The Revenge Turned To Love

Xian was driving towards the police station at a decent speed when he saw how Mishi was giggling with the little kid in her lap. A smile escaped his lips. "Tell brother Xian your name," said Mishi to the kid who looked at Xian. 

"My name is Samuel Wang," said the kid in a low voice.

"Wow, such a cool name you have got. I will call you Sam, okay?" Xian said with glistening eyes. The kid gave a nod. Xian ran his fingers through Samuel's hair and increased the car's speed. In 15 minutes, they reached the police station. Mishi stepped down the car with Samuel in her arms when Xian quickly came to her side and took Samuel in his hands. 

"Mishi, let's go in," said Xian and they went inside the police station. There they saw Lan Zhan who was talking with a fellow officer but seeing Xian and Mishi he stopped. "Lan Zhan," Xian mumbled. The two other police officers named, Sean Wei and Qu Han came to them.

Xian put down Samuel from his arms. "Sam lost his mother. Please find his other," said Xian. His one hand was on Kid's head. Samuel was holding Xian's leg firmly. 

"I will go there to check onto this. If the kid has lost then his mother might have reported in the police station," opined Qu Han. 

"I will check that. We have to do a check on the CCTVs in that area," said Lan Zhan.

"You can leave the kid here and go home," Sean Wei suggested. 

"No, I will not leave Sam alone. Let his mother come here and then only Mishi and I will leave," declared Xian. Sean Wei smiled and told them to sit in the waiting area. Xian grabbed Sam's and Mishi's hands gently, took them to the waiting arena. Lan Zhan told Bao Li who is his other colleague to call the nearby station near the restaurant. Sean Wei and Qu Han went out with three other officers to search Samuel's mother. 

Mishi looked at Xian who was playing with Samuel, thus not letting his thought about his mom. This made Mishi wondered that how could Xian be so cute in front of a kid. She never imagined Xian playing with a kid. Samuel was rubbing his eyes when Mishi asked him if he was getting sleepy who gave a nod. 

"Where is mommy?" Sam asked, looking around. 

"Police uncle is finding her. Do not worry," said Mishi and caressed head. Xian put Sam on his lap and said, "Close your eyes. Get some sleep. When you will open your eyes then your mother will be here."

"Really?" Samuel asked in astonishment. 

"Yes. Your mother will be angry if you will not take asleep," stated Xian.

"How do you know?" Samuel asked, looking at Xian with innocent eyes. 

"Umm... your mother knows me. One day she told me if Sam will not take asleep then she will not come," said Xian politely. He was patting lightly at Samuel's stomach which soothed him. After a while, Sam fell asleep in Xian's lap. Half an hour later, Xian turned his eyes to Mishi and said, "Mishi, could you please ask the officer if they found anything about little champ's mother?" Mishi nodded and walked towards one of the officers. He refused and told her to wait for more. Mishi thanked and came back. Sitting beside Xian, she told Xian that they needed to wait for more. 

"Why they are working like the tortoise?" Xian angrily said. He then looked at Sam who was sleeping peacefully in his lap. Mishi found Xian was worried about Samuel even more than his mother. After waiting for an hour, the police came there. Lan Zhan went to them and narrated to them the entire things he found while finding Samuel's mother. 

"What do you mean she run away?" Xian questioned with slight anger in his tone. 

"Xian," mumbled Mishi and calmed him down. 

"The CCTV camera outside the restaurant, I checked that. The restaurant had a huge rush the time Sam came out with his mother. Many people walked and left the restaurant when his mother turned the other way, leaving the kid behind. We searched a few more CCTVs where we found that she got into a taxi with a man. The taxi number plate is noted down and further investigation can only be done tomorrow. Do not worry, we will find his mother by tomorrow, for now, you can leave the kid-"

"No, I am not going leave Sam here. I will take him home. Are you on night duty?" Xian then asked. 

"No, my shift is going to over in the next 5 minutes. Wait for me in the car," said Lan Zhan. Mishi and Xian nodded. Xian gently carried the kid in his arms, such that his head rested on his shoulder. "Let's go," said Xian to Mishi and they came out of the police station. 

Xian got into the backseat and sat with Sam. Mishi too sat beside him when Xian told her to sit quietly. Mishi nodded and quietly closed the door. After 5 minutes, Lan Zhan came and started speaking when Xian glared at him. 

"Lan Zhan, let's talk at home. Sam is sleeping. So-" said Mishi in a low voice. Lan Zhan apologized and quickly fastened the seat belt around. He started the car and drove home. As they reached home, Xian took Sam upstairs when other family members were surprised to see a kid in Xian's arms.

"Mishi, what is this?" Biyu asked. Mark, Yin, and Lau Lan were also hearing her. Mishi narrated to them the entire incident. 

"It's good that you took him home. But is this not weird that a mother left her child behind that too in this late night?" Yin muttered. Mark, Lan Zhan, and Lau Lan looked at each other and recalled that their parents also did this to them. Yin apologized for her slip of the tongue. 

"It is fine. Did Sam eat dinner?" asked Mark. 

"Yes, he had his dinner. I am going upstairs. Goodnight everyone," saying this Mishi went upstairs. As she entered the room Xian told her to be beside Sam till he freshened up. Mishi gave a nod and turned to go to the closet when Xian told her that he would take his clothes. Mishi went to the bed and looked at Sam who was sleeping peacefully. 

She covered him from the blanket and planted a kiss lightly on Sam's forehead. "How could a mother do this?" thought Mishi when she saw Xian came out of the washroom in just 5 minutes. 

"Xian," Mishi called his name. "Sam is alright. You do not need to be so sensitive," she further spoke. 

Xian sat on the left side of Sam in a half-lying position. "You know I am angry at that woman who left him all alone in that late night," said Xian worriedly and then rested him on an elbow. 

"The police will find her soon," said Mishi. Xian nodded and put his hand on Sam's chest. "Go freshen up," said Xian, looking at her. She got down the bed. Taking out the nightdress for her from the closet, she walked inside the washroom. After 10 minutes when she came out she found that Xian was already fallen to sleep. Besides Sam, he was also looking like a kid. Mishi walked to him and then put the blanket over him. Planting a soft kiss on his forehead, she closed the lights and went to the bed. She closed her eyes, and after some time she was drifted to sleep. 

In the early morning, Xian's sleep broke, and the first thing he saw was Sam and Mishi. Mishi's hand was over Sam's head, and Sam's tiny hand was on Mishi's arm. "They look so good," murmured Xian with a tiny smile. 

"I should ask Lan Zhan when he will find Sam's mom? Because the first thing that same going to ask for his mother," thought Xian and without making any noise, got down the bed and went inside the washroom. After freshening up, he went outside Lan Zhan's room. He saw he was sleeping peacefully so he went to him and shook him up. 

"Mmm...Let me sleep," mumbled Lan Zhan in his sleep. 

"How can you sleep? We have to find Sam's mom. Now, wake up!" Xian said sternly. Lan Zhan rubbed off his eyes and then gazed at him. 

"I am going to the station," said Lan Zhan and got down the bed. He yawned before going inside the washroom. He came out after 20 minutes. "Why did you take so much time?" Xian angrily asked. 

"What do you mean, why? I was doing my business," said Lan Zhan. 

"You took a shower?" Xian inquired. 

"Yes. Can you not smell the scent of body wash?" Lan Zhan said with a smile and went closer to Xian. 

"Aish! I can smell. Get ready. We are getting late," said Xian. 

"Do not come. Stay with Sam as he likes being around you. Other people will not be able to handle him. Moreover, it will take time to find his mother," suggested Lan Zhan. Xian gave a nod, and told him to find Sam's mother as soon as possible. 

"Do not worry," said Lan Zhan and went to the closet to take out his dress.
