The Other Side of A Cultivation Story

He went on to train some more on the sixth day. Then he decided to head back home the next day after cultivating.

But early the next morning he was awaken by the sound and aura of powerful skills activated just near where he was cultivating.

He felt two strong wind aura struggling. He thought he need to get out immediately so as not to get entangled with a dangerous fight but realized that one of them must belong to the esteemed sage.

Qai didnt know what to do. He thought that the sage might need some help but at the same time he felt any help from him would be useless. He might just become a burden.

He took a deep breath and decided to simply peek at the on-going fight. So he looked for a tall tree around obviously near to where the aura is coming from and decided to watch from there.

'Boom, boom.'

'Growl.'

'Swish, swish.'

'Boom.'

Qai saw the sage fighting the wind white tiger the sage was looking for.

They are equally matched. Both has Wind element and both are at the heaven stage of sage realm.

The elder has variety of skills but the tiger is innately stronger.

'Boom.'

'Growl.'

Qai decided to stay and watch the entire fight and planned to witness who's gonna end up the victor.

The fight has already gone for an hour but no one is giving an inch.

Then after few more blows, Qai saw that both are preparing to activate their ultimate skills as both gather their remaining Qi.

He gasped and held his breath, not wanting to flinch. This is it! The move that will decide it all.

The sage and the tiger attacked at the same time and released their final trump cards.

'Bang,' 'Waboooom.'

A loud and strong wind effect was created destroying a hundred-meter radius from the battlefield.

Qai flew off from the tree he was standing on due to the strong wind blast and banged his back and hit his head onto another tree.

'Baaam.'

He fell down and was knocked unconscious.

A couple of hours later, Qai opened his eyes and immediately tried to recall what had happened.

He then shook his head and got up, gathered some courage and decided to stealthily approach the battlefield to avoid any further mishaps.

What he saw then was an open field with uprooted trees lying around the area as if tornadoes blew them off unexpectedly.

He looked for any signs of life but found none.

He wanted to look for the body of the elder sage to confirm whether he survived or not but what he found was the body of the white tiger.

Qai slowly went to check the body of the tiger and discovered it to be breathing hard gasping for life. It looked as if it is wanting to say something.

He knew that some beasts who achieved a certain level of cultivation can speak the human language, but he also knew that this particular white tiger hasn't reach that level yet.

But then the eyes of the white tiger are in such a sorrow that they seem to tell something.

'Roar.'

A small roar sound suddendly burst from the other side of the tiger.

Qai looked from where the sound came from. The dying tiger probably measured two meters in height so he didn't notice whatever is covered from its blindside.

'A cub...,' he thought, 'it must be a cub.'

He leaned forward to confirm his thoughts and there he found a black-colored tiger cub looking lost as it growled softly.

It didn't have the semblance of the bigger tiger but he knew that this cub must be its child.

He sighed and grabbed the tiger. He caressed its head and thought that it can't survive on its own in the forest.

Qai felt that although offsprings of demonic beasts are normally born as mortal beasts, this cub is especially indorsed to him by its mother--so that even if it aint anything special, he must take care of it.

Although the core of the mother tiger and its hides would be sold for lot, he didn't have any thoughts out of respect. Instead, he buried it.

He got up and once again tried to look around to see any sign of the elder.
