The Queen's Cosmetician
Chapter vi the impersonator to rally 1
A gray rain knocks on the window.
A room full of silence. The skinny woman's arms are stretched out. Fingertips to touch were cracked. Just waiting for the time to smash and scatter, as if to symbolize a woman's life.
"Please -..."
The woman begs. There is madness in its eyes. I don't see myself. Close your eyes. I held back and whispered about the body of a woman eroded by the devil.
'I know. I know. So already.'
"Die."
As I revisited my plans for today, Titianna hung up on me. Sitting face to face with a die, she slaps the window with her fingertips.
"We're gonna get there."
Before she showed, Die moved her gaze. The streets lined with high walls and hedges are coming to an end. A more splendid gate emerged at the end of the street than any house I had ever seen, and beyond it I could see an even more endless path and greenery.
It is the entrance to the Gertrude family.
The queues, including the carriage in which the Dies servants ride, and the carriage in which Mariage and Heath are invited, are present, are sucked into the premises of his house.
Die laid his eyes down at the dazzle of the morning sun, which had just risen.
A feast day begins.
Invitees and servants break up once after entering the premises. Invitees to the main entrance. The servants go to the back gate.
Stepping inside the mansion, the die accidentally leaked an exclamation exhale.
"Ha..."
Overwhelmed and speechless.
Though I thought the Mizwieri mansion was a bit like a castle, the Gertrude family was a ruggedly luxurious castle itself. I'm not talking about a mansion that has been taken care of, by standard. It is as if the mansion itself is a single piece of art of beauty.
Exquisite sculpture and a hallway with witchcraft. Blooming flowers. The aroma from that petal fills the air like a perfume. Arranged photographic paintings. Classy fine workmanship. Crafts. In Del Ligueiria, a small country in arts and crafts, investing in art is above all honorable.
"Artwork, that's an amazing number"
"They're all made exclusively by Gertrude artisans. Exactly."
To the words of Titianna walking next door, I wonder how many craftsmen the hell this house is carrying, distracting.
"There's not a single artisan in the Mizwilli family."
Titianna's pointer just entered the die, which groaned greatly at the difference between the two houses.
"Oh, you're not even a makeup artisan."
If you ask me, you were right.
Ahead of where the Dies are currently headed is the hall located at the corner of the mansion. The guests' servants, including the die, will be gathered there to hold meetings on the precautions to be taken in using the mansion, the details of this ceremony, and what to do if something goes wrong. That said, the attending servants, in attending this feast for a whole day, did not, and were limited to those serving the house of senior aristocrats. The number of people who were gathering ahead of arrival is also well below the expectations of the die estimated from the number of carriages. Though it must never be a small number.
"Titi!"
One unfamiliar servant rushes over, waving the crowd. Titianna, who raised her face, let her face shine all the time.
"Wow, it's been a while! I was fine!?
"I was!
Joining hands with Titianna, the woman jumps and begins to interact about each other's recent developments. Apparently she was a samurai who worked for another house. Not only Titianna, but all the other colleagues accompanying her to this feast were also greeting the facial acquaintances of other houses with ease. Apparently, these places are an opportunity for exchanges among servants.
"Oh, and the Mizweeri folks are good. Mariaj has become a queen, but she's no different."
I look around lightly and a woman whispers. Titianna tilted her neck.
"Really?"
"That's right. The Queen's Candidate's house is almost everywhere, but Gertrude's kids are terrible. Even today, when I saw him in the hallway, he was very tight. All Arishuel brags about. At the end of the day, take this one down. You usually get hit by a nobleman. They're coming at us, so it's not something that's stuck."
"Aristocrats?
Hearing the unheard words, Die was unwittingly asking back.
"That, hey. The Face Child Who Won't Look."
It's the first time they've noticed the existence of a die. The woman, with her eyes rounded properly, tilts her neck and looks down at the die.
"Yeah. We're new in."
"Heh."
To the woman's bright greeting, Die lowered his head with a pepper.
"Yes, thank you.... So, what's the aristocracy?
"Die may not be very familiar."
With a bitter smile, Titianna has answered.
"You know, advanced aristocrats can follow intermediate and lower aristocrats?
"Yes. Once."
From the actions of the aristocratic Viscounts, who were guests of the flower streets, I originally understood them as blurred, and since coming to this side of the gate, I have learned them as general education.
Simply put, the aristocracy is grouped together like a detachment party, and the aristocracy deserving of superiority is like its head. Advanced nobility protects and sometimes facilitates the nobility attached below. In return, lower nobles always rush when things happen. It may also be used as a hand and foot to assist in the management of territory.
Apparently, the number of aristocracy that can be obeyed is also set as a condition for senior aristocracy.
"A noble child attached to the house of a senior nobleman comes to work as an apprentice."
That's the aristocracy, Titianna explained. Go on. Her friend supplements.
"And we don't get along well with dedicated servants who serve from our parents' behalf. The same goes for being born and raised, and of course not for the job description. Anyway, I get angry a lot, but the other guy's a bent nobleman, so we're often sipped more boiled water."
"... I see"
I nodded convincingly and realized.
"Um, but the Mizweeri family."
There is no such thing as a nobleman.
"Yeah."
Titianna, who seems to have drawn meaning, gave an affirmation to Die.
"You're not at home. The number of houses I obeyed was decreasing year after year... so much so that Master Mariage became a queen candidate and finally, there was a house to support me. That's too many conditions for a senior aristocrat. They must be too busy ruling their territory."
"There's power in these places, too."
Next to Titianna, a woman sighs.
"Titty. It's bad for you, but I still think the Queen might be Master Arishuel. Gertrude's servant. But Master Arishuel... well done."
Prefer poetry and dance like a fairy. Gentle and fair to everyone, beautiful.
Titianna just shrugged her shoulders with a bitter smile.
As if I had anticipated the end of the conversation, the servants of the Gertrude family would come into the room in rows. They were all beautiful, but they were all as faceless as dolls. But the number is comparable to that of the gathered ones. Collecting everything that serves the Mizweeri family will not have half of them.
Die pulled Titianna's sleeve and asked.
"Titi, who are the aristocrats in that?
"Die, they're all like us."
Titianna stares back with a frightened look.
"The aristocrats are the guests. By now I'm entertaining the mariages."
-... at this rate, it's certainly going to end with another dream of dreams, such as Mariage being elected queen.
I knew very well what it was like to even claim Mariaj that there was no way she could be queen, and Die stood up in silence.
Although on the back, it is the first feast between nobles to participate.
The more we went through the day and the more Guan Guan, the more overwhelming the difference between the Gertrude and Mizwieri families was. The size of the house, including servants. Number of houses to support. Above all, Arishuel's reputation is even praised among the servants of other houses.
Compared to other queen candidates as well as mariages, it was an impeccable one.
"I want to go home"
At the end of the lunch, that was the word Mariage said most openly when she came back. I can't help it. The air drifts everywhere I am convinced that Arishuel will be queen. It will reach the die on the back, so it will not be an offensive story for Mariage to stand on the surface stage.
The morning tea party, the lunch party, the afternoon tea party and each time the appointments were digested and returned to the refrain room, Mariage's mood followed a path of deterioration. Instead, I just didn't make a scene in the morning, and as for her, I guess that's how I put up with it.
"Worst. Worst. That's why I didn't want to come here. All of you, Arishuel, sing a hymn!
Mostly, he even let tears seep in and Mariage groaned.
"Arisuel's father is my worst taste. You want to bring people down? Just say a few words that you don't even have in mind. There's more to ridicule than that! I wouldn't do that if I felt sick!
Beating the fan he had in his hand on the floor that it was the limit of patience, Mariage steps on the community too. Heath calmly pinched her mouth next to the wrathful, wretched, picking it up die that was hit with anger.
"Dear Mariage, that's normal"
"What, are you crazy about me?!?
"I didn't say that. I simply say that it is the purpose of the social community to improve interactions between houses by smiling and praising each other."
"Disgusting"
"Yep. I think it's a farce. Me too."
Heath, who agrees with Mariage, also came here and the colour of fatigue is darker. Apparently Arishuel's father, the invitee, didn't let go of him whose name came to be known as a result of performing his extraordinary work as a proxy for the Mizwieri family.
Dressed properly and stroking his hair, he looks like a noble Viscount by joking. Its beauty, its competence. I guess the raw man who seeks him, whispers sweet words and rubs him off constantly.
"It's a farce, but this is very important."
Mariage stares outrageously at Heath, who laughs at her.
"... you know what? You did. All of us Queen candidates who were invited were used as Alishuel's drawers. Behind that, praising us for nothing, but not against my daughter, it's annotated."
"Yep. I know."
Farewell affirmed, Heath continued.
"I have no choice. The power is too different between the Mizwieri and Gertrude families. Such irrational treatment is only spoiled and flushed by the Queen's vessel."
Heath's words are correct.
No consolation at all, that's a lie. I guess it's because I understand that. Without disputing it, Mariage tied her lips and squealed her heels high in frustration. She moves with Titianna to the next room to get dressed as she is.
Mariage's rage echoes through the door. Titianna's whispering voice.
Heath, it's cold.
"Words of comfort are yours to hang."
To Heath, who responded firmly, Die could not forbid to sigh.
"... I think"
Restore your mind and cut out the story as the mariages stare at the door to the room that disappeared to get dressed.
"Dear Mariage, you are very sensitive to the emotions of others."
"Do you think so?
"Yep. I feel like I'm reading too much behind words by observing the look on their faces and stuff as if I'd get tired if I cared so much. I think I know exactly how to flatter you or really compliment you."
At first, I thought Mariage's hatred of the social world came from sheer lack of confidence. But isn't the fundamentals that have made her humble in the deceitful words she is bathed in? The more heartless praise she receives, the less confidence she loses.
I thought it would be on my face to be frequently read through my mind, but Mariage is the only one who comes up with the idea of a die. I'm not blatantly moving my expression. Mariage's talent for reading minds is high.
"So you think these places are disgusting too..."
I wish I could simply break it off as a social dictionary, but Mariage can't do that. From the die born in Ichii, her sensibilities are terribly straightforward. But it will be hard on this side.
"Heath, are you okay?
Die looked up at the man beside him and asked.
Heath is the same as Mariage again, and she is terribly satiated by people's timidity. Very unlike Mariage, he breaks everything up as a job, but it can't be hard. What I pushed to kill was supposed to raise my temper somewhere.
"It's okay."
Heath, who has looked down, lightly mounts her hands on the die's head.
"I'm used to it. There's nothing like this."
That's what I said, and he chuckled fluffily.
A delicate sugar sweet, or a warm sunny, gentle smile that fills the room through the bold on a spring day.
Only from time to time, he laughs like this.
He often looks tough in the Mizwieri family carrying challenges, and he has a sharp voice flying instructions to the butlers, but he's probably a very well looked after, terribly gentle young man by birth. I don't know what kind of contract I had with Mariage's father, but otherwise I can't possibly do it, such as keep supporting this house this way after his death.
"Well."
Heath took her hand off Die's head and corrected her collar as it was.
"I'll go first"
"Are you going now?
There's still time before the dinner party starts. Everyone worked in costumes like Mariage.
"Because there are gentlemen in the venue first to get interested in tobacco, booze and billboarding."
To negotiate with them, and Heath laughs. That smile that even remembers the thinning cold, which has changed since I hit it earlier.
I sympathized with the gentlemen who would be able to interact with him from now on, and Die clapped in his chest.
"Tell Master Mariage I'll be back to pick you up by the end of your change of clothes"
"Okay."
Confirming that the die has undertaken, Heath begins to walk towards the door. The door opens and closes quietly and the footsteps stay away.
Really, I wish I had some more rest.
Heath, who initially declared he was going to run away after just saying hello, doesn't look as rested as he would say with his mouth. I guess it wasn't just that he couldn't get anything out of the inviter's story that he couldn't get back to while he was holding back. They must be actively turning to sell mariages. Work enthusiasm is fine, but each time I blamed him for his fatigue, I could not help but wish I had some more rest.
Nevertheless, we cannot afford to be frightened. When Mariage is done dressing, it's her turn.
Drink water and spread your cosmetic tools over the table. In view of the fact that today's noon was sweaty cheerful, it would be more beautiful to have all the makeup removed once and re-done from the beginning.
Just after drawing water into the bathroom and arranging all the sets of tools, the mariages faced out of the sorting room.
