"Lanni, why didn't you come back home last night?" Li Yuming asked as soon as she saw her daughter arrive.

"I spent the night at the hotel." she cleverly didn't mention Ji Xiehan.

"Honey, you should know that it's not safe for young girls to stay alone at hotels." she said as she pulled her daughter towards the dining table for breakfast.

Li Lanni let out a sigh. "Mom, it's alright. That was The Emerald Grand Hotel. It's very safe and besides, I was with Feifei." she conveniently dropped Ji Feifei's name so her mother wouldn't be worried about her.

However, Li Yuming didn't look convinced. "But I couldn't get through to you. I called her and she said she didn't know where you were. Do you know how worried I was?"

Li Lanni's expression darkened. Ji Feifei sent her to a man's room then lied to her mother about not knowing her whereabouts? How strange.

"Mom, I'll take my medicine and freshen up first." she said and fled up the stairs before her mother could stop her.

In her room, Li Lanni was in a foul mood.

Her so called best friend drugged her wine. Despite being a little weaker from her accident, there was no way she would believe that she fell asleep naturally. Ji Feifei must have drugged her.

Wait, something wasn't right.

Ji Feifei and Ji Xiehan. They shared a surname. So they were really siblings.

If Ji Xiehan hadn't asked for her name this morning, she might have really believed that he was her husband.

The excuse she was trying to use was that perhaps when Li Lanni was in coma, she dreamt that she was married to Ji Feifei's brother.

Li Yuming who was utterly shocked about her daughter suddenly having a sister-in-law let out her breath. "So it's like this..."

"I will not interrupt you girls from having fun. Lanni, don't forget to take your medicine."

"Yes mom, don't worry about us." Li Lanni looked like she couldn't wait to catch up with her friend.

As soon as Li Yuming disappeared, she shrieked in excitement and grabbed Ji Feifei's arm.
