I am pleased to welcome you to this joyous occasion at the DevVin Corporation, and I am also here to thank the impressive Kingdom of Dulein for receiving us with such a warm embrace. I stand before you as a representative of our magnanimous company and also because I was utterly and astonishingly dragged here by pure bad luck. Yes, my dear guests. I lost a bet, not the kind of simple bet but a horrible trickery.  ​​

A bet I shouldn't have lost if I was allowed to use my magic, or my potion, yes, the one which can cure sadness. Anyway... sigh, without further ado, and because I want to let you enjoy the rest of the event, and because I want to get out of here as soon as possible, I am honored to introduce you… me. Wizar Druon, the heavenly handsome wizard, Master of the Most Outstanding Magic, and a renowned member of the Wizardly Union. The savior of the word happiness and the most acclaimed man in the world.

Don't worry my friends, I will give you autographs when all of this is over, though, you will have to make a line.

Then again… oh right, take a look at the products of this year.

First, I was tasked with the horrible job to make a little introduction about our products, they even wrote it in these cards here. However, I am too lazy for that, and I am a magician not some kind of writer or academic that is holed up in a lab his whole life… [He is… most of his days he had been slaved… in his lab], so the best way to do this is to show it to you.

Take a look at the beautiful promo for the new features of VinDev. Just to make a note on this. I was forced to buy their shares.

The Wizard Druon of Lith was forced to make the first speech at the launch event. The ones nominated to do it in a biased voting pool were three candidates: Druon, Anne, and the Duke of Mills.

Then, to find the one who will step in the platform and lead the launch to its successful end, a bet had to be taken place.

The terms of the bet:

1. Resist without vomiting a slice of Moira's cake.

2. Look at Gandalf in the eyes without patting his head.

3. Win against Henry in a sword battle.

4. Make Callum laugh.

It was unnecessary to say who was getting the short stick in every battle. Anne didn't eat the cakes, as the two others did, and they ended up running to the bat. Gandalf is a confirmed loss to all of them. Somehow, those big bright eyes made anyone led their hands to part his head and then give him everything he wants, everything.

The sword battle, well only the wizard lose, he didn't even try. He just said 'I am sorry, but I don't want to harm a little youngster.'

The little youngster smiled at the trembling legs of the wizard, and said 'I understand, I won't ever dare harm an old grandpa.'

For the other two, well, Henry won't ever dare to win against Anne. And the battle with his father, well, he had a long way before daring to win against the commander of the Shadow Knights. He realized that, and he didn't like it, not in the least.

For the last battle, the scores were, Anne, two losses, and one win; Duke of Mills, two loses and one win; Wizard Druon, three losses.

Then the next one will determine everything. To make Callum laugh.

If Anne and the Duke lost, then the Wizard would have an opportunity to win, so he had no other choice but to tell the best joke in the world.

Anne, she looked into the red-eyed man, and then she nodded. She was about to start and said her joke, but then a laugh came out from her mouth, "Muahahahaha!"

The others around could only slightly lower their heads with trembling shoulders and hands in their mouths.

"I will not tell a joke because I am not funny, I am evil, the most outstanding evil in the world."

"However, I should make you laugh…" Anne passed into the room from one side to the other. "Do you have tickles?"

"No," he didn't know what even the word 'tickle' refers to.

"Knock knock…"

"Say, 'who is there?' after I say 'knock knock'."

"Anne"

The idiot Callum kneeled down and saluted the Princess.

"You should say, 'Anne who?'"

"My Princess?"

"Say it…"

"Anne who?"

"Anne body else wants to try," she looked at the bunch of people now to their knees from the silly moment. The idiot wizard was almost in the ground hitting it hard.

"My Princess, I can't tell jokes with that man's face, I am sorry, but I give up."

The Duke of Mills didn't really want to participate in the silly contest, but he did it to amuse his wife. However, if telling jokes to make an unfeeling man laugh was the bid, then nothing he tells would make the man even share a bit of an expression. So the only thing he could do was to give up.

"Then I will go then."

It was Druon's opportunity to send the bet to another round, maybe this time he will have luck and will be the one choosing the terms. In no way he will give a speech to thousands of people when he could be enjoying his precious vacations in Dulein.

"What is the worst thing about an illiterate wizard?"

"…"

"That he can't spell."

"…"

"Did you get it?"

"…"

"Oh come on! He can't spell."

"Ladies and Gentlemen take a look at our most impressive feature for tonight. The MINI!"

"Impressive!"

"Are they launching it for the rest of the population?"

"Oh my! I am lining up!"

"Yes!"

The MINI that was only a device for the students and staff in the Academy and some people from the upper class in the Kingdom of Lith, finally launched his products for massive consumption.

Now that hundreds of souls will sell their minds for the impressive MINI, then the VinDev Co. will be able to control the world with its new features to control the massive media and publicity. If the governments and kingdoms royals dared to fight against them, then they can only take out their products and let the people raise a revolution against their Kings or Queens.

Anne could only smile in her balcony at such impressive sight. People lining up outside the shops ready to leave the many gold coins they had saved only to get their hands in a MINI. She was already seen how the community will grow with time and the history will change with the name of VinDev as the guide.

"Are you happy, my bride?"

"No," she said with a cool face, however, she was eating a piece of fruit tart. "This is just the beginning."

"I know," Henry looked outside. "Anne, I have to tell you something."

"No."

"I have too."

"I will go with you."

Anne turned around and looked at the handsome young man that was looking at her with a worried face. They knew that the last battle with the Duke was an eye-opener for Henry, he knew it and she noticed it. However, she didn't want him to go.

"No," he said, "I need to go alone, or I won't…"

"You can't," Anne looked at his eyes with a small tear going down her right eye. "I don't want to let you go."

"My bride, if I don't go, I won't ever succeed the Shadow Knights," he knew she was scared, but it was something he had to do as the heir of the Duke. The future was difficult to see, but they were aware that even if she became his bride as a Duchess, or he became her groom as a King, he had to go through the path to take the training in the north.

"I…" Anne felt a pang in her heart. Then she looked at her fruit tart and took a bite to lower the sadness. However, it was not enough, and that was an incredible feat.

"I understand," she said and pulled his collar to give him a kiss. "Just don't be late, okay?"

"Will you wait for me, my bride?"

"Yes," she nodded with resolution, "however, if you ever put yourself at risk and I don't see you in a few years, then I will have to go for you."

Henry smiled, "I understand, my lady, my Master."

"Good," she smiled, but something told her that she will end clashing with the north, maybe not now, but later…
