The Messenger of Death

Chapter 266: the last marked spot

Al stood at the same spot for a minute, looking around for anyone that had luckily survived his attack.

"Puny bastards." Al scoffed when he didn't see any survivor.

The energy from the blast melted the wall and it was still doing so, even the floor was riddled with magma.

"And you, weak virgin, next time you try something like this, using Xander to get me to help; the next time you try this, I won't do shit to help you. Until you apologize to me." Al declared.

['You can go fuck yourself, Al, I didn't ask Xander to switch with you, I switched with Xander so that he could help me. How was I supposed to know that he was going to switch with you?'] Alex retorted.

"Shameless," Al uttered.

['Crazy fuck.'] Alex retorted.

Al scoffed once more and switched with Xander.

"Why did you switch with me again, couldn't you have just switched directly with Alex?" Xander shook his head as he asked.

['Not my business.'] Al muttered.

"Alex, the two of you should makeup, I can't continue this messenger work for the two of you. If only Lex would intervene." Xander sighed.

['I won't apologize when I don't know what I did wrong. When he explains to me how I wronged him, if it is reasonable, then I will apologize to him wholeheartedly.'] Alex said.

-Switch.

Alex was back to being in control of his body. If anyone was watching Alex for the past 3 minutes, they would have made the conclusion that he was bat-shit crazy.

"Since there are no sacrificial lambs here, they should be in one of the spots that the rest went to. System, show me the map that we recently scanned." Alex ordered.

The system projected the map to Alex. "The closest place is this spot, and that's the place that I sent Drake and the girls to."

He asked the system to retract the map, before taking in the destruction that his flames caused. The walls and ceiling had melted, revealing the white desert and the setting sun. All that remained of the building were parts that his flames didn't affect. "Damn, I'm hot." He whispered.

['This little cocksucker…'] Al uttered, he wanted to reprimand Alex for trying to take credit for his handwork, but he chose to stay silent.

Milo had been standing by his side throughout the whole ordeal, he knew what his master was capable of so he didn't feel the need to help him.

"Come on Milo, let's go check the next spot." Alex returned his silver spear to his storage ring and left the building.

It didn't take long for Alex to reach the next spot, in about 40 minutes, he arrived there. Unlike the spot that he chose to raid, there was no one here. No smell of blood in the wind, no killing intent within his range. No dead or alive body.

He began searching the area as fast he could. Alex just wanted to make sure that Drake and the rest were alright. After checking room after room, he finally heard the voices of his teammates.

"Those lucky bastards, if I had met any of them here, I would have killed them the worst way possible," Drake claimed.

Katherine and Emma felt the same way, but they didn't say anything. When Alex heard Drake's voice, he sighed in relief before stepping into the room that they were in. "The possibility of you encountering a nirvana realm cultivator here is very high."

His voice made them jump, it took a few seconds for them to recognize that it was Alex.

"By the heavens, you scared me." Drake placed one hand on his chest, and another by the side of his head as if he was trying to stop his head from falling.

"Why do you say that?" Emma asked.

"In the spot that I chose, I had to kill over 100 nirvana realm cultivators." He revealed.

"What!!??" They exclaimed.

"100!? Even the academy doesn't have that many students that have reached the nirvana realm." Emma said.

"But there are many staffs in the school that are in that cultivation realm." Drake pointed out. "But still, they can't take action. It is against the rule." He added.

"And also, they were darkness, elemental users. I have to admit, that element is strong… and scary." Alex intoned.

Katherine wanted to ask him how he survived without much of an injury but held her piece when she saw Milo. The aura that she sensed from Milo the first time that they met, exceeded the aura that a nirvana realm cultivator could radiate.

"Is this Milo?" Drake asked as he went closer and poked one of Milo's abnormally long hands.

"Yes."

Although, they already knew that Milo could shapeshift, after they saw him transform from a cat to liquid, then to a big bird, despite their knowledge of that they were still surprised to see him in some kind of humanoid form.

"If it is really like that, and you didn't find Camron in that place, how heavily guarded do you think the last spot will be?" Katherine gulped as she thought out loud.

"We need to get there fast, Adrian and Gustavo might be in grave danger." Emma panicked.

"I could reach there faster than you-" Alex paused.

['Wait, with Milo, I could even reach there faster.'] Alex thought.

Before he could voice his command to Milo, he transformed into a huge tiger. This tiger stood at the height of 7'0".

The sight of this stunned all of them there, including Alex. "Woah, I didn't think that you could get this big." He went closer and rubbed Milo's fur before jumping on his back.

"You guys should rest a bit before making your way to the last spot. With Milo's help, I should be able to make it there in 3 or 5 minutes." Alex said.

"Wait, let us go with you," Emma suggested.

"No, that might make things harder for me. I have a way to escape without Milo. If and when I save Camron together with the rest of our team, I will have Milo take them away from the area. Bringing you along might make escaping harder if things go astray." Alex refused.

Suddenly, all that remained in the eyes of Emma, Drake, and Katherine was an after image of Alex on Milo.

Even Alex that was on Milo found it a bit hard to hold on.

-Boom!!

Milo broke through the sound barrier and in seconds, they arrived in front of the entrance of the last spot. "Wow, I thought that it was going to take at least 3 minutes. Who would have thought that it wouldn't even take up to half a second?"

This place was heavily guarded and Milo stopped in the middle of the forty-something guards that were outside. The guards were shocked that someone entered their middle without them being able to detect the person.

They used their consciousness to probe Alex's cultivation rank and Alex did the same to them. All of them were above the fifth rank of the nirvana realm.

Seeing that the foreigner here wasn't as strong as the weakest person here, the guards didn't give it much thought and saw Alex not to be a threat. In their minds, all they needed to do was to raise their weapon and he would be dead.

Alex dropped down from Milo's back. "Although you need to learn when and where to stop. How could you stop here? Be a good boy and take care of them for me."

Milo did as Alex asked, he went after the guards and in a second he was done with them. To Alex, it was as if Milo didn't move. Alex couldn't even tell that Milo had already taken care of them.

"Come on, what are you still doing standing here? Go and deal with them for me." Alex insisted and Milo purred in response.

-Thud!!

Unexpectedly, one of the guards fell to the floor and his body divided into 3 as if he had been sliced by a claw.

-Thud!!

Almost simultaneously, the rest of the guards fell to the ground and died the same way the first guard did. All of them with a claw mark that divided their bodies into 3.

"What the?" Alex was stunned. "How are you that fast? Aren't you just as strong as an early-rank earth realm cultivator?" He questioned.

Alex had experienced the strength of an early-rank earth realm cultivator, so he had an idea of how to gauge their ability. What Milo did was beyond the reaches of an early-rank earth realm cultivator.

"Even I couldn't react to that." He added.

['Well, Mr. Guardian did say that Milo was strong. Maybe his strength is being limited by us.'] Lex mentioned.

"That might be true. Anyway, since there were over 40 nirvana realm guards here, it could mean that Adrian and Gustavo were captured, or they might have found another way in." Alex frowned as he thought.

"Milo, Get in there and kill everyone that looks like these guys. Clear the way for me."

Milo growled and vanished from his sight.

-Boom!!

Almost suddenly, Alex heard an explosion coming from within, Milo had started his destruction.

With a cold smile on his face, Alex stepped into the building. He hadn't taken the third step and the smile on his face had been wiped off.

The feeling of this place was off. It made him wary, beyond measures. His heart began beating fast and loud.

His dragon bloodlines were boiling, even his innate bloodline started to show signs of movement.

Even when he faced Lilith the succubus, the pressure that she placed on him wasn't even a fraction of what he was feeling at the moment.

Suddenly, Alex saw everything turn to white and black…
