[Renée’s POV]

→ Muse is as expected, a dragon?

I tackled it in the corner of my mind, thinking if I was taking too big of a leap, but no matter how much I thought about it, my guess seemed reasonable.

I thought so at the time, but there is absolutely no way that the spirit of a dragon would ever call a human with the highest honorific title.

I’ve only met him twice, but he probably considers all beings, not just humans, to be below him.

Then, wouldn’t the only existence that dragons can respect, is as expected, the same dragon?

Maybe that muse is a very, very scary person, so he’s using honorifics?

As if possessed, I blankly looked at the writing I had written, then shook my head and drew two lines.

There’s absolutely no way that would be the case. The black half-dragon from the other day was not afraid of the Hugo Knights, who almost annihilated dragons, and couldn’t help but want to kill them.

“Hmm…”

In the end, if the person Bradley calls Muse is actually a dragon, the situation will be like this.

1. The person the Bradley brothers met two months ago is a dragon.

2. Then the dragon gave the two dragon bones.

In other words, the dragon stole the dragon bones… …?

“Then why…”

As the puzzle pieces seemed to come together little by little, I furrowed my brow and covered my forehead.

My heart began to beat unpleasantly.

“Then why is the dragon asking me to bring me…?”

And there are still things that bother me. Bradley, who confronted me, said this in a gloomy voice and meaningfully.

‘Think about it. Who’s in that shell right now.’

Yeah. What the hell does that mean?

Isn’t this like that.

Like knowing that ‘I’ am in the body of ‘Renee Blair’.

“What are you talking about?”

At that time, a familiar voice was heard out of nowhere from a short distance, and I jumped silently and opened my eyes wide to find the source of the voice.

In a dark corner of the room that was hard to see, I saw a familiar coral-colored head on top of the sofa I had brought in a few weeks ago.

Quickly grasping the situation, I screamed.

“Redeeen! Oishh, You scared me! I was really surprised!”

“You should have called someone if you’re awake. Why are you in a daze alone?”

“Tra, trance….. What do you mean trance! Gosh, if Reden is there, you should tell me you’re there from the beginning!”

“I’ve been keeping my eyes closed for a while. What should I say?”

“What? Did you sleep here?”

“Yes.”

Perhaps true, his face, buried in the darkness, seemed to be full of drowsiness. The hair also seemed to be a bit messy.

“Why…?”

When I asked because I didn’t understand, Reden rather looked like he didn’t understand me asking that.

“What do you mean why? We should see if you get better.”

“Heok, can I assume that you cared for me?”

“… …”

He didn’t answer my question, but I could tell from the annoyed look on his face that he swallowed what he was saying. That’s how I see it because he doesn’t want to admit it.

Haha, feeling better for some reason, I forgot all the pain in my head until just now and smiled.

Reden, on the other hand, frowned and tousled the back of his hair, got up from the sofa, and came to me.

The scarlet candles made him more visible.

Starting with the legs, the upper body, and then the face. Coming from the darkness into the dim light, he pulled an empty chair and sat down.

I stared at him silently and poked the back of his hand with my finger.

“But don’t nurse me all night. You didn’t stay up all night nursing for a week, did you?”

“Why are you sure I stayed up all night?”

“Under your eyes are black, Marquis.”

“……Don’t forget that I always have a mountain of work.”

He answered bluntly and crossed his arms, but I smiled as if I knew everything. He only let out a soft sigh.

“There are so many things I need to hear from you…”

“Hmm…”

“Before that, let me ask you one thing. What were you doing?”

His eyes glanced at the paper in front of me.

Only then did I say, oops, and quickly tried to cover the paper with both hands, but his hands were very fast, as he was also crossing his arms.

Taking the paper with a fluttering sound, he took the paper and quickly scanned it, narrowing his eyes. And he asks in a voice of absurdity.

“What, this? As soon as I woke up, I was wondering what you were doing. Did you draw something?”

What do you mean drawing!

I wanted to argue, but I held it in. However, his next words infuriated me once more.

“Did you forget that you’re not good at art?”

“Be quiet?”

I swung my foot to kick him, but he avoided it with ease.

Tch, as I was panting,  I narrowed my eyes and was relieved inwardly.

Because in his eyes, that ‘writing’ seemed unreadable.

Reden put the paper down on the desk with a face that lost half his interest.

The letters written like earthworms in black on white paper are, yes.

It was not the language of this world.

I wasn’t sure until just a few seconds ago, but I’m sure now. It must be the language of my world that only I can read and understand.

‘That’s mean, by the way. I certainly have bad handwriting, but… What’s the point of dismissing it as a painting? It’s a little, huh?  Don’t you think it’s a language from another country?’

It was when I was grumbling inside.

Reden pointed somewhere and I followed his gaze, and then I saw an arm brace scattered on the floor.

Knowing right away what he was going to say, I took the lead.

“I’m all better.”

“You shouldn’t take dislocating your shoulder lightly.”

“Really, look!”

As I turned my arms around proudly, Reden closed his mouth as if he was at a loss for words. It looked like he couldn’t believe it.

For a while, he muttered that he didn’t know if I was healthy or weak, and then crossed his arms again.

Something about the overbearing posture made me a little nervous.

“Don’t be nervous, I won’t eat you.”

I don’t know how he knew I was nervous, but somehow he reassured me in a soft voice.

Feeling like a sinner for some reason, my eyes darted around and I asked quietly.

“Are you not going to scold me more?”

“What can I do? It’s already happened. Let’s move on. I mean you.”

“… …”

“What was the mission that day that you got a penalty?”

“Huh?”

Thanks to Reden’s question, I remembered the mission of the day that I had forgotten. It was difficult to say that it was a mission to kill people, especially Diwen, so I chose silence.

Reden sighed as if he knew I wouldn’t answer.

“It must have been a very difficult mission that you don’t even want to talk about?’

“Umm…”

“Yes. If you don’t want to talk, don’t. It’s okay. It’s all right.”

Reden stopped talking and pulled a chair closer to my face.

Coral-colored eyes, darkened by the candlelight, were shining more strongly than ever.

“If such a mission pops up in the future, no, or any mission, please discuss it. Am I here for nothing?”

“……Discuss?”

“Yes, you’re good at it, discussing. Something like asking what to do when a mission like this is released.”

“… … “

“Let’s assume that a malicious mission, the worst mission that is difficult to even say out loud. Still, don’t suffer alone and tell me. Wouldn’t it be better to have two heads than one?”

Only then did I know what Reden wanted to say.

“Reden, I didn’t discuss it with you that day, so maybe….. Were you upset?”

“Sometimes you blur the argument like this.”

He laughed so low that it was hard to tell if he was laughing or not, then he pulled back his upper body and leaned back against the chair.

“To be exact, I can’t see you sick for a week now.”

“… … .”

“Ten years ago, yes. Let’s say I didn’t know why, but now I know. Why you’re so sick.”

“… … .”

“I know everything, but I can’t do anything… … Just waiting endlessly for time to pass by……. I can’t do it anymore. For a week, if I knew what your mission was, and if I helped you with it. Suffering from a sense of helplessness, wondering if it would have been okay.… .”

TL/N: Awww Reden!!! T^T

He stopped talking.

He narrowed his brows and crossed his legs as if he had become uncomfortable with continuing the talk. It was a very blunt attitude.

“Just answer me. Discussing in the future, any mission.”

“…Reden.”

Hesitating to answer, I called him with a serious voice, and he stared at me with an uneasy look.

After looking into his eyes which were still shining brightly for a long time, I barely opened my mouth to ask cautiously.

“I’m saying this because I’m concerned*, but you didn’t cry when I was lying down, did you?”

TL/N: Full context is like excessively worrying/ anxious, kinda like an old person.

At the words that came out of nowhere, Reden looked blank for a moment before crumpling his face.

“Damn, you really have a knack for talking nonsense.”

“You didn’t cry?”

“I didn’t cry.”

“Aha, you didn’t cry.”

When I playfully grabbed the end of his words, Reden narrowed his eyes to tell me to stop.

It was clear that if I teased him any further, I would get nagging, so I tried my best to hold back and only smile.

“Anyway, I got it. I’ll listen to you. I didn’t know Reden thought that way, I.”

“…And this is a different story.”

He stopped staring at me coldly and shook his hand in the air to blow out the candle.

A dim light filled the room. It looked like the sun was about to rise.

Anyway, what else do you mean, what is it?

As soon as I stared without a word, Reden immediately continued.

“That night, what did Sir Fergus do?”

“That night? At the House?”

“No. After I went to call a carriage.”

Huh? What are you talking about?

I didn’t know what he was saying, so I was about to ask a question, but a scene flashed through my mind like a flash.

That night, when I was so nervous that my body was in pain because I didn’t know what penalty would come, there was a person who bent over and stared at me.

A person with black hair and self-confidence that I’m really used to.

“Ah right! I met Diwen then!”

“You talk as if you’ve forgotten.”

“I’ll say that because I’ve forgotten. But as soon as I met Diwen, I got a penalty……. I don’t know what to say when you ask what I did with him. I think I fainted right away…….”

Hmm. Reden, who showed an unsatisfactory reaction to my words, lowered his gaze. He seemed lost in thought.

A calm silence came naturally, and I hated that silence, so I muttered for nothing.

“By the way, Diwen must have been dumbfounded. I suddenly collapsed.”

“Well.”

“Well?”

“Never mind. That’s not what’s important.”

Then what is important.

I tilted my head to see if there was still something to say, and Rweden opened his mouth with a rather serious face.

“I heard about the incident a week ago from Sir Fergus and Solen.”

“Eung.”

“I read the report, and I interrogated the Bradley brothers.”

“Yes.”

“But the Bradley brothers didn’t open their mouths. Just laugh like he’s out of his mind. Even though one arm was cut off.”

Yeah, he had his arm cut off.

Suddenly, older brother Bradley, who was lying in a puddle of blood, came to mind.

It wasn’t a pleasant memory, so the moment I frowned without realizing it, Reden let out a very heavy sigh.

“Thanks to you, there is one thing I don’t know yet.”

“What is it?”

“It’s you.”

“……Me?”

He nodded his head instead of answering the dumbfounded question, rubbed his shadowy eyes for a moment, and then continued.

“I heard you dealt with one of Bradleys, but I didn’t hear the process and the results. Sir and Solen said they didn’t see either.”

“…….”

“The Bradley brothers don’t open their mouths, so I have to hear the truth from another person, but you’ve been unconscious for a week. So I’ve been thinking for a week. How on earth did you deal with Bradley, who became a half-dragon?”

Reden, who muttered as if he was talking to himself for a long time, suddenly reached out and grabbed my hand.

I looked down, wondering what I was doing, and soon after, Reden muttered with a face that was not convinced.

“You don’t even have the slightest bit of magic… …”

“What?”

“It means that I can’t understand how you dealt with half-dragon, as you have never learned swordsmanship or martial arts, let alone magic.”

“Yeah, of course…….”

I was about to tell him about the necklace Reden gave me, the biggest factor in overpowering Bradley, who became half-dragon that day, but I shut up.

No. It’s not like this… …

Reden looked at me curiously. I faced him without avoiding his gaze, and then opened my mouth with difficulty.

“I’ll tell you what happened that day.”

“Of course you have to, you speak like you’re patronizing.”

“Instead, don’t look at me like I’m crazy. I’m telling you exactly what I’ve been through.”

As if feeling ominous about my words, Reden narrowed his eyes.
