The Second Empire of Azeroth
#76 - Honor Hold
Although the Sons of Lothar already knew the situation of Draenor from the intelligence reports, they were still surprised by the desolation that met their eyes.
Turalyon unfolded the map drawn by the scouts and began to deploy the battle plan.
Roger did not wait for Turalyon's order, but led the Sword of Lothar and Alleria to launch an attack on the orc stronghold in the west.
This stronghold was very close to the Dark Portal, and judging from its scale, it should have been an orc supply depot, which was later converted into a watchtower to monitor the Dark Portal.
When they saw the Sons of Lothar entering the Dark Portal, the orcs in the stronghold sent people to notify the orcs in the fortress.
The remaining orcs launched a resistance on the spot, but they did not know what kind of enemy they were facing.
The elves used bows and arrows to contain the orcs from a distance, and the Sword of Lothar launched a charge against the orc attacks.
The warriors broke through the gate and stormed into the stronghold.
The mages followed closely behind, defeating all the orcs.
When Roger stepped into the stronghold, the assassins had already handed the sorted intelligence to Roger, and all the tortured prisoners were lying on the open space in the center of the stronghold.
Garona looked at the corpses of these orcs, and looked at Roger with some fear, obviously she was shocked by Roger's murderous aura.
Roger didn't even look at the corpses, looked at the intelligence in his hand, and dropped a sentence: "Dispose of them."
The mages began to communicate with the elemental spirits, but found that they could not get any response.
They had to give up, and instead mobilized their own mana, using arcane energy to transform fire spells, burning the corpses of the orc prisoners.
After reading the intelligence, Roger handed the intelligence to Garona, "Give it to Turalyon, and tell him that I will go to occupy that garrison first, and let him come later."
Garona quickly took the intelligence, she couldn't wait to leave Roger's side.
Although Roger promised to spare her life, Garona could still feel the killing intent in Roger's eyes.
She is a legendary assassin with super strength, she should not be afraid of Roger.
But when Roger attacked her, she was subdued by Roger without any resistance, and she couldn't break free at all.
Standing at the highest point of the watchtower, Roger used Far Sight to observe the surroundings, and verified the map in the game and the map drawn by the scouts.
Soon, he determined the location of the stronghold, which was in the middle of the Dark Portal and the Legion Front, and he could see the sea in the north and south directions, and to the west was the predecessor of the Legion Front, a continuous mountain range.
Through the mountain road, he saw a majestic fortress from a distance, which was the base built by the orcs to invade Azeroth, which was later Hellfire Citadel.
According to the scout's intelligence, Hellfire Citadel is surrounded by a moat flowing with fel energy, which flows down from the high mountains in the north.
Roger knew that the mountain was the Throne of Kil'jaeden, where Gul'dan tricked the orcs into drinking the blood of demons.
On the scout map, there is a set of dry rivers in the west of the mountain range, and the hills surrounded by the rivers are very suitable as a garrison.
That is the location of Honor Hold later.
Although the dry riverbed cannot get water, it is a natural protective belt.
The drop caused by the terrain makes it impossible for the orcs to attack directly, and they can only bypass the river from the south.
But when they bypass the river, the defenders can find the traces of the orcs and launch a defense.
The dragonhawk riders scouted for Roger and Alleria, and the Sword of Lothar and the elves marched into the mountains at a rapid pace.
Because it was corroded by fel energy, most of the trees on the mountain range had died, leaving only dry trunks.
The exposed rocks were red, and Roger tried to smash a large rock, but the fel energy only penetrated the surface, and the stone inside was intact, and the color was still white.
With these wood and stones, establishing Honor Hold will save a lot of trouble.
The dragonhawk riders pointed out the orc ambush to Roger, and under Roger's command, the Sword of Lothar quickly cleared the orc ambushers on the mountain.
The next day, the Sword of Lothar occupied the hill of Honor Hold and established a proposed camp, waiting for the arrival of the large army.
In less than two days, Turalyon led the large army to arrive.
According to the scheduled plan, they began to build Honor Hold on one side, and scouted Hellfire Citadel on the other.
Under the reconnaissance of the gryphon riders and dragonhawk riders, only Hellfire Citadel had orcs left in the entire Hellfire Peninsula.
And Khadgar has confirmed that the three artifacts are in Hellfire Citadel through tracking spells.
Moreover, he discovered the fourth artifact in Hellfire Citadel, which was the artifact used by Teron Gorefiend to open the Dark Portal.
"If we take back the artifact now, do we not need to continue building Honor Hold?" Daelin Proudmoore suggested.
"We should be cautious." Turalyon always felt that things were not that simple.
For some reason, the fel energy around Hellfire Citadel made him feel very bad.
Khadgar looked at Roger, "I didn't feel any threat in the fortress."
Roger knew Khadgar's intention, he wanted himself to also detect whether there were any overly powerful existences in the fortress.
Roger is not good at detection spells, but he is very good at detecting dragons.
If there is any powerful existence in Hellfire now, it is the black dragon.
He took out the Demonbane Sword and began to cast a tracking spell.
The next second, the Demonbane Sword vibrated, and Roger's face changed drastically.
"Deathwing!"
Turalyon and others didn't know why, "What Deathwing?"
"That is a powerful black dragon, he was once one of the five Aspect Dragons." Khadgar explained, and then asked Roger: "Are you sure Deathwing is in the fortress."
"Even if he turns to ashes, I will recognize him!" Roger's face was a little distorted, "It was because of him that I failed to save Lord Lothar."
Enemies are extremely jealous when they meet, if it weren't for Deathwing, Lothar wouldn't have died, and John wouldn't have died either.
Killing intent was revealed in Turalyon's eyes, "Is there any way to kill Deathwing?"
Alleria worriedly held Roger's hand, Roger's expression softened.
He sighed faintly, "Deathwing's power is beyond your imagination, even if all of us add up, we are not his opponents.
Unless we have powerful helpers, otherwise we are not Deathwing's opponents at all."
Everyone frowned, they knew that Roger was very confident in his own strength, and the existence that could make Roger feel helpless was definitely not something they could deal with.
But just watching Deathwing swaggering around without punishing him?
Everyone admitted that they couldn't do it.
Turalyon was afraid that someone would get hotheaded and do something that would be detrimental to the Alliance, and immediately ordered: "Do not act rashly before Honor Hold is built."
