The Revenge Turned To Love

Chapter 160 - Hearts Pounding Like Crazy!

Mishi was walking through the lobby of the hall as fast as she could. She was startled by her unexpected kiss that happened with Xian. Her left foot was hurting because of the pressure she was putting on her left foot.

"Who was that man? I should've slapped him but my body didn't permit me, why? Why were his eyes so familiar? Who was he?," thought Mishi while walking through the lobby on the red carpet on the marbled floor.

On the other hand, Xian was confused about his strange feelings which were developing in his heart. He touched his lips and then took off his mask. "Why is my heart pounding like this? She's a complete stranger to me but why? What's happening? Is she the woman whom I am searching for? Is she Mi?," thought Xian and turned to see.

Xian saw Mishi was walking through the lobby to get into the hall. Xian's body pushed him to go forward and asked the woman about her name. He stepped forward and walked after her.

Mishi reached the hall and saw the lights were turned off. There were dim blue lights and she could only see the person in front of her. She was going to turn on the light of her phone when she was hit by someone and her phone fell on the floor.

Because it was dark, so she couldn't see where her phone actually fell. She forwarded her hand when someone pulled her hand and it was the same person according to her whom she accidentally kissed.

"Leave me," Mishi said in her low yet soft voice.

"I would love to but it's dark here and your foot is injured too. I think they turned off the lights as there was going to be a dance soon. Apologies for the inconvenience you've to face," said Xian politely.

Mishi nodded when a soothing dancing music started playing. The lights become slightly bright, making their faces slightly glow. Mishi was the masquerade mask still on Xian's eyes. Before Xian could actually ask Mishi her name, Zhao came there.

"You're here and I got worried that you've left the party on your own," said Zhao and looked at their hands. Xian was holding Mishi's hand. He lightly jerked off their hands which Xian noticed but he didn't say anything.

"Weng Wei called me so I went out to talk with him," Mishi gave him the reason. Zhao nodded and told her that everyone was waiting for her. They left from there leaving Xian there.

Lan Zhan and Lau were looking for Xian but couldn't find him. "Where did he go?," murmured Lau Lan. Suddenly Chunhua made the announcement that there will be a dance in the party. Actually it was their plan to make Mishi and Xian meet but Chunhua didn't know that Xian wasn't there so she made the announcement.

The light again turned dim. The invited guests gathered in the centre of the hall to have the dance. Xian walked towards his seat when he was pushed by someone from behind but he couldn't see the face as it was dark.

He kept walking and stopped along with the people. The music again started and everyone started dancing with their partners. The partners were being switched during the dance. Zhao took Mishi's hand and told her that they could dance in slow steps to which Mishi agreed.

Bai who was standing on the second floor of the hall, watching all the people from there. "Mark, you called me criminal, right. Now, I won't spare you. You will get your birthday gift today and trust me this gift will be a memorable one to you," muttered Bai under her breath and then smirked evilly.

"Madam, so should we start?," asked a masked man. Bai nodded and then gave a cunning smile.

In the hall everyone was dancing. The switching of partners kept going on. Lan Zhan and Lau Lan kept searching for Xian in the party but among those guests they weren't able to.

Mark in the centre of the hall first danced with her mother when Biyu said she's done dancing and wanted to rest. Mark took her mother from there. Xian reached the centre of the hall when someone hit him. He turned to see and it was Mishi. "Ahh," Mishi passed a low scream.

"Why are you dancing when your foot is injured?," questioned Xian in a deep, husky voice.

"I want to have fun like others," replied Mishi, looking at others. "Where's Zhao gone?," murmured Mishi when she felt Xian's hand on hers.

"Why don't we dance then? Your foot won't be hurt, trust me," Xian said. Again Mishi failed to see his face entirely as the lights turned dimmer.

"Eh...It's not needed," Mishi plainly refused. Xian smiled. Leaning close to her ear he whispered, "why are you scared of me? Just treat it like a switching of partners in the dance."

Before Mishi could say anything, Xian slightly pulled her towards him. Mishi was just looking in his eyes which were focussed on him. Xian raised their left hands slightly above while Mishi put her hand on Xian's arm where his shoulder started.

"You can put your feet over my shoes," said Xian.

"Why?," Mishi asked the reason.

"Because your foot is injured and at the same time you want to have fun," stated Xian and gave a light smile to her.

"It's fine," murmured Mishi.

"Why? Why, is it feeling like I've met this woman? I'm not able to resist myself. If it's Mi, she would have recognised me but it feels like we two are strangers to each other. But my heart is saying otherwise. I have to ask her name," thought Xian while looking into the doed eyes of Mishi.

Before Mishi could stop him, Xian slightly pulled Mishi up, resting her feet onto his shoes. Mishi has worn a slipper on her right foot so it wasn't inconvenient for Xian.

He started moving with the music- left -right; back and forth. Yuwan and Xia noticed them and told Mark about this. A smile appeared on Mark's lips. Lan Zhan and Lau Lan also noticed them so stopped at their places.

"They are dancing together," said Lan Zhan excitedly. Chang- Chun and Yin too smiled as their plan was successful.

"Madam! Do we still have to cut this rope of chandelier? The man is no more at the centre," asked the masked men.

"Well, this wasn't the part of my plan. But I think this will be fun. Keep cutting," ordered Bai.

"Today is a good day as this hall is specially emptied to celebrate Mark Zhang's birthday. Xian- Mishi you both failed to die that day but not anymore. Today, I think is the day when you both have to go to heaven," murmured Bai.

The men continued their work while Bai thought to go near Biyu and others else everyone will be suspicious of her.

"Don't get caught after doing the work. The payment is fine already to your boss. Do the work nicely else," Bai warned them.

"Don't worry madam," assured the men. Bai nodded and walked away from there.

In the centre of the hall, Mishi and Xian were dancing while other couples got aside. Everyone was mesmerized to see the two dancing.

Xian was gentle in her moves so that Mishi won't be hurt during the dance and at the same time enjoy it fully. Even for a second their eyes didn't leave each other's gaze.

Zhao was going to take back Mishi when Chang stopped him and took him away from there. "Mom, aren't they looking like a Prince and princess?," asked Mark while smiling.

"Indeed. They are made for each other," murmured Biyu. Bai was standing beside her and smiling hearing their conversation.

"Indeed they are made for each other. That's why they have to die together," thought Bai and smiled.

"Should we stop? I mean your feet must be hurting, carrying my weight," said Mishi and looked down.

"You're not that heavy. Even if you, I would have carried you. It doesn't matter actually," stated Xian and kept moving in the centre with Mishi. He spun off Mishi in the most gentle way.

Mishi's heart was pounding like crazy but she didn't want to stop either. She was enjoying the dance with Xian.

Quite far from the hall, Chang was talking with Zhao. "I told you not to get close with Sisi. She is married and.."

Zhao cut his words and said, "so? They don't remember each other. They don't even know they've ever met."

"Brother, what are you saying? My sis…" Zhao didn't let Chang complete his words again and said, "Chang, You always supported my relationship with Mishi. I was scared the day Mishi got into that accident. They aren't meant to be together. This is the second time she has almost come back from death," stated Zhao with a conceding look.

"Brother, I know. But.."

"Let's not talk about this," saying this, Zhao left for the party hall.

"Why is her eyes so mesmerising- innocent yet captivating. It feels like my soul is somehow connected to her. Xian, ask her name before the dance will end," Xian told himself.

The ropes of Chandelier were cut completely when a guest shouted- 'Run the Chandelier!' Everyone was panicking and shouts could be heard. Xian and Mishi raised their heads to look and saw the heavy Chandelier was going to fall over them.
