The Night Rose

23 Chapter 23

'The only way for me to survive the heist is by escaping from the city to the wilderness. They wouldn't be happy that their warehouse was looted, after all. I guess I still need Timothy to at least how know the outside world is looking like.' Arwin silently thought about her plan to rob the place.

She also knew that she wouldn't be able to do it on her own and that she needed help from someone who is trustworthy enough.

Arwin was still in deep thought when she noticed the Guild Master come out.

"Your luck really is extraordinary. All of the items you got are in this backpack, that is also your third item, and it's another failed experience of a spatial space. Despite that, it still can store nearly seventy liters while the toolbox can only store near to ten liters." He explained.

"As I said before, it's an experiment and could be unstable, so I won't guarantee that they won't explode later on. For the other two items, I guess I will let you check them out later on your own. For now, I want you to see the benefits if you join our guild." The Guild Master continued before handing over the backpack.

The backpack was light brown with two simple leather straps to carry and a string to close and open the space.

Arwin inspected it and saw it actually had a large spatial space. In it was also the toolbox she had requested and the Raven necklace with two additional items that had notes attached to it.

She was happy that she didn't get scammed by the Guild Master and that he actually had left notes to explain the items. She almost started to feel bad for the man if she would come and do her planned 'visit' later.

"Now, when you are done inspecting it, we can move on. Oh, before I forgot, you could also use it as a regular bag. Let me show you how it's done." The Guild Master said before he took the backpack.

He then held the leather straps and made them longer, making it look like a regular bag. After that, he closed the string on the entrance tightly and slowly loosened a spot on the backpack's side. In the same place, a new entrance appeared.

Arwin tried it on eventually and immediately noticed that it was lightweight, even when there were items inside. She was really satisfied with the bag.

"Now follow me. I will show you a specific place that might interest you while explaining how our guild does work." The Guild Master said while opening one door. He then went outside, and Arwin was following behind.

"This is the area mostly for the employees for the guild. We will soon come to the heart of our guild that let us grow more than our competitors here." The Guild Master started to explain the history of their guild briefly, but Arwin wasn't listening at all as she was mentally retaking notes of all of the rooms and doors she passed through.

After a few minutes of walking, they came to a large open area. Arwin's eyes immediately brightened when she saw that there were five different kinds of airships.

"Here is the pride of our guild. As you see, we have five airships that use steam. There are two medium ones for cargo and two small lighter ones for rescue or scouting missions. Our guild has the most number of the airships on this continent. Even Silas, when he wants to transport the wood from the outside, he needs to rent out our ships, and we really earn good just from him.

But the real thing is this on." the guild master said while pointing at a ship and continuing. " It is our jewel; it's modified cargo ship with weapons used by the bloodied fangs in the past." The Guild Master reveled.

Arwin looked at each airship carefully. Finally, she saw a night-black ship that reminded her of Night Rose. For her, it actually looked exactly like Night Rose!

"Can you tell me more about that ship. It looks fascinating, and I have never seen anything like that." She immediately asked as she looked at the Guild Master with puppy eyes.

The Guild Master's eyes softened, "Have you heard about Night Rose before? They say this ship was the first and original version of it before they switched from steam to magic. Our guild in the mainland kingdom had captured this ship by accident. It was a fierce fight, but our more developed ship finally won. However, it was damaged severely and left in the storeroom. When this continent was discovered, but when we realized that magic couldn't be used here, it was repaired again and transported here." The Guild Master was enthusiastically explaining.

Arwin suddenly remembered what her stepfather had said to her before she had chosen her own airship. 'Good choice, little Arwin. Do you know that this ship was modeled by our previous captain's ship? That old geezer didn't believe in magic and wanted to use steam as long as available. One day he took off and disappeared with the ship, and after that, we haven't heard news about him.'

Now there was exactly a ship like his stepfather had mentioned in front of her. Because of this, Arwin's plans had manifested with or without Timothy's help. She badly wants to steal this guild's storehouse along this ship.
