The Princess With The Jet Black Hair

Chapter 46 - A preview for the next volume...

Just as they were about to enter, Elena reminded her daughter, "Remember Emily, walk with confidence. When someone greets you, just smile and give them a solid handshake, alright?"

"Yeah, I got it." Emily replied as the doorman smiled and pushed open the large wooden door of the ballroom.

Taking her final deep breath, she walked right in.

The ballroom was filled with decorations, music and food. Mary was right, it looked much more like a party than a ceremony. There were many people there, most of whom were unfamiliar to her.

Many of them were chatting and eating, while a hand full were actually dancing.

However, once Emily entered, everyone was doing to same thing.

Getting themselves a peek of Fiorentina's fourteenth princess.

Everyone was scrutinising her every step. Every gesture, basically her every move.

The sound of her heels echoed throughout the ballroom masking the sound of her pounding heart. Just then, a wave of anxiety swept over her, when she finally realised how many people were actually looking.

It was practically the entire ballroom.

"Calm down, remember! Confidence!" She chanted in her mind.

Of course, that did not help.

Why? Because, let's be honest, how could someone gain confidence just by thinking of those words?

"Come on, Emily! Just fake your confidence at the very least." She thought while her expression remained rather stiff.

She knew that there was no time to screw up.

This was it.

...The declaration ceremony.
