The Rise of Purple Phoenix

"Eira, can I ask you something?" Lloyd asked.

"what is it?" Eira said as she returned her look at Lloyd.

"aren't snakes said to be the descendants of dragons and don't they transform into a dragon after reaching a particular stage?" Lloyd asked.

"yes, normally snake change into a dragon after rank 5 but snake emperor didn't. for some reason he hated dragons. He fiercely removed any traces of dragon bloodline from his and his offspring's body and after he started to devour other beings to for their vitality. Later he found out that vitalities possessed by us phoenixes are greater than any another being other. So, he started his hunt for phoenixes and that was the start of the conflict between phoenixes and snakes" Eira said.

"Oh" Lloyd was surprised.

"even if he did transform into a dragon, he will only be a low-level dragon and will be always regarded as slaves of a true dragon. Maybe that was one of the reasons he didn't change into a dragon" Eira said after thinking.

"then what happened after that?" Lloyd said.

'the story truly interesting' Lloyd thought as he looked eagerly at Eira.

"Okay, don't rush," Eira said.

"after I arrived here, I was separated from my brother and took shelter here to recover," Eira said.

As Eira finished, she looked away from Lloyd towards the mouth of the cave and smiled.

Seeing her smiling, Lloyd was confused. When someone talks about their tragic past. They may look sad or even cry but this was the first time he saw someone smiling.

"Eira, are a masochist?" Lloyd asked for confirmation. It was the only explanation he thought for her smile.

Hearing Lloyd's question, Eira was stunned. She looked at him in shocked, her eyes almost jumping out of their sockets.

"kid, are you looking to die?" Eira shouted as she was enraged.

As a lady, this was the first time someone asked her such a shameful question.

"this" Lloyd said as he saw Eira's anger. He thought about why she was angry as he recounted.

As he thought back his question, his face turned pale as he finally understood.

"stop…stop….stop….let me explain," Lloyd said hurriedly.

"yes," Lloyd said.

"you idiot, I was not smiling because of that but when I was telling you about my past, I remembered about a friend," Eira said.

" A friend?" Lloyd asked. He wanted to divert the topic to make her forget about the incident before.

Hearing about her friend, Eira's anger disappeared in an instant as she thought about it.

"Her name is Zanna," Eira said.

'Zanna..... why do I feel this name is familiar? Where did I hear it?' Lloyd thought while thinking where he heard that name.

"when I arrived in this world, I was gravely injured and close to death. Humans saw me fall from the sky and started to hunt me. At that time my power was only at peak rank 2. I was surrounded and almost died but then a lady saved me. With her help, I escaped and reached here but Zanna was injured and to heal her, I gave her a little bit of my blood essence" Eira said.

"Zanna Felix, the first ice phoenix bloodline cultivator," Lloyd said loudly as he remembered who Zanna was. When he was young, His mother always told stories about her adventures and how she established the ice phoenix clan.

"yes that's her, she was the only one who knows about this place after you and I heard that she created her home near here. She could come and talk whenever she was free but human life was small. She couldn't breakthrough and died of old age" Eira said.

As she finished, Lloyd could see some tears coming from her left eye and dropped to the floor. Before it could reach the ground, it froze and created ice crystals.
