The Second Empire of Azeroth

#165 - Confronting Yogg-Saron

Aza Das pushed open the door of the observation room and saw a giant composed entirely of starlight preparing to activate the reset device.

"Stop him quickly!"

Without Aza Das needing to remind him, Roger had already taken action. A portal appeared between the reset device and the starlight giant, blocking his movement.

This starlight giant was none other than Algalon. Algalon was puzzled to see Aza Das, the Titan Watcher, trying to stop him from activating the reset device: "Watcher,

"Are you looking down on me?" Roger asked with a sneer.

Algalon glanced at him disdainfully,

suddenly reaching out and plunging his hand into the arcane barrier, "You cannot stop me, mortal!"

"Then I'll let you see the power of this mortal!" Roger replied coldly.

He waved the Scepter of Sargeras, and the energy of the arcane barrier rapidly collapsed. Under Roger's guidance, it wrapped around Algalon's arm like a piece of cloth. Then…

"Boom—"

Arcane energy exploded inside the barrier, directly blasting Algalon's arm into stardust, while the arcane barrier wrapping around it remained unharmed.

Algalon was stunned. He tried to reassemble the starlight, but an energy was preventing him from reforming his arm—the power of time.

"Aman'Thul…"

Aza Das approached, "Algalon, I know you are just executing a program, but reality has things besides programs, like miracles."

"Miracles?" Algalon looked at Roger, "Such a small body can contain so much of Aman'Thul's time power,

this is indeed a miracle."

"Although I have only arrived in this world recently, the observation room records the changes in Azeroth's power. Almost all creatures are parasites. They are constantly seizing Azeroth's power, slowing down her awakening, and allowing the Old Gods to escape and corrupt Azeroth again. I will not abandon saving Azeroth because of a small miracle, even if you have the power to kill me."

Aza Das persuaded, "Algalon, even if you reset the entire world, can you guarantee that no new creatures will appear?"

"Can you guarantee that these new creatures will not release the Old Gods again? You must know that no one knew what the Old Gods were back then. New creatures will soon be bewitched by the Old Gods, and perhaps the speed of the Old Gods' corruption will accelerate!"

"Why not give us a chance? We are about to deal with Yogg-Saron. If we can kill Yogg-Saron, or even find a way to weaken it, you won't need to restart the world at all."

Hearing this, Algalon fell into contemplation.

Roger said in a timely manner, "Anyway, trying won't hurt you. If we really kill Yogg-Saron,

you'll make a huge profit."

Algalon was persuaded,

"Alright! I'll give you a chance to try."

Having persuaded Algalon, the only hostile forces in Ulduar were Yogg-Saron and its faceless army.

The Faceless Ones were powerful, even possessing power not weaker than the Titan Watchers. However, they were still vulnerable in front of the Titan Watchers and the Northrend Expedition.

The mighty Storm Lord Thorim summoned lightning, the rescued Ice Lord Hodir summoned ice, the awakened Life Binder Freya blessed the Northrend Expedition, Mimiron, having learned of Loken's death, helped the Northrend Expedition modify their weapons, Earth Lord Aza Das and his lover Ironaya sensed the enemy's position, and Algalon, who had temporarily joined the army, also provided shadow protection blessings to the army.

Roger, wielding the Scepter of Sargeras, walked at the forefront, occasionally opening portals to help the Northrend soldiers launch surprise attacks. Lothar, Arthas, and Muradin, highly skilled generals, led the army in ambushes. Gargon Firehammer led the modified tank army, providing fire coverage against the Old God's minions.

Under the cover of ample artillery fire and lightning, the Northrend Expedition forced the Faceless army to retreat steadily. These armies of the Old Gods, although capable of bewitching people, were no match for steel and magic.

As the battle line continued to advance, two voices gradually echoed in Roger's ears.

"Child, you have not disappointed my expectations!"

"Why resist? This world will eventually return to nothingness. Wouldn't it be better to embrace the darkness with us?"

"Shut up, you disgusting parasite!"

"We are one now. You can't possibly be so naive as to think you can kill me, can you? If it were really possible, why didn't your Titan companions kill us? Instead, they chose to seal us underground? They are all helpless against me, let alone these mortals."

The corners of Roger's mouth curled up, "Yogg-Saron, you seem very confident!"

"Hahaha, mortal, I know you are very strong. But you must know that we are eternal. Time is meaningless to us. Do you know what the end of time is? It is annihilation. Everything will cease to exist."

"Are you trying to sell me your doomsday theory? The End Time sounds scary, but I'm not even sure if I can live to see it, so your efforts are wasted," Roger said disdainfully.

Yogg-Saron said seductively, "Mortal, as long as you pledge allegiance to me, I can let you live to see that time and welcome the End Time with me…"

"Child, don't listen to him."

Yogg-Saron: "Roger, no one doesn't want to live forever, and you are no exception!"

Roger laughed, "Indeed, I also hope I can be immortal. However, surrendering to you? I'd rather die now. You yourself cannot resist the End Time, yet you want to grant me immortality? Is living to the End Time considered immortality? What I want is the kind of immortality where even if you and your master die, I will continue to live."

"Mortal, how can you understand the true meaning of the End Time?"

"I don't need to understand!" Roger said disdainfully, "But I do know that since immortality is hopeless, we can pursue a brilliant life. And killing you, Yogg-Saron, is part of our brilliant life."

As he spoke, Roger opened another portal, and Thorim's lightning passed through the portal, piercing the body of the last Faceless One. When the Faceless One's body slowly fell, Yogg-Saron's chamber appeared before everyone's eyes.

The crowd exchanged glances without speaking.

Thorim stepped forward and forcefully pushed open the door to the chamber.

A huge monster with countless mouths was frantically twisting its body. Near the mouths, countless tentacles were waving. These tentacles quickly broke off and turned into individual Faceless Ones, charging towards the crowd.

Yogg-Saron was right in front of them!
