The Second Empire of Azeroth
#110 - The Dreadlord's Trap
A draenei craftsman spread out blueprints, showing Roger the designs he had worked on overnight. These were the plans for the new Arakkoa artillery that Roger and A'dal had discussed the previous day, which Roger had named the Rapid-Fire Cannon.
"This Rapid-Fire Cannon only meets the rapid-fire requirement; we haven't found a way to launch barrage rounds yet."
"Have you tried engraving Arcane Barrage glyphs on it?"
"We've tried, but the Arcane Barrage glyphs are incompatible with the rapid-fire glyphs. We haven't found a solution yet."
"Wouldn't it be better to make them separately?"
Roger was speechless. Did he have to guide them on such a simple matter? Even if they were too focused on the task at hand, they couldn't expect him to worry about everything!
This incident revealed the draenei's straightforward nature. They only focused on completing the requirements without understanding how to adapt. This kind of personality ensured that the weapons they created were absolutely reliable, but it wasn't suitable for innovation.
This was likely due to the influence of the naaru. For tens of thousands of years, the naaru had shown almost no innovation in technology. What they were like ten thousand years ago was what they were still like today.
No wonder they were always defeated by the demons!
"Continue monitoring according to the original plan!"
After issuing the order, Roger quickly closed the communication crystal.
He gathered the Swords of Lothar, boarded the Demonbane, and entered the Farahlon islands to support the naaru.
The naaru had established a total of five mana-forges on the Farahlon islands. A'arah and B'naar had already been occupied by demons, and the other three were under attack.
D'ore was located near the Tempest Keep docking point, and the naaru concentrated their forces to defend it. Even if the other two fell, the mana generated by D'ore would be enough for Tempest Keep to make one warp. The other two mana-forges were preserved because of reinforcements from the Alliance. Arklon was located near Area 52, and Khadgar led mages to reinforce it, driving back the demons. Telaar was located on a mountain, with only one road leading up, so the demons could only attack from the sky. The draenei used their lives to hold off the demon attacks until Turalyon arrived with his army.
The demons and the Alliance forces were in a stalemate. As soon as the Demonbane joined the battlefield, it reduced the defensive pressure on the Alliance. The Arakkoa artillery specifically targeted the larger demons, quickly weakening the Burning Legion's main force.
The demons in the sky received orders to attack the Demonbane.
Roger made a strong entrance, unleashing an Arcane Barrage with all his power in his first strike. Hundreds of thousands of arcane missiles shot into the sky, instantly killing demons within a thousand meters, causing them to fall like raindrops.
The battlefield suddenly cleared a region, shocking the demons!
They turned to look at Roger, immediately sensing his powerful strength and a terrifying aura.
The legendary-level Demonbane played a major role at this moment. Many demons trembled in fear at the sight of Roger, almost falling from the sky. Cowardly demons turned and fled the battlefield, preferring to be killed by the overseers than face Roger.
In the rear of the demon camp, a tall figure appeared. Even as a mere projection, it exuded a terrifying pressure.
Kil'jaeden frowned slightly as he watched the battle situation.
Tichondrius, seeing his master displeased, quickly said, "It must be Rogers Keishaun. Only he can cast such a powerful spell!"
"That orc slayer?" Kil'jaeden said with interest, "I heard Magtheridon once tried to recruit him?"
"Yes!" Tichondrius said mockingly, "Magtheridon is really daydreaming. Rogers's brother died at the hands of the orcs, how could he possibly pledge allegiance to the Legion?"
"What if the Legion resurrected his brother?" Kil'jaeden asked thoughtfully.
"Difficult!" Tichondrius shook his head and said, "Not only did his brother, John Keishaun, die at the hands of the orcs, but the elder Keishaun couple also died at the hands of the orcs. Rogers's hatred for the orcs is etched in his bones. Velen will definitely tell Rogers that the Legion instructed the orcs…"
"That's a pity!" Kil'jaeden looked into the distance with appreciation, "Since he cannot be used by the Legion, then kill him!"
Tichondrius bowed: "As you command, my master!"
Kil'jaeden's projection disappeared, and Tichondrius finally raised his head. His eyes were full of cunning as he looked at Anetheron, "Tell Magtheridon to speed up the pace of his attack!"
Zangarmarsh, Telredor.
This former draenei refuge was now filled with the flames of war. After entering Zangarmarsh, Magtheridon immediately sent his troops to attack it. After the draenei returned to Shattrath, most of the people who came to Telredor to live were researchers who wanted to study the topography of Zangarmarsh and find ways to restore the ecosystem.
Suddenly attacked by demons, these researchers were unable to resist. Some people fled into the swamp, using their knowledge of the swamp to escape the demons' pursuit. However, the vast majority of the draenei were killed in Telredor and on the road to escape.
Magtheridon stood in the ruins of Telredor, wantonly waving his spear and destroying the buildings one by one. Since entering Draenor, he had not tasted the joy of destruction, and now that he had the opportunity, he naturally wanted to vent the displeasure in his heart.
A portal opened beside him, and Anetheron stepped out, "Magtheridon, the master is very dissatisfied with your efficiency. According to the plan, you should be under Shattrath City now!"
Magtheridon was annoyed that Anetheron disturbed his venting, "That's your master, vampire!"
Anetheron sneered, "Try disobeying the master's orders?"
Magtheridon angrily raised the spear in his hand, pretending to chop Anetheron to death. Anetheron curled his lips in disdain and teleported away directly. Magtheridon slammed the spear on the ruins beside him, screaming in anger.
However, he really didn't dare to disobey Kil'jaeden's orders.
His direct superior, Archimonde the Defiler, was a general in the main force, but only the number three figure in the Burning Legion. Kil'jaeden was the number two figure and the commander-in-chief of the Burning Legion. As for Sargeras, this dark titan never directly commanded the Legion, he would only tell Kil'jaeden his combat intentions and then let Kil'jaeden execute them.
Therefore, if he really disobeyed Kil'jaeden's power, the consequences would be more serious than not listening to Archimonde's orders.
After venting for a while, he angrily issued an order: "Attack south, target Shattrath!"
