom!!!

Klein punched the barrier with every ounce of strength that he had in him but it made nothing but ripples on the barrier.

"Young master!!" Klein called out this time.

Al smirked at the sight of them struggling to get past the barrier.

He started walking backward and before turned away completely, he flipped his middle fingers at the two of them.

"Bye suckers! Hahaha!!"

Flames enveloped Al's legs and he charged in the direction that the arrow on the skin crawler's interface was pointing at, with a speed almost as fast as Xander's…
