Chapter 56: Miss, Take Note of the People around You

Perhaps out of guilt, Ji Hanjiang asked Yan Yiren out for dinner every single day over the past few days. After dinner, they would either go to see a movie or a musical.

Ling Yunhuan couldn’t sit still. This wasn’t a good sign!

Didn’t he feel better with her than any other time during that day?

Why did he not find her again after that?

Finally, Yan Yiren inadvertently told Ling Yunhuan where she and Hanjiang would be having lunch tomorrow while they were chatting on the phone. The next day, Ling Yunhuan headed over to the restaurant in the afternoon.

Ji Hanjiang had gone to pick up Yan Yiren from Yuan Jia himself before they made their way to the restaurant. Passing the car keys over to the valet driver, Ji Hanjiang held Yan Yiren’s hand as they walked into the restaurant.

After ordering, Ji Hanjiang got the urge to go for a cigarette. Apologetically, he said, “Yiren, I’m going for a smoke.”

Yan Yiren had tried to get him to give up smoking, but it was just too hard.

Quitting wasn’t something that could be accomplished overnight. When they had first started dating, he was heavily addicted to smoking and she had expressed her displeasure about it.

After that, she ordered him to quit smoking. It had been a gradual process and now he would occasionally smoke up to two to three cigarettes.

“Alright, come back quickly.”

“Got it.”

Ji Hanjiang made his way to the smoking area. Once he lit up a cigarette, Ling Yunhuan appeared.

Dressed in Dolce & Gabbana’s newest dress, the hint of luxury wasn’t lost despite the bright colors. Along with her refined makeup, Ling Yunhuan’s appearance had quickly drawn the attention of the men in the smoking area.

“Why are you here?” Ji Hanjiang narrowed his eyes slightly.

Ling Yunhuan made her way to him, saying candidly, “Because I miss you. You haven’t contacted me in days.”

All of a sudden, she broke into a mysterious smile. Leaning over, she whispered beside his ear, “Besides, I’m thinking…”

With a shove, Ji Hanjiang pushed her away. “Go away!”

Indignant, Ling Yunhuan approached him once more.

From the side, Chen Ce watched on as two flirted as if no one was around. He narrowed his eyes slightly. If he wasn’t mistaken, wasn’t this man the one who had come in with Yan Yiren?

He was currently out here hooking up with some other woman.

He exhaled a mouthful of smoke. There wasn’t much time left. Chen Ce quickly finished the remaining half of the cigar, sighing under his breath. Young Master’s Cuban cigar was surely the best stuff!

Walking out of the smoking area, Chen Ce caught sight of Yan Yiren, sitting at the table waiting for the dishes to be served. He thought about how she had once cajoled Miss into eating an entire bowl of rice. He should give this foolish woman a reminder.

Knock knock knock.

Someone knocked on the table. Yan Yiren lifted her head. Chen Ce kept it short. “Miss, take note of the people around you.”

After finishing his piece, he left in a hurry. He was pressed for time and had to get back to report to his master.

“What do you mean?” Yan Yiren watched as Chen Ce’s back drew further and further away. He was dressed quite well and even looked decent. Why had he said something so strange to her?

She didn’t know him, did she?
