The Queen's Cosmetician
Chapter Four: Concealing Mages 2
Just like the day you first set foot across the gate, the streets of the city are full of people. It's even hard to walk by waving the big hand. Heath is leading the way, so it seems that Die can move on. If I lost my mind, my little die body was going to be pushed away quickly.
"Are you following me properly?
"Yes."
Occasionally Heath looks back and sees if the die is walking properly. Chasing that broad back, Die blurred that it was also in anticipation of this situation that this man ended up leaving his job and getting out of the carriage.
"Yeah, right down the next alley."
"Yes."
Following Die's instructions, Heath scratches people. With all due respect, Die once again tightened his mind in an effort to make sure that there was no only deviation for now.
The city, the king's capital of Delligeria, is pierced by a single street from the castle to the white sand wilderness.
This is the spotlight, and it is now a place where people from home and abroad meet each other because of the festivities. Several boulevards exist in such a way that they are parallel or intersecting the streets. The compartments surrounded by these are the so-called commercial districts, and the shops, bureaux, mansions of millionaires and separate houses of nobility, which were the Lord, stand radially around the dioceses and squares that festive the Virgin.
Outside it is the area known as the back street. Though it is named Behind, etc., the layers of residents living in it were thick and a place where the majority of the population of this capital would gather. It is also a place where the uncertain of identity nest in the shade of the night for people to gather together.
The destination store was in the corner of the main street among the backstreets.
When I walked into the alley, it was hitting and turning and quiet with the boulevard. Thin cobblestones are stretched to such an extent as whether two adults can pass side by side. There was a cold breeze blowing down the street where a drifter-footed old man wore a thin dirty hat deep into his eyes to occasionally show off his mole. It's a damp breeze that even makes you smell a certain way.
"You, were you trying to come alone on this street?
"Huh? Yes..."
Heath stops once and looks down with a frightened eye. As he tilted his neck wondering what was wrong, Die pointed across the barrel of liquor placed on the street, at a dull blue-gray door that was so distracted by the wall.
"There. The store there."
"This store?
"Yes."
There are no signs out there, and it's dim beyond the bold stuck in the door. It seems that the shade screen visible through the window is also caught on the verge of decay.
"... really?
You're kidding, Heath sues me out of the blue.
"It's true."
Die grinned and nodded bitterly, reaching out from his side and opening the door.
"There you go...... oh, die!
Behind an elongated space like just remodeling an alley, the shopkeeper takes a seat to welcome the die. Sometimes unusual, Die glanced.
The location of this store is close to the main street, but it often works for the night's residents, and the store opens in the evening. Daytime customers were not refused, but they needed to wake up the owner. I thought that would happen again today.
Forty years. He decorates his left ear with three series of gems, with gold chains on his hands and narrow neck. He is a man with a fox-like face, wearing a woman's garment embroidered on her skinny body.
"It's a hiccup!
"Yeah, it's been a while, Miguel."
To Die's greeting, the shopkeeper's man laughed with his thin lips bent all around.
"I heard that. You finally got out of Flower Street?
"Yep."
Finally, on the part of, Die snorted bitterly.
"Thanks to you. Excuse me, Miguel. I just don't have a minute... what's here, can we get it all together now?
"Yeah?"
The greeting is there, too, and I give Miguel a piece of writing. I wrote down what I needed in advance. Having glimpsed the received paper, he further narrows his dripping thin eyes.
"It's a lot steeper."
"Yep. I know. Excuse me."
"I think we can have some..."
Miguel gently licked her lips and squeezed her jaw as she laid her hands on the work desk and waved a piece of paper.
Following Miguel's gaze past his head, Die looked back behind him. near the entrance to the store. From groceries such as flour and sugar, to daggers decorated with decorations and jewels, to strange wood-carved dolls, there was Heath, who looked around in a store lined with so many cluttered pieces that there was nothing to match anyway, half rare and half frigid. They noticed this one's gaze. He slowly walks over to the die.
"Are you done?
"No. Not yet."
"Wow......!!
Suddenly up Miguel's odd voice made Die unconsciously jump his body.
"Hey Die, you colored man!
He grabs this shoulder and shakes it so magnificently even this one. I felt nauseated at the sight I could shake.
"Mi, Miguel!? Calm down."
"Introduce me, introduce me, introduce me!
"Okay! Because I get it!
I can push his body away somehow, closing my heart to how excited Miguel is. While correcting his collar, Die looked up to Heath to see how he was doing.
He shows obvious perplexity in the adhesive gaze of the shopkeeper. If anyone was sent such an autumn wave by forty men, they would be unable to help themselves. I forgot Miguel was so vulnerable to guys like Heath. The owner of this shop is a muscled male family.
Die seriously regretted that Heath should have waited outside.
But there's no way I'm not introducing you to Miguel. Otherwise, I don't think I can get him to do his job.
"Yeah, he is."
"Miguel"
The die, who was about to open his mouth, blinked frustrated by the voice of the man who had interrupted him.
"What the hell? What was that odd noise earlier? You got a visitor?
Behind Miguel, a man shows up, trying to push the dim from the warehouse behind the store. To a familiar face, Die accidentally raised his voice.
"Rowen!?
"Die?"
Surprised or behold, a man approaches me faster walking. The man who bypassed Miguel and lined up next to the die gently slapped the die's shoulder in delight.
"Oh, my God, it's been a while! How have you been?
Dark-haired brunette middle meat middle back. It's a rare man around here, facing the people of the Eastern Continent. Was the year definitely around the middle of the twentieth? It's been six months since I've seen your face.
"Yeah, I'm fine"
Die smiled at himself.
"How was Rowen, too? It's been a really long time."
"Yeah. It's no different.... because I didn't go to Hanaya recently. How's Asma?
"Uh... maybe I'm fine"
"Maybe?"
"I left the flower district, this girl."
Miguel supplements by pointing to the die. The tone seemed slightly grumpy because of the interruption of the conversation.
Moaning in surprise, Rowen seems to have finally noticed the man standing behind the die. Face up, he turns back to Heath.
"Die...... what about this one?
"It's one of my new destinations."
With Rowen's appearance, Heath got me back, too. With his usual smile on his face, he offered Rowen his hand.
"Nice to meet you, my name is Heath"
"... Heath?
It was stretched out to give Heath back a handshake, Rowen's hand stops.
"... something?
Heath's eyebrows hissed at Rowen's gaze as he explored something. I guess you noticed that reaction. Loosely he shook his head sideways, with a good smile of people, Rowen apologizes.
"... no. I'm sorry. Something went wrong. You've made me uncomfortable."
"Mistake?"
"Never mind. It's boring.... My name is Rowen. Go ahead, get to know me."
"Be polite"
Heath, thanking Rowen, seemed to have taken only a small step back. His motion not to be touched before. The dye, which was about to make sense, circles his eyes into Miguel's hand, which is sticking out of his side all the time. His hand dancing through the universe, flickering, seemed to have been stretched out for Heath to shake his hand.
Looking half-eyed at that hand, Die introduces the shopkeeper.
Heath, this is Miguel.
"Nice to meet you..."
"Yep. Welcome."
Heath grinned lightly and ignored his hand, while Miguel let him drop his shoulder so blatantly that he could see beside him. The shopkeeper, with a big sigh, looks down at the die with a half-eyed look and asks jealously.
"... you mean we should have this for now?
Miguel said it was the one who got tired of Heath, so why should I be turned to look at him like that? Die ignored the meaning of his gaze and snorted at him with a smile.
"Please"
Reluctantly on Die's smile, Miguel grabbed the paper from the catalogue he had just given him and returned his heel. Heath, who made sure he disappeared behind the store, eliminated the tension.
Die couldn't help laughing.
"Are you that bad?
To inquire, Heath is keeping her mouth shut. The way it is, it doesn't get any stranger.
"... apparently, things are going well in the new place"
Rowen, who was watching Heath alternately with this one in his arms, murmured in a smudged tone.
It reminds me of yesterday, and without that, I'm going to zero my stupidity. But controlling such a die, Heath agreed with him.
"You're doing great."
Heath's words don't say anything.
Die remembered the illumination and accidentally tried to change the subject.
"Speaking of which, what the hell was Rowen doing here?
"Me?
"Yes.... it's lunch now"
Rowen is a doctor based in the backstreet. And he had guests at night, just like Miguel. It is unusual after Miguel's current time activities, such as seeing Rowen during the day.
"That's something you can call it. I didn't think we'd be bowling at this hour."
"... because it's the opposite of a new workplace, a flower district, day and night"
"Oh, really?
Rowen asks with a glimpse of Heath. Die nodded.
"Yep. It was hard until my body got used to it."
"I know. I know. I've been in the morning lately."
I did my hand on a short cut brunette, and for some reason I laughed lightly, he said.
"Really?
"Yeah. Well... I'm thinking it's time to go back to the night. I can't help but feel inconvenient because my colleagues and patients are mostly night-time."
Then why did you become a morning type? Rowen continues his words before the die speaks the question.
"Even here today, as usual, I just came to pick up the ingredients for my medication... and Miguel told me to look for the product myself because I had fallen asleep"
"Oh, so you were in the back"
Follow the story and casually see the warehouse where Miguel disappeared. Were they caught in the die, and Heath and Rowen also watched the warehouse, which was closed in the dark and could not see how it was going. Sounds like things bump into each other. Strange screams, sandwiched in between.
"... are you okay?
Heath groans with a suspicious frown. I shrugged my shoulder and Rowen smiled.
"Well, it's the usual thing. It's okay."
Heath asks with her eyes whether Rowen spoke or not, but Die did not deny it.
Keeping a silent eye on the entrance to the warehouse. Often Miguel returns to the store with a large crate. He has turned a resentful eye to this one gathering in the center of the store.
"If you're free, you can help! Especially Die! This is all yours!
"Ugh. Excuse me."
I rush over and apologize to Miguel, who rocks the crate up and down screaming. On this arm stretched out in fear, Miguel gained momentum and lowered the crate. Really not very popular.
Confirming that there was no space on the work desk while opening up to the weight on his arm, Die decided to rent a table that was being driven at the store wall. Sculpture engraved on the edge It is obvious that its wooden table is for sale, something that is completely unlike for work, but I can't say four or five. The crate is probably too heavy, and if I give in to the spot, I'm going to pinch my finger. I needed to put this somewhere in a hurry.
Hence, the die, who was suspiciously headed to the table, suddenly stopped in surprise at the hand that had been stretched from the side.
"Heath?"
"You can't watch it because it's dangerous. Lend me."
Groaning in sighing, Heath easily took the crate from Die's arm. He puts what he just holds down on the table as it is. Not long ago. Die stared half relieved at Heath's back, but eventually closed his lid to the bitter emotions that had crept up to his throat.
(... but only)
This body is fragile and weak everywhere.
"I couldn't get it all together. Especially cosmetics."
"Huh. That's the most important thing."
Die groaned as he surfaced from the sea of thought to Miguel poking out the paper in place of the inventory of goods. Under the crate Heath put me in, I rush over.
"That's not a cosmetic case, is it?"
At first glance at the cosmetic bag occupying the top of the crate, Die shrugged.
"I had a cosmetic bag just the right size for you. Sturdy. That would be more convenient to carry, and lighter."
"Thank you"
While thanking you, I will lower the cosmetic bag on the floor that is disturbing my work and check the other items again. Sponges, cotton cloths, brush spares, disinfectants, and other, sesame tools.
Inside the crate, most of the objects specified by the die were aligned. I didn't think of it when I wrote it on paper, but there are quite a few pieces and quantities. Not only was it slammed against the wall by Mariage's hand and wasted, but it would also be because the amount was reduced quickly or he didn't have a spare, because he wrote it down in extra eyes. If Heath hadn't followed me, I'd have had to ask Miguel to help me carry him.
I just finished looking through everything, and Die sighed.
"... oh, really not"
Emollient or lotion, dropping powder, practicing powder. Some of them I want in a hurry.
"When are you coming in?
"Mm-hmm. I don't know."
"Don't know?
"Yes."
Miguel nodded at Die's inquiry and removed a bunch of documents from the shelves set up near the warehouse. It would be a ledger with a counterpart in it. I lick my fingertips and he starts rolling them yellow.
"What you're using isn't what a regular facialist uses. It's a little special..."
"What does that mean?
It wasn't Die who mouthed the question. It is Heath. Speaking to him, Miguel began his narrative with joy.
"I wholesale other facialists and merchants in tiny countries where pigments can be removed well, but what I'm wholesale to die is what women personally make."
"Huh. Was that all made with one hand?
Compared to other cosmeticians, the die uses it with an overwhelming number and variety of products. Especially colors.
Surprised next to this one, Rowen, who has seen Die's work tools many times, put his arms together and roared into admiration.
"Alone... wow"
"Well, you know, they say it's special. He lived alone, and he had some rare herbs. Well, he's coming. Cosmetic products are also available at that time. It's so whimsical, I don't know when it's coming."
"But I've never done that before."
It was the first time I used the same thing as the other cosmeticians, but it was the first time since I started using the current one because I happened to have something good in it for Miguel, such as "out of stock".
"Even though I don't know when I'm coming, I used to come here regularly... Yeah. They're here the other month."
That's how Miguel played a bunch of paper like a ledger with his fingers.
"Maybe he started doing business with a different store from ours"
"Oh, no."
"Which one of you lives there?
Hand controlled the grieving die, Heath pinching his mouth.
He added the intent of the question, either because of the gathered gaze or because he frowned uncomfortably.
"If you even know where it is, it would be quicker to go get it. … if you live nearby."
"Unfortunately, it's not even where I live..."
Merchants like Miguel deal with illegal customers as well. It is implicit that we do not explore our identity. Though I knew, Die couldn't hide his disappointment.
Miguel rushes to pinch his mouth to see how this one looks like.
"Well, I guess I can figure out where it is."
"Heh? Where is it?
To Rowen's inquiry, Miguel pushes silence. Earlier remarks will mean rest for this one.
"Fine. We'll do something with what we have for a while."
smiling back at Miguel, who seemed sorry, Die said.
"It's bad. I know you live outside the walls..."
"Outside the walls? Does that mean the next town?
"Town, it's not like that."
Miguel responds to Heath's question.
"He said something like in the middle of the wilderness..."
"... maybe we can talk about something in the town we're headed to"
Take after Miguel clouding his word butt, Heath said. Rowen tilts his neck.
"Town? Outside the walls?
"Yep. I have business to attend to, so you can ask at last. Making a deal in this city won't mean you're that far from the walls. You're going to the nearest city."
"Oh, yeah."
An arm-wrapped Rowen expressed his agreement with Heath's words.
"One woman would be a hassle to get further away. You choose to be a nearby town and a village."
"That's right. Besides, if a woman lives in the wilderness by herself, she'll stand out. There should be rumors in town. The merchant will say."
If you live in a land of nothing, you enter with no response in the eyes of the merchants who travel endlessly through the wilderness. Through them, it should go up to the townspeople's mouths, Heath says.
I see, and Die roared.
"If I could figure out a place like that, I'd go. Is that all right? Die."
He shook the story, and Die nodded. Where would it be, such as a reason to say no?
"Shall I carry the goods for now?"
As such, Rowen responds with his arms wrapped around Heath, who begins to clean up the product spread out on the table.
"Oh, I'll help you, too."
"Yes, that's fine. I'll do it!
On the backs of the two men, Die screamed in panic. I was going to ask you to help, but I'm sorry to just let you carry it all, etc. But neither Heath nor Rowen seemed to have any intention of letting Die serve them.
"Can you hold the product and scratch the crowd?
Calmly pointed out to Heath with a twisted eye, Die pulled his lips together.
"... you should know what your power is."
I stare at Miguel, who pinches his mouth, thinking it's eight hits. Heath asked me over and over.
"Can you do that?
I don't think I can do it.
Die, who remembered the hissing boulevard, cursed his impotence and accidentally succumbed to the occasion.
