The Queen Wicked Deeds
Chapter 39 - Level up
Anne was now in a dilemma, a huge dilemma.
Mellie has been absent since some days ago, and she didn't know where to start looking for him. He usually appears in front of her once or twice a week to give her the missions, but now almost a month had passed and nothing. Not a single red paper with strange letters had appeared before her. Not a cookie or even a strange vision of Gandalf running around the school with a black fluffy demon in his back playing the evilest demon of the world.
"This is worrying," she said while walking around the hallways of the school. "Where could he be?"
She had gone up the stairs of the main school building several times then again she goes back on her path and comes down the stairs to start again passing around the hallways. The many times she had done that gained her a bunch of people looking at her with confusion, though, no one stopped her.
"Should I call him? Should I make Gandalf look for him?"
She didn't even know that a bunch of students was following her and now there were more than fifteen of them moving at her pace. Up and down the stairs of the castle. Looking outside the windows and chatting among themselves.
"Is this some kind of new exercise?"
"Are we looking for something?"
"I don't know, but don't you think it is fascinating moving around the beautiful halls of the school while the sunset is coming through the windows with old and new friends by your side."
"Yes, that is right."
The people following the worrying Princess were talking while strolling behind her and sharing wonderful experiences from time to time. Some of them made new friends, some others made best friends and sometimes a couple emerged from inside the mass of people. However, Anne didn't even notice.
Now the journey of the Princess will be established in the beautiful customs of the school. They will say that when you walk around the hallways of the Academy on a beautiful evening of autumn when the sunset comes from the window, you will be granted a new friend, a friend for life.
"Did you hear?"
"What?"
"A new student will enter this year."
"How is that possible, the entrance exams are only once a year."
"I know, but it seems that he is special."
"Special how?"
"He managed to receive the recommendation of the Great Wizard of the Academy, even the Principal was stunned."
"Wow, that is amazing, not many can get that kind of permission."
"I know, they say he has a strange power."
"Which power?"
"To read ancient books, those that only a couple of experts can read and…"
"And?"
"He can make cookies appear from nowhere."
"…"
"Extraordinary, right?"
"…"
"I want that ability."
"Fruit tart."
Those were her only words and she passed through them to go to the cafeteria. Though she was asking herself the entire way why they were following her. 'Was there some kind of new activity going on?'
"Did she say fruit tart?"
"Yes," one of the girls was shining with delight. "She must be happy."
They all knew the favorite dessert of the Princess, the one she fought so hard to have from the first day of school. Fruit tart. Though, why would she be happy? They didn't know, they could only wait and see.

"Please give a warm welcome to Mellie."
The teacher in charge of the first-year class announced to the stupefied students in front of her. She understood their reaction too, from the moment she saw the face of the new girl… boy, she was amazed.
He was… difficult to describe.
Then he moved to the back of the seats to sit by the side of a smiling princess.
"Anne," he nodded, though his voice was different from what she had initially imagined. She thought he was a girl.
"Mellie," she nodded and gave him a piece of fruit tart.
"Are we allowed to eat in class?"
He asked but he was already eating. He had been eating a lot from the moment he transformed into his human form. The storage and fridges of the cafeteria now have a big shortage of cakes and other delicious food that a certain demon couldn't stop from eating.
"I don't know," Anne ate another piece of the fruit tart while the whole class was in awe. Even the teacher was amazed by such shamelessness. Though she couldn't really say anything, from the beginning of the school, the number of times she had sent the little Princess to detention for eating in class can be considered a new record.
"Anne, Mellie… sigh," Teacher Jane began to say, and was readying the card of detention but Anne didn't let her this time. For the first time in many days, she raised a hand to retaliate.
"Miss Jane, I am only going as per your instructions, I am giving my dear friend Mellie the best warming welcome I know."
Miss Jane was not angry and thought about it very carefully, but she was still sure that it was not according to the school rules to bring cake to the class. Not when the little princess gave a share to anyone else. That was not right. They had stomachs too.
"Alright… I will allow it for now, but just now," Miss Jane had lost count of how many times she had said that. "Alright, Anne?"
"…"
"Anne?"
"Yes, Miss Jane?"
"Sigh…"
