The Spoiled Girl

What Darren said was nothing new to Nora, and she didn't doubt that Darren had the ability to do many bad things.

There was a hint of fear in her eyes, but she still refuted, "I've told you that I no longer have any feelings for Carlos. Our relationship is history. So what you do to him is none of my concern!"

"Really? Is that truly how you feel?" Darren asked with a smirk.

'Does she take me for a fool?' he thought. Nora had never sacrificed anything for a man like she had done for Carlos. In the past, men had only been there for her to use and take from.

Her greed was something that she couldn't control. If she hadn't loved Carlos so deeply, she wouldn't have done the heinous things that Darren had demanded of her.

Now she claimed to have given up the relationship with Carlos all of a sudden? That was simply not possible. It was not her style. The only possibility was that she was claiming this in a vain attempt to escape from Darren's control.

But how could Darren just let her go so easily? He wouldn't throw away such a powerful tool as Nora. She was too useful to him.

When Nora heard his dark question, she immediately pictured his snickering face. Even though she was too nervous to speak, her common sense made her insist, "Yes... Yes, of course!"

Hearing this, Darren's smile instantly vanished. He turned serious and said, "Very good! Nora, this is the last chance I'm giving you. Are you sure you won't change your mind?"

Nora was already in a foul mood, so when she heard his threat, she felt even more uneasy. While she was planning on what to say, the door of her apartment suddenly opened. Nora looked up and saw Carlos looming at the door with a thunderous face.

Carlos already knew the password of her apartment's door. But he had always knocked at the door and waited for her to open it in the past.

But today, everything had changed. Not only had he opened the door by himself, but his expression sent a stab of terror into her heart.

Nora instantly realized what had happened. He must have found out about her involvement!

Her mind instantly went blank, and she hung up the phone without thinking.

He irritably shook off Nora's imploring hands. His action was so rough and forceful that Nora could not remain standing and fell to the floor where she lay crumpled over.

Despite this, Carlos remained unmoved. Nora had hit the floor heavily, and even though she was injured, it was just a physical pain, and she would recover. But because of her, Cherish had almost lost her life!

When she saw that Carlos was not moved, Nora crawled along the floor to his feet. Her eyes were full of tears, and she grabbed his leg. She became a little angry suddenly and said, "I really... I just wanted a simple love. I don't want to share my man with another woman. Does that make me a bad person? What on earth did I do wrong? Even if I did overreact, nothing irrevocable happened to Cherish. How can you treat me like this?!"

"You have been the only one in my heart from the very beginning. Cherish was only a bridge to help us meet each other. But Nora, you have really gone too far! You have disappointed me again and again with your lies and deceit. Now I am completely through with you! It was only now that I discovered the one I love is just the pure impression you had left on me after I met you for the first time. In my heart, you were upheld and seen as being the perfect one. But I was mistaken. Now I have seen through your mask. I see the real you. What you have done is totally unacceptable to me!" Carlos said through clenched teeth.
