The black dragon whelp landed on the Shattrath City wall. Just as it approached the tower, it saw a group of "monsters" gathered there!

These "monsters" looked a lot like Draenei, but they were shorter and their bodies were heavily corrupted, resembling melting wax figures. However, Roger recognized these "monsters"; they were the Broken.

The Broken were originally Draenei who stayed behind to cover the retreat from Shattrath, but they were corrupted by fel energy during a massive explosion created by the Orcs, transforming them into their current state.

They chose to stay behind for the safety of their brethren, resulting in their current appearance. However, the Draenei they sought to protect did not appreciate them.

A group of Draenei blocked the Broken's path, looking at the ugly and filthy Broken with disgust. "You fallen ones, leave Shattrath immediately. This place is no longer suitable for you."

"Do not bring corruption back to Shattrath. You are desecrating the Light."

The Broken were furious. They didn't want to become like this either. But during the explosion, the fel energy turned into mist, and they couldn't escape, forced to passively accept the corruption. After being corrupted, they once wanted to end their lives, but they eventually persevered, and their reason for living became revenge against the Orcs.

After fighting the Orcs for several years, they encountered messengers from Shattrath and learned that the Draenei had reclaimed the city. The Broken returned to Shattrath with excitement, only to be met with expulsion.

The brethren they once protected now wanted to drive them out of Shattrath…

The Broken gripped their weapons tightly, looking at the Draenei with hatred.

Roger stopped. Aurelia's adjutant, Thas'reah, explained, "These people were once Draenei, but they were corrupted by fel energy, transforming them into what they are now. They call themselves the Broken, and they have been fighting the Orcs all these years. After the Shattrath messengers found them, they wanted to return to Shattrath to help the Draenei, but the Draenei rejected them because of the corruption on their bodies. These former Draenei heroes are now treated like this, which is truly disheartening. But after all, this is a matter for the Draenei themselves, and we shouldn't interfere too much."

At this moment, someone emerged from the Broken and asked the Draenei, "If it weren't for us, would you still be basking in the Light? You once discriminated against Maraad, but now you revere him as a savior. Which one is the real you?"

The Draenei felt somewhat guilty, but they quickly became angry out of embarrassment. No matter what the Broken said, they wanted to drive them away.

"Let's go!" Akama said to the Broken, disheartened. "They no longer consider us their kin, and there's no need for us to stay here. But we will continue our mission because we cannot forget where we came from."

The Broken turned around and followed Akama's footsteps, walking out of the city. The city they once risked their lives to protect was no longer their home.

Roger's expression shifted slightly. He turned to look at Thas'reah. "Send someone to follow them out of the city, and then tell the Broken that I want to talk to them. Have them find me in Tuurem."

Thas'reah was taken aback. "You want to accept these Broken?"

"Acceptance is not the right word; cooperation is possible," Roger said. "Our strength in Draenor is too weak. We must try to win over any forces we can. Not only the Broken, but also the Arakkoa. Have them send an army to Tuurem. Next, we will help them reclaim the Spires of Arak and help them return home."

Thas'reah nodded. Although the Alliance had thousands of people, it was still too few. If they were to defend alone, they could only defend Honor Hold and the Black Temple, and all other strongholds would have to be abandoned. But after joining the Draenei Alliance, they gained a large city like Shattrath as a stronghold. If they could also unite the Broken and the Arakkoa, they could gain two more large strongholds.

Now that the Alliance could not return to Azeroth, they had to develop well in Draenor to prepare for their return.

"Then I won't accompany you!" Thas'reah bid farewell to Roger and went to arrange matters for the Broken and the Arakkoa.

Roger walked up the tower alone. The Draenei who had blocked the door just now awkwardly hid to the side. Although their actions of driving away the Broken were shameless, it didn't mean they had no sense of shame.

People are indeed complex creatures.

Roger ignored the Draenei and quickened his pace up the tower. Soon, he saw Alleria teaching ranger tactics, her belly large with child.

Alleria entrusted the task of garrisoning Shattrath to Thas'reah, and then she and Roger rode the black dragon whelp to Tuurem together.

The Broken were already waiting there. They had long heard of Roger's name and were very interested that this Alliance commander wanted to meet them, these exiles. These homeless people now needed recognition the most.

After Roger arrived, he first arranged for Alleria to visit the Destroyer, and then he met with the Broken's leaders, Akama and Nubudon.

Akama was one of the five great Draenei archbishops, holding an extraordinary position. Nubudon was the religious leader of the Broken. They had been abandoned by the Light, and it was Nubudon who brought the way of the shaman, allowing them to regain their confidence.

"Respected Commander, I wonder what business you have with us homeless people?" Akama and Nubudon asked cautiously.

Roger smiled and said, "Since you are homeless, then build a new home for yourselves."

Akama and Nubudon exchanged glances. Although they thought Roger's words made sense, they wouldn't change their sad mood with just one sentence.

Roger continued, "Of course, if you want to return to your original forms, that's also possible."

The two looked at Roger in surprise. "What do you mean by that?"

"Literal meaning!" Roger said. "I have been studying the domain of life and spells to remove fel curses. If you are willing to cooperate, I can research in this area and help you return to your former selves as much as possible."

"What do we need to give in return?" Akama didn't believe that there was a free lunch in the world. Everything came at a price.

Roger smiled. "Of course, I won't help you for nothing. Let's make a deal. I will help you solve this problem within ten years, and you need to work for me during this period. If I help you remove the corruption, you will continue to work for me for another ten years; if I don't solve this problem within ten years, then I will hand over the ownership of the Black Temple to you."

Trading ten years of loyalty for the restoration of their appearance, and if their appearance isn't restored, there's still the Black Temple as compensation…

This is a worthwhile deal!

Akama and Nubudon both realized this, so they very decisively agreed to Roger's deal.
