The Revenge Turned To Love

Chapter 275 - Making His Wife Work

Yuwan reached home quite late. "She will be going to angry at me," he thought as he rang the doorbell. After a minute, the door was opened by Xia. "Sorry, there was so much work in the office," Yuwan stated and pecked her cheek.

"It is fine. I am not angry at you," stated Xia. Yuwan delivered a tiny smile to her and the two went inside. He removed the tie and the blazer as the two went inside their bedroom. "Take a shower. It will relax you," she said as she took out the night clothes for Yuwan. Yuwan went to her and took the clothes from her.

"Thanks. I will come in 10 minutes," asserted Yuwan. Xia nodded. "You have to. Dinner is already cold," she stated and walked out of the room.

"Why does it seem she is angry at me?" Yuwan muttered, scratching his head, and then went to the washroom. Xia on the other hand was again heating the cold food in the oven. She set the dinner table for them. Exactly after 10 minutes, Yuwan came there.

"I am not late," he said with a smile and notice that Xia did not reply to him.

"Why are you sad?" he asked her as he sat on the chair beside her.

"I am not," replied Xia as she was putting the rice in a bowl for Yuwan.

Yuwan scratched his forehead with a finger and said, "You seem angry. What happened? I know I got late and I am sorry for that."

"I understand that you are busy," stated Xia. Yuwan faintly smiled and understood his wife was indeed angry at him. He took the bowl from her when she asked him what he was doing.

"Something which my wife would love," he whispered and smiled. He quickly served the meal for both of them and then stood up from the chair. Xia was confused seeing Yuwan going to the end table there and took out the candles from its drawer. Above it was placed a candle stand which he grabbed and went to the dining table.

Placing it in the middle, he placed three red-colored candles on that stand and then lighted those candles from the matchstick. After that, he went to the kitchen and from the tiny wine cellar, he brought a red wine for them.

Xia was just looking at him when he clapped two times and the lights were turned off. Their faces were visible in the yellow candle lights. "Let's have a candlelight dinner," Yuwan said softly as he pulled out the chair, in front of Xia and sat on it. The two were now facing each other.

He opened the wine cork and poured a little bit of wine for them in the glasses. "Here," he told Xia who grabbed the glass and placed it on the table. "Do you think your wife will become happy just by this?" Xia asked him with a raised brow.

"I know how to make my wife happy," Yuwan uttered confidently. He then told Xia to start eating who picked the chopsticks. They both started eating.

"You have become a good cook. I am impressed," Yuwan stated.

"Don't butter me up," Xia told him and then sipped the wine from the glass. "Ahh… it's bitter," she stated.

"That's why I poured you less wine. I don't want you to get a hangover because you babble things when you are drunk," asserted Yuwan as he chewed the food.

"Your face glows more in this candlelight," Yuwan said after a while. Xia chuckled heating his response. "You are buttering me up. Such cheesy lines won't work on me," Xia declared. She sipped the wine again. "Ahh, now I get the taste," she said and she drank it all. She put her hand on the wine bottle when Yuwan too placed his hand on it.

"Don't. You will end up having a hangover," he said and pulled the wine towards him but to surprise Xia did not lose her grip from it. "Then why did you take it out from the cellar?" she asked.

"Because I wanted you to taste it once," he replied.

"Then listen to my babblings as a friend," she told him. Yuwan did not listen to her and made her grip loosen over it. He put the wine bottle beside his plate. "Let's finish the dinner first then we can drink together. Tomorrow is Saturday so no issue for me even if I got up late," he stated.

Xia nodded. "But I am still angry at you," she then said, pointing the chopsticks towards him. Yuwan put them down using the chopsticks in his hand, "Soon this anger will vanish. I know you can't remain angry for more than an hour." He proclaimed and continued eating.

After they were done eating, Yuwan told Xia to wait for him in the living room. "I will wash the dishes. Don't do them," she stated.

"It's fine. You also are tired. Wait for me there and don't drink wine till I will be there. If you won't listen to me then I am going to punish you," he stated. Xia faintly smiled.

"I understand… m.y d.e.a.r h.u.s.b.a.n.d," she stressed each of the words. Yuwan smiled and then carried those dishes with him. But Xia did not listen to him and walked behind him in the kitchen. As he put the dishes in the washbasin, Xia pushed him off slightly and wore the rubber gloves.

"Xia, this is not fair. Go to the living room," he stated as he took off one of the rubber gloves from her hand.

"I will be furious if I will let my dear husband wash these dishes. If mom and dad are seeing us from heaven then they will curse me for making their son work when he has come from work," Xia opined and took the glove from her. She opened the tap and the water started running.

"But they will be angrier when they will see that their son is making his wife work," Yuwan proclaimed and took both gloves off her hands.
