The Revenge Turned To Love

Zhao was enjoying with his friend when he got a call from the police station. He excused himself and then answered the call. "Hello is this Mr. Zhao Bin?" asked the police officer. 

"Yes. But who are you?" Zhao asked. 

"I am Arif, a police officer."

"Police?" mumbled Zhao. 

"Your wife Mrs. Zhu Rui has reported about you that you left her alone in the hotel. Please come to the police station right away," muttered Arif. Zhao had never thought that Zhu Rui would go to the station to report such a thing. "I am coming," answered Zhao and hung up the call. He turned to Mathews and said, "Dude, I have some urgent work and I have to leave urgently. It was nice meeting you."

"Same, Zhao. Call me once you will be free from the work," asserted Mathews. 

"I do not think I will be able to take time," replied Zhao. 

"Okay, I understand. Ok then see you later," saying this Mathews left the mall. Zhao on the other hand left for the police station. As he reached there, he saw Zhu Rui was sitting on the chair there, talking with someone. He went to her; snatched the phone from her hand and cut that. 

"What is this? Why did-"

"Are you Mr. Zhao Bin?" asked Arif and cut Zhao's words. 

"Yes, I am," Zhao replied to him. Zhu Rui got up from the bench and stood beside Zhao. 

"Why did you leave your wife alone?" asked Arif.

"I did not leave her alone. I left a note too that I have some work so I had to leave urgently. I think she did not read that note," asserted Zhao and looked at Zhu Rui.

"Then why were you not answering her calls?" Arif questioned. 

"I was-" he looked at Zhu Rui who was smiling and trying to control it. "I was with my friend at the Seminyak mall. I own hotels in Beijing so here I came for that. My friend and I were discussing that only so I did not answer her calls. When I left the hotel, Zhu was sleeping that time so I thought not to disturb her," Zhao declared. 

Officer Arif was still suspicious of him when Zhu Rui spoke, "Sorry, honey. I thought you left me in such a big city all alone for a week." Zhao looked at her and chuckled. "You should have answered my calls. I was so worried about you. Thank you, officer. Should we leave then?" Zhu Rui asked. 

"Sure. Mr. Bin, please take care of your wife. If you have come here for spending time then leave behind the office work," stated Arif. 

Zhao agreed with him and apologized to Zhu Rui for leaving her behind. "Let's go then," said Zhao to Rui and they left the police station. As they came out Zhao said, "I cannot believe you can go to this extent too."

"Hmm. Even I do not believe myself that to control my husband I had to do this," muttered Zhu Rui and crossed her arms. 

"You these acts making me madder at you. Do you not know?" Zhao questioned her. 

"Check-in our hotel as Mr. Arif will keep a check on you for a week," stated Zhu Rui and walked away. Zhao followed her. He booked a taxi for them and then went to the hotel where e decided to stay and then check out from there. He then went to the same hotel where he was meant to stay. As they returned to the hotel, Zhao told her he would be in the bar & restaurant, would come late at night to the room so she should go back. 

"No, I will company you," stated Zhu Rui. 

"You want to drink with me? What if I will say something that would hurt you deeply in my drunkard state?" Zhao asked. 

"You want to get drunk?" Zhu Rui questioned. Zhao chuckled and walked away. Zhu Rui followed her and they were in the bar. Taking a seat, Zhao ordered cocktails for them. "Cocktails are good. Did you eat something?" Zhao asked.

"I ate in the lunch before going to the police station," answered Zhu Rui. 

"You are not hungry then?" Zhao asked.

"No," replied Zhu Rui. 

Their drinks came. Zhao started but Zhu Rui was just looking at them. "Why are you not drinking?" Zhao asked. 

Zhu Rui raised her head to look at him. "I am wondering what kind of relationship we both are carrying for each other," stated Zhu Rui.

"What do you want me to be? As I am a mere puppet to you," reasoned Zhao and gulped down the drink. 

"Puppet? Zhao, why are you cold for me? I did everything for you only," said Zhu Rui and picked a cocktail glass. 

"No," snapped Zhao at her. "You never did things for me. You were selfish and you are still selfish towards me," asserted Zhao. Zhu Rui gulped down the cocktail and put the glass at the table. "Zhao, you can say whatever is in your heart for me. I want to know why you despise me," pronounced Zhu Rui.

"You do not understand me. You are just like my parents who control my life," asserted Zhao and gulped the other drink. 

"I did this marriage because-" Rui stopped speaking as Zhao put the finger on her mouth. "Let me speak today. I will not able to say these things ever. If you would was loved me then the first thing you needed to do was to understand me. You never did that. 

Instead you told my father everything. He made Mishi's life miserable the time you told him that's I was with her. I never told this to Mishi because I know she will hate me. My dad did those things to her which he should not have. This is the biggest reason I despise you," stated Zhao and put down his finger.

"What did he do?" Zhu Rui asked. 

"Something which made me run away from her life," said Zhao in a low voice. He then turned to look for a waiter. A waiter came to him and he ordered more drinks. Zhu Rui now got more curious because she wanted to know what Lee Shan did to Mishi. 

"Why did you need to run away from her? I think it was Xian that-" Zhu Rui stopped saying further. 

"Huh- Xian was not the reason. He was never the reason. It was my father who made me stop getting closer to her. I could have married her in the first go but I knew sometime in the future she would know that and will start hating me. That is why I did not try that much. Later when her memories vanished I thought to give it a try. What a fool I was!" said Zhao and slightly smiled. The waiter put the drinks there on the table. Zhao again started drinking. 

He forwarded a drink towards Zhu Rui who refused. She kept staring at Zhao who was drinking and smiling. After a while, she told him to stop. Zhao looked at her and said, "I told you- you earlier that I want to get drunk." His eyes were getting heavy but he did not stop. 

"You should also give company to your husband in drinking," murmured Zhao and smiled. Zhu Rui got up and then took the glass from him. She put the glass down on the table and grabbed his arm, thus pulling him up. "Let's go to the room," said Zhu Rui. 

Zhao put his arm around Zhu Rui's shoulder. "I am seeing two Zhu Rui," murmured Zhao and laughed. Zhu Rui paid for the drinks and then left to their suite with Zhao. With much difficulty, they reached the room. She closed the door and then took Zhao towards the bed when Zhao halted. 

Zhu Rui looked at him and told him to step ahead when he pulled back his arm from her shoulder. He was stumbling when Zhu Rui held his hand. "Zhao," she called when Zhao cupped her face in his hands. There was a dim light glowing in the light because of which only their faces were visible. 

Zhao was blinking his eyes while staring at Zhu Rui. "What happened?" Zhu Rui asked. 

"Do you want me to kiss you?" Zhao asked. 

"Eh?" exclaimed Zhu Rui. 

"A kiss," murmured Zhao. 

"..." "You should sleep. You will regret this," Zhu Rui said. 

Zhao released his hands and turned to go towards the bed. Zhu Rui's heart was thumping loudly and her cheeks were flushed red. Zhao with stumbled steps walked towards the bed while Zhu Rui walked after him. Her hand was on her chest when Zhao turned to her which startled her. "I think I should," said Zhao. 

"What?" Zhu Rui mumbled when she felt Zhao's hand slid behind her neck, thus pulling him towards her. Before she could react, Zhao had already kissed her and was nibbling them. But then she felt something was off in that kiss as it was just out of demand with no love.
