Chapter 1 Part 1

Tang Xi was experiencing a baffling situation. The moment she accidentally tore the talisman given by her venerable master, the scenery in front of her blurred, and she was suddenly in another place along with someone else’s memory in her mind.

A while ago, she read a lot of dog-blood romance novels online since she was feeling bored. There happened to be a villainess named Tang Xi in one of the novels. The experience of the first half of her life was completely consistent with the extra memory in her mind, so that means she transmigrated into the novel, and became the villainess, Tang Xi?

According to the original owner’s memory, this should be the scene at the beginning of the novel.

The story-line of this novel is –

Sixteen years ago, Tang Xi’s mother gave birth to her at a city hospital. Baby Tang Xi was born premature and weak so she had to be put in an incubator. Unfortunately, a fire broke out in the hospital at that time. In the chaos, a nurse made a mistake which resulted in Tang Jing being taken back to the Tang family as their youngest daughter. Tang Jing’s parents died in the fire and her grandma relied on the compensation money to take care of Tang Xi. Sixteen years later, Tang family unexpectedly discovered the truth and brought Tang Xi home.

Tang Xi pursed her lips, feeling dissatisfied. Why couldn’t she have transmigrated a little earlier?! she would be able to hide far away and not provoke this weird family!’

“Miss Tang Xi, please keep up.” The housekeeper leading the way has a straight waist and raised chin. Her words might be polite but the tone she used was laced with a strong contempt.

“Oh.” Tang Xi replied dully and walked a few steps faster, but when her eyes passed over the fountain, she suddenly stiffened and her footsteps stopped.

A soaked ghost slowly emerged from the white ceramic tiled fountain basin. With pale and wrinkled skin, its black eyes without any white stared at her rigidly. Its seaweed-like long black hair poured out from the basin onto the ground covering half the basin’s wall. The ghost’s lower body was still in the water, but its upper body was lying on the edge of the basin as if crawling out and droplets of water dripped down from two skinny arms onto the ground.

The housekeeper turned her head discontentedly. “Miss Tang Xi, the villa is in front, please don’t keep everyone waiting.”

Tang Xi didn’t hear the housekeeper. The ghost caught her interest. In her original world, the Taoist masters have eradicated most demons and ghosts from urban areas. One has to go deep into the mountains if they want to catch ghosts. But this ghost…lives in the fountain…?

Tang Xi’s lack of reply caused the housekeeper to frown in disgust. She followed Tang Xi’s gaze and gasp in surprise before walking over to the fountain. She murmured while touching the tiles, “Why is it leaking again? Wasn’t this repaired last week?”

“…” Tang Xi’s mouth twitched. She watched the housekeeper putting her hands right into the ghost’s head and thought about whether to tell her; the ghost might find her actions impolite.

“Never mind, I’ll ask someone to repair it tomorrow.” The nanny shivered; feeling cold and uncomfortable for no reason. Her expression changed back to the original haughty look when she faced Tang Xi again, “Miss Tang Xi, please pick up your pace.”

Tang family is one of the wealthiest families in Jiangnan; their villa was so ridiculously large that it took her more than ten minutes to walk from the gate to the main house.

Tang Xi just felt hopeless, she looked at the water ghost in the fountain, the hanging ghost on the locust tree, the female ghost in a red wedding gown sitting on the swing, the orange cat on the wall with a two meters long tail shrouded in black fog and couldn’t help but think, ‘Letting so many ghosts wander freely, even allowing them to share a house with living people! What happened to the Taoists living in this world? Have they all died?’

The housekeeper thought Tang Xi was looking around because she had never seen these fancy things in her life, ‘This village bumpkin will definitely cause the Tang family to lose their face!’

When they finally walked into the villa, Tang Xi saw that everyone from the Tang family, except for Tang Jing who was still in class, was present. The original owner’s parents Tang Zhenying and Yang Wenqiu, and her two older brothers, the eldest Tang Zhan, who entered the family company after graduating, and her second bother, Tang Zhao, a sophomore at the university. In addition, there was a 30-year-old man in a suit standing next to her father. It was Tang Zhenying’s personal assistant Zhang Zixiu.

Tang Xi frowned slightly after taking a look at the interior; she instinctively disliked this place.

The light from the gorgeous crystal chandelier shone on porcelain marble tiles on the floor and two spiral staircases on each side lead to a second floor. Even the pillars have dragon and phoenix carvings on them.

Everything looks extravagant but… it looked too cold to be called a home…
