The Queen Wicked Deeds
Chapter 120 - The Villain King (Part 4)
That day he brought home a little girl of red hair and golden eyes, though the dirt and dust in her face and hair hid them. She looked innocent but at the same time wary of everything and everyone.
He found her difficult to understand. She didn't tremble when she was being chased around by the fierce old woman in the mall and the policemen, however, she didn't dare to look at him.
Her gaze was lowered, and her hands kept playing with her pants, squeezing the fabrics.
"What is your name?"
Henry asked while he was in the car. He made Jano take the girl inside the car.
"I don't know," she answered with a soft voice, "I don't have one."
She didn't want to say it. The many names those people in that house called her were not considered proper. So she decided to stop using her name. The streets didn't need it, though.
"Tell me," Henry pressed her, "or else I will give you one you won't like."
"I don't care."
He lowered his eyes to the floor. "Jano give me a name."
Jano looked through the front mirror and frowned, he had never named anything nor anyone. So the task of giving a little girl a name was a task he didn't like.
"What about Beth, young master?" Mateo came to the rescue that time.
He turned his head to the back and watched the little girl still watching the ground. He smiled in helplessness. The name was the one his mother wished to give to her daughter, if she had one, of course.
"Beth?"
Henry looked at the little girl on the side to see if she had a reaction. She did.
Her beautiful eyes widened a bit and her face froze. However, she didn't say a word of complaint.
Henry smirked and nodded, "Beth will be your name from now on."
They arrived at the mansion after several minutes of moving around the streets. Henry wanted to stay outside for a while, and so he made Jano take the longest road to the mansion.
It was strange for him to do that, but he was feeling strange. The little girl by his side hadn't moved from the same position. After a few minutes, she leaned her head to one side and slept. She didn't even mind that her head had hit the window several times.
When they arrived, Jano wanted to carry her, but she woke up with a fright. She looked like a little startled cat with her furry straight and her little claws out.
"Let's go," Henry said to her, and she followed him closely. It seemed that she didn't want to be separated from him.
Her eyes sparkled with the beautiful view of the mansion, the gardens, even the trees. It was a fascinating sight to any commoner that had only seen the crude streets of the city.
Beth had found a little of light in the world for the first time. She couldn't help but smile.
Henry looked at her cute expression and felt a strange pang in his heart as if he had seen that expression before. Suddenly the image of a girl with beautiful red hair, mischievous golden eyes, and a fluffy pink dress overlapped with the little girl in front of him.
The feeling of having found something he had lost entered his heart, making his breath slower.
'What is going on?' He touched his heart and looked at the girl again.
This time she had fixed her eyes on him.
"Young Master?" Jano came forward with some boxes and bags from the mall. "Is everything fine?"
Henry woke up from his daze and looked away from Beth's eyes. "Yes, let's go inside."
They moved to the house, and he called aunty Smith to take Beth to take a shower and a change of clothes quickly. The little girl didn't hesitate to follow the gentle woman, however, her expression returned to the same indifferent face as before.
Henry knew she was scared, however, he didn't do anything to comfort her. She needed to notice on her own that not every person would be bad and treat her like trash. Aunty Smith was one of the most gentle women he had ever known, and he knew that she will be delighted to adopt Beth as her own daughter.
Later that day, Mellie decided to appear in his room. For the first time, the little demon had made an act to show himself in the flesh.
"You are Mellie…?"
Henry looked at the little thing in front of him and hesitated. He somehow expected a more dangerous being with horns or even with the form of a human.
However, the demon in front of him was black and fluffy with two crescent moons as eyes and without a mouth. There were a pair of horns in his head, but nothing else. His hands and feet were rounded as he was a plushy toy.
The little demon sighed and almost facepalmed. He thought that that form would be the most convenient with a little boy. He didn't want to scare him, however, now he knew that it was useless.
He decided to enter the closet, but his little frame didn't let him grab the handle.
"Do you want me to…?" Henry signaled and Mellie nodded.
The little evil entered the room and signaled for Henry to close it. Not many seconds later, the handle moved again and the figure of a tall man with a beautiful face appeared this time.
He was flawless in a black suit and a red tie. His face was beautiful with androgenic features. His eyes were red and bright like a pair of rubies. Handsome would be the understatement of the year to describe his beautiful features.
"This is better," he said and smiled at Henry, "Where were we?"
Henry frowned. He preferred the first appearance. At least it didn't have a mouth.
Mellie sat on the couch near the table with elegance, Henry followed him on the other seat.
"What do you want to tell me?"
"The next missions won't be as easy as the first one, Henry."
The voice of the demon was powerful and melodic at the same time. Henry, however, didn't like it. He would prefer the other version, should he tell him?
"There are fifty missions before jumping to the intermediate level."
"I understand," Henry said while drinking his tea. Jano had left the tea before leaving to prepare the dinner. "When are you going to give me the cards."
Mellie took a red card from the pocket of his suit and slide it on the table. He then took a piece of cookie from his other pocket and ate it with the tea served.
"…"
"What is this?"
"The mission," Mellie smirked.
"What kind of mission is this?"
Henry didn't have an answer when the demon disappeared in a puff. Henry could only give up.
[Steal a kiss from a young maiden.]
"What the hell is this?!"
He tossed the card to the side, and it suddenly burned into ashes.
"Where will I find a…"
The little girl with red hair and golden eyes appeared in his memory. He suddenly blushed, then he shook his head to stop his strange thoughts.
He moved downstairs and entered the dining room. However, instead of the usual greeting, he would have, he heard a horde of praises and compliments towards a person who was being surrounded.
Aunty Smith was even laughing with pride, while Jano was nodding with a silly smile and heart-shaped eyes.
However, the strangest of all those persons was Mateo, he was blushing to his neck. He couldn't even mutter complete words or phrases.
Henry moved forward to see what were they complimenting when the sight he saw a few hours ago entered his eyes.
Red hair, golden eyes, silky pale skin. Beth was dressed in a pink pastel dress with a big bow in the back. Her hair was tied into a ponytail, with also another topknot in the back.
She looked lovely. Her shy expression was also another shock of cuteness to the present people.
Jano couldn't help but tap her little hair, and Aunty Smith couldn't help but squeeze her little cheeks.
Mateo was blushing even more when those pair of eyes looked at him and blinked. He wanted to take her hand and guide her to the table when suddenly, the hand of another young boy stopped him.
"Young Master?"
"Master Henry, what…?"
"Oh my!"
The three widened their eyes when the boy with green emerald eyes kissed the cheek of the girl with golden eyes.
"Don't touch her," he said and pulled the startled Beth to the table.
He found her difficult to understand. She didn't tremble when she was being chased around by the fierce old woman in the mall and the policemen, however, she didn't dare to look at him.
