The Queen Wicked Deeds

Chapter 90 - Withdrawal Symptoms of Happiness.

[…

Lith was one of the Kingdoms that answered those cries for help and alliance, Lith and the Kingdom of Dulein.

Two of the most powerful Kingdoms of the Continent, one with a powerful army and extensive strategic position near the Kingdom of Halse and the other with extensive financial resources. Those were extraordinarily powerful allied for the poor refugees and General Levy. They brought hope to the nation and salvation to the people of Halse.

However, Halse was in no way a Kingdom of weak people, even if they had discharged the honor and their vow to protect their own people. They had the best fighters and warriors in the world.

The way they dominated the sword and the magic over nature had transcended to astonishing levels, and so, the war against two peaceful countries was disastrous a bloodbath. However, the Kings of those two countries never conceded defeat, if the people of General Halse were still fighting, they swore to help them.]

The Academy's cafeteria was filled again to the brim with people, even the windows were packed with snoopers with their cameras ready to record the battle within two of the most powerful warriors on the campus.

"Princess Anne, you are not thinking of eating that much," Billie wanted revenge. For a few days now, he had been in a cold war with his dear darling, John. He had asked him what did he sell his soul for? However, John didn't answer, not even after threatening to stop their relationship.

However, Billie was the one missing his sweet darling more than John, or so he thought. The time they spent together was reducing as Billie had chosen the artistic path while John was in the magic faculty and the economics path at the same time.

So, they only had time to see each other during the night or at mealtime but… recently, John had been avoiding him without remorse and had chosen to eat with his friends. Billie had no choice but to sit with Anne and challenge her, not because he wanted to rant and complain to someone.

"I am not eating that much," Anne said while showing a small piece of fruit tart to her mouth, "this is just enough for a girl like me."

"You are insane, you are going to be sick if you continue eating like a pig!" Billie wanted to take the fruit tarts from her. "This is not the way to complain!"

He shoved a piece of chocolate truffle cake in his mouth too.

"Are you telling me off for complaining?!" Anne took another piece to her mouth, "You are the one ranting here…"

"I am not!"

"You are!"

"Then you are also…" he smiled triumphantly when the little princess fisted her hand on her fork.

Tia was watching their little show of how many cakes they can devour because they miss their partners. Her Princess Anne was making a withdrawal from her Henry doses these days. She had always been used to the gentleness and shows of love from the boy with green emerald eyes, but now that he was even forbidden to send messages during his training, Anne was having strange symptoms.

First. She waked up earlier than usual to write an extensive thesis on how to grow happiness in not that wealthy countries. Furthermore, she arrived at several conclusions after deciding the correct method to measure the increase of satisfaction in the individuals. One of her obvious conclusions was food. The richer the food, the healthy and joyful the people will be. So she ate food. Lots of it.

[…

Even the Academy sent help. Though, the only way they give some ȧssistance came in name of healers and medicine. Even some instruments and development for war. They were not proud of that, but looking at the immense battle and the loss of lives, even the students of the knights club left their studies to join the battle. Then the Academy elders decided to intervene.]

"You can't win against me, little young man," Anne was eating her second pie and was already preparing her fork for the third one. Tia was now truly concerned and wanted to stop the ridiculous battle, but Anne's eyes these days didn't seem normal.

"Hah… don't worry about me, little Princess, even if I have to sell my soul twice I will win this… auch!"

A smack landed painfully on his head. Someone had thrown a plate to his head from afar. How did that happen? Well, the only answer was magic.

Billie turned around and looked at the boy with black-rimmed glasses looking at him with a frown on his head. He knew that his words had gone too far and the matter of his soul was a delicate topic, so he stopped talking and continued eating his piece of chocolate cake.

"Heh…" the little Princess smiled and almost laughed at his disgrace.

"What are you laughing at?" Billie looked ready to murder someone.

"What?" Anne raised a brow at the red mark in the forehead of Billie, it was a bit swollen and red. "Can't I laugh at your expense? Who can stop me?"

Billie clenched his fists again and took another piece of cake, "Well, I guess you can only look at another couple flirting from afar as you can't…"

He couldn't stop his words when the face of his opponent turned sour and then filled with unrestrained anger, and just a few seconds later, some tears appeared in her bright golden eyes. Anne looked at him as if he had done something so unbelievably cruel.

"That… I…" Billie didn't know what to say and even tried to pass a bit of his chocolate cake to the princess.

"Are you happy now?"

The voice of John came exactly at that moment. He had stood up from his seat across the room and arrived at the side of the princess to give her a tight hug.

"John, babe… I didn't want to…" Billie was lost in words as he didn't know that the Princess would be that sensible and frail. Though, if he were to be in her shoes, he will be the same, even worse.

He commended the strength of his opponent. To stand such heartbreak with just fruit tarts was impressive.

However, Tia knew that it was not only fruit tarts.

Second. She was more irritable than before, she will go to the economics faculty to mistreat some elders for fun or just simply go to the Druon tower to ask the wizard for some crazy potions to strengthen her power. Then without notice, she will dress into her John Smith disguise and challenge the knights' club.

They cannot stop her at all, and they cannot say no to her, too. So they just battle her and gave a prayer to the Gods above to not let Henry know about that.

[…

Just a few more and everything would end but then… just then something happened. No one knew with detail how or who gave the info of the secret camp to the enemies, and the soldiers of General Levy were raided cruelly.

If not for the soldiers of Prince Ethan du Lith, the third son of the King of Lith, and the father of the most outstanding princess of Lith and the now Crown Prince of Lith, Anne, and Ilian, then the whole people of General Levy would have died.

The battle stopped right then, the soldiers of Prince Ethan were powerful and stronger than the wasted warriors of Halse. They showed mercy to those who wanted it, but not all of them.

There was no need to keep deserters and liars in the world. So the Prince decided to end their lives there without a trial. The cruelty he saw with his own eyes on the prisons and the slave camps was enough of a justification for him.

The blood of hundreds of mercenaries and Halse soldiers dyed the lands of the north. From then on, no one had stepped inside those tall stone walls, as they said a powerful and evil creature was born from the hatred of those soldiers. No one was able to verify it, though.]

"Tia…" Anne looked at her maid on the side, "I think… I have a stomach ache," her little tears and the hand on her stomach were making the picture of the Princess a pitiful sight.

"Sigh… we should take you to the infirmary, my Princess," Tia took a pill from her bag and handed it to the Princess. It was the special medicine of Wizard Druon. "Let's go."
