The Saint's Tyrant Rehabilitation Method
Chapter 4
Camael reached out and blocked my way. He grabbed my small hand and pulled me towards him. A sword was already positioned in his grasp.
His deep purple eyes gleamed brilliantly. I asked in a flustered manner, “Wh, what are you doing?”
“Step aside. I must kill him.”
I tried shaking his hand off, appalled by his firm voice. However, Camael did not let go. I demanded an explanation.
“What’s wrong with you? This kid has a bad personality, but not enough to meet his death. No, he’s still a kid anyway!”
“This person is an intruder from the Kingdom of unbelievers. I can sense the unclean energy from his body. He must have been hiding, as no one would have allowed him entry past the gate. This intruder is subject to immediate action.”
I glanced down at the child in a hurry. Was it because of the injury? Unlike before, peculiar energy emanated from the boy’s body and surrounded him. Fortunately, the energy didn’t spread due to Camael’s aura which pressed it down.
“Unbeliever; that’s absurd!”
It was ridiculous while at the same time true. All that aside, I didn’t know I would meet one in this state.
Amidst the Holy Land, unbelievers did not simply mean those who did not believe in God. Not everything was written in the name ‘unbeliever’.
The unbelievers are savage invaders who thieve the power of God and challenge them. Among the group, those with special powers were named ‘magicians.’ Yes, magic is the power of God.
The Kingdom of unbelievers was a term that referred to the magical Kingdom of Callis, which had been terrifyingly expanding its territory while dead as a rat for the past three years.
The Holy Land was not hostile to any country in the world, but Callis was a different matter.
Fifty years ago, Callis failed to invade the holy country due to the strong, firm barrier. As a result, their king was cursed by the Moon God.
The King of Callis, the one who stole the power of God, discovered a way to finish off the curse. In the end, despite their king’s curse, Callis remained unwavering and powerful.
Following such events, he was constantly after the Holy Land, with much hostility and desire to conquer it whole.
When war between the two took place fifty years ago, many people from the Holy Land were sacrificed as a result.
It was said that the snow-white walls were dyed red with blood, and countless people were mercilessly slaughtered.
Recently, priests who set foot from the Holy Land were killed by the people of Callis ever so often that negative hostility from the Holy country towards Callis went sky-high.
What if another priest had seen this child? I couldn’t bear to imagine the result.
Camael here would only act according to principles. Considering the antagonistic history between the two countries, we could not overlook this child. An intruder at that?
My God preaches for mercy as dazzling as the front of the moon but also speaks of brutal retaliation in the back.
*TL/N: This phrase means that as much as God speaks of mercy and forgiveness, there is also a dark side to them. Author-nim used the front and back of the moon as examples.
However, I did not hesitate for long. I stared straight through Camael, my eyes firm.
“No, Camael. I will not affirm Camael to attack this child, nor will I let him die.”
No saint permitted a child to die.
The nervous tension between us overwhelmed our atmosphere. Camael still showed no change in his expression. Those unshakable purple eyes of his. He had yet to lower his sword.
I shook his hand away and ordered, calmly but distinctly.
“Put your sword back, Camael. I will not allow it.”
Only then did Camael dispose of the sword, as if proving my order was successfully taken in by him. He replied in an emotionless voice.
“If it’s an order.”
After the problem had been resolved, I moved my hand back to the child. My palm began to glow softly.
Was it okay for me to do this? I questioned myself, all in vain. It was a shame for me to treat a Callis invader; the Callis we were militant towards.
You’re a bad guy who pushed me twice! Besides, we haven’t seen each other long enough for us to pity the other.
Nonetheless, I couldn’t leave a child who looked no more than ten years old to die. That would be wrong. I no longer found myself hesitating.
As my healing energy poured into his body, the child’s grave appearance showed signs of improvement.
Amidst the whole process, impure energy rose and fought against my divine power. I carefully breathed and sought to avoid collision as much as possible.
He seemed to have suffered internal injuries, so I was not able to heal thoroughly. Still, if I hadn’t treated him, this kid’s life would’ve been in danger.
By the time warmth overlapped his body and his vitality returned, I removed my hand. Camael, who had been standing silently, finally opened his mouth.
“What are you going to do?”
“What should I do?”
I reversed the question back. That’ll be real trouble if we get found out hiding the kid.
However, Camael did not give away his thoughts easily.
“What do you wish to do?”
We couldn’t head to the temple, since all were hostile towards Callis… I’ll have to question the kid separately. My fist clenched as I contemplated seriously.
“Right, wasn’t Camael’s place close to here?”
Camael’s face remained invariably expressionless, but I could sense his reluctance.
Well, he was to reveal his room out of the blue. You didn’t hide any dirty books, did you?
“There was a commotion during the day after someone brought the goods of the unbelievers into the Holy Land. By evening, they had discovered the items, incinerated them, and immediately deported them. There may be someone who infiltrated through this gap. Unless this child had nothing to do with the commotion.”
He gave strength to his voice as he spoke.
“I can’t leave a risk that I detected.”
“This is a child, no matter what he was up to.”
It seemed awkward for Camael when I, a ten-year-old kid myself, referred to the boy as a ‘child’.
Seeing him expressionless, I held out stronger.
“I’ve already treated him. We can listen to his story after he wakes up.”
I was a saint. That meant my orders were absolute. Camael gently carried the child around his shoulders.
“Let’s go to my quarters.”
“If we get caught on the way, it’ll be difficult to explain. Why don’t we move using teleportation?”
Camael shook his head.
“Moving with multiple people results in a higher effect of maintaining a normal atmosphere.”
You’re strict! Camael also added that the temple people’s lives were like others, so no one headed out during the night, and the area itself was his territory, so others didn’t patrol.
“Okay, let’s go!” (Ezdel)
Camel then immediately hugged me and ran, the boy still on his shoulders. In simple words, he was now carrying two kids.
I clung to his neck with all my might. The front of my eyes shook rapidly and my whole body swayed. The fun only lasted for a moment.
I think I’m going to get motion sickness!
Fortunately, Camael’s place wasn’t too far away. Paladins were usually provided with lodging and meals in the temple, and those who were married lived in separate houses.
However, although single, Camael owned a house of his own, which was distanced from the temple. He always lived a life where he distanced himself from the people of the temple.
It was for a very embarrassing reason for me to mention. I mean, he drove many people down the path of depravity… No, it’s just a bit noisy for him.
Camael was beautiful enough to make the young priestess’s fall in love. Even the holy knights who worked alongside him blushed and coughed continuously due to his beauty.
Those who confessed their love for him but were rejected and hung their heads in despair were the naive type.
Sometimes some seduced him and others who boldly attacked his quarters.
These troublesome and cumbersome events forced Camael to live secluded, which was inevitable for the peace of the temple.
Eirene explained to me that just because many people liked him so much, the fairy Camael wasn’t obliged to return their feelings.
I’ve been given many examples, but it was obvious that was the main point.
This was the first time I’ve entered Camael’s place. When my motion sickness calmed down, I opened my eyes wide and looked around.
Surrounding the white walls were two doors, that is, two rooms. It felt shabby for the Holy Land’s best knight to stay in, but Camael didn’t seem to mind.
I turned my head frantically after he dropped me off. Interesting!
“It’s clean.”
It was a place suitable for patients. Inside was spotless, and there was no smell consisting of human odor. It was simple as if no one was meant to set foot inside.
I heard that Camael only digested small amounts of fruit, like other fairies. Since he had nothing worth spending his money on, he would have saved a lot. I’m sure he’s a rich man, a first-class groom!
While I was thinking rubbish, Camael walked into the house and laid the boy roughly in the corner of the room. Was it perhaps a good thing he didn’t throw the child away?
Worried the weather was too cold, I glanced around and asked.
“You don’t have an extra bed?”
Camael wouldn’t give up his sheets. I didn’t expect that much either.
“There is none. No one else stays here.”
It was a very lonely remark.
Nonetheless, Camael seemed to be satisfied with that thus far. For that reason, he seemed to be wary of the wounded child which emanated unclean energy in his own house.
Because he kept glancing at him and moving his hand to the sword.
“But wouldn’t there be any extra blankets? It’s too much to leave him like this.”
To my question, Camael left the room immediately. As I contemplated whether what I heard was rustling, he returned with blankets.
He only threw it roughly in the air, but the blanket spread out evenly on the floor.
Camael lifted the child as if he were picking an object, laid him down, and covered him with the remaining sheet.
Camael did not wake the child up as he skillfully moved his hands.
After noticing my concerned gaze, he replied, “The people of Callis get better quickly.”
He then added heartlessly, “We’ll be able to interrogate him in the near future. We need to find out what they are trying to do.”
“Uh, yeah, yeah.”
I nodded nervously at his terrifying tone as he spoke the word interrogate. But wait, it won’t be in the next few hours, right?
“Then, will Camael take care of him? I think I should head back.”
Camael never slept because he was a fairy. He didn’t even go to the bathroom. Therefore, he was a perfect knight. He spoke in a cool tone.
“I have work to do. To put off my duties and keep an eye on him, I must state that I am on a different mission at the order of the Holy Lady.”
“Hm, that’s not good.”
I held the authority to give orders to Camael, but he and I had too little contact… There could be a problem with the process of contacting him and giving orders.

I moved my finger after a moment of thought.
“I’ll arrange your vacation.”
Everyone knew I was very interested in Camael, so I could make an excuse like, ‘I felt sorry for him who never rested and only worked hard for the temple’.
“When he wakes up, how about handing him over to the temple? If it is in the name of the saint, I will take care of it.”
