Among the four domestic space launch sites, Wenchang is the youngest and has the least complete supporting facilities.

Usually, the launch vehicles launched here are assembled from the assembly factory in Jin City and transported by transport ships.

However, after the big space program is officially launched this year, the Wenchang Space Launch Base will prepare to increase the scale of investment in supporting facilities to achieve local assembly capabilities.

The most complete and huge space launch base in China is still the Dongfeng Space City in Jiuquan.

As the starting point for China’s aerospace dream, Dongfeng Space City carries the memories and glory of generations of astronauts.

Although it has entered a new era, the importance of Dongfeng Aerospace City remains the same as before.

At present, the launch vehicle assembly factory in Dongfeng Space City can produce 10 long-12 launch vehicles at the same time, making it the largest launch vehicle assembly center in China.

Although the assembly plant in Jin City has undergone a series of upgrades, it can only produce up to 8 Long 12 launch vehicles at the same time.

The Chang 12 launched at the Wenchang launch site this time is the latest improved version of the Chang 12E launch vehicle. The payload has been slightly improved, reaching 56.8 tons.

The so-called somersault cloud project is to use the huge carrying capacity of the Feipeng class to carry the launch vehicle to a high altitude, and then let the launch vehicle ignite to break through the Karman line.

The purpose of this project is to save rocket fuel consumed by the launch vehicle during the atmospheric stage.

Huang Xiuyuan thought for a while and replied: "If the Feipeng-class carrying capacity is used, it can only carry a launch vehicle of less than 1,200 tons at most and reach an altitude of 30 kilometers. This is basically the limit state."

"It is quite suitable for transporting the Chang 11. This solution can add about 160 tons of payload to the Chang 11."

Huang Xiuyuan cautiously reminded: "This requires coordination between the transport ship and the launch vehicle, otherwise problems will easily occur."

Academician Wang also nodded: "Indeed, Lao Li has already applied for this project. I don't know if it can be approved."

After thinking for a moment, Huang Xiuyuan suggested: "My Eagle Aerospace should be considered. After all, there are too many domestic projects. It will probably be 15 years before they can be approved. Why not let Academician Li come to Eagle with the project? I I am very optimistic about this project.”

Although Eagle Aerospace is a subsidiary of the Suiren Department, the space agency and the Suiren Department have a close relationship. There is both internal competition and cooperation between the two parties, so there is no need to be too avoidant.

There are also related projects abroad for this kind of launch vehicle that is launched on the back of an aircraft. However, they do not have large-load transport aircraft and can only be used in small launch vehicles.

The Feipeng class, which has a super-large payload in China, can be completely modified to send the launch vehicle to an altitude of 30 kilometers.

To a certain extent, the most fuel-consuming stages of a launch vehicle are the troposphere and stratosphere in the atmosphere. These two regions consume a large portion of fuel.

The Somersault Cloud project is to save fuel in these two areas.

In fact, in this mode, the Feipeng stage can also be used as the core first stage of the launch vehicle, but this core stage can be quickly reused many times.
