The Spoiled Girl
Chapter 1345 Hospitalized
Estelle stood up absent-mindedly, took her bag, and went outside.
Ever since she returned from the prison, she had been absent-minded and clearly distracted. However, deep down in her heart, she still trusted Ethan. She also believed that her instincts were correct.
However, following on Ellen's poisonous words, Estelle had begun to suspect him.
When she returned to her home and opened the door, there was no one at home, and the living room was empty. She felt instantly confused. In the past, Ethan would have been at home early.
What happened to delay him today?
As she struggled with her confusion, she suddenly heard sounds coming from the kitchen. Estelle quietly moved in the direction from which the sounds came and found that Ethan was cooking.
She walked towards him, surprise written all over her face as she asked, "When did you learn to cook?"
Ethan turned to face her with a spatula in his hand. He was all geared up to cook, had even donned a pink apron, and was looking quite cute.
As soon as he saw that Estelle had returned, he walked to her with long strides. He wrapped his arms around her and put his forehead against hers as he said in a gentle voice, "I learned it specially for you."
Happiness flooded her heart, and she brimmed with a bright smile curving on her face. Then, she heard Ethan say, "Go and wash your hands. Dinner will be ready soon."
"Okay," she agreed easily. Estelle smiled and peeked over his shoulder out of curiosity. "What dishes have you prepared?"
In the past, she had been the one responsible for taking care of him. But today, he had suddenly come home early to cook for her. Estelle was not used to such treatment, but she was much more curious about the culinary skills of this new cook.
Ethan playfully blocked her view and said with a mischievous smile, "You'll know what I prepared. Just wait and see."
After washing her hands, Estelle sat patiently at the dining table, and when she looked into the kitchen where Ethan was still busy cooking, she was suddenly aware of her heart being in turmoil as a mix of emotions churned through her heart.
Soon, Ethan happily brought the dishes to the dining table. The two of them were just like an ordinary and happy couple, who shared three meals a day and enjoyed their lives together. After serving all the dishes, Ethan sat next to her with a look of pure virtue on his face. Then, handing her the chopsticks with a smile, he invited, "Have a try."
Estelle saw that Ethan had prepared two main dishes and a pot of steaming soup. These were all of the home-cooked variety, but
uld also take good care of yourself. Only in this way will Master Jacob not need to worry about you."
Two hours later, Carter returned to the villa, but his report to Emily wasn't satisfactory. "My Lady, I personally took the medicines to Mr. Louis's company, but I didn't see him. His assistant told me that he was not in his office. More accurately, he hasn't been at the office for quite a while. At present, he works through the internet, and his assistant doesn't know where he is. However, she promised that she would pass along your instructions to him, and that she would try her best to give him the medicines as soon as possible."
Hearing this, Emily was quite shocked for a while. Hadn't Louis been working at the company recently?
But he had a similar character to Jacob. Neither of them cared about themselves when it came to work. No matter what happened, it was impossible for them to slack off in their work.
She stood up and paced to and fro as her face tightened with worry. When she wanted to ask more, she raised her eyes and saw Jacob coming in. She hurriedly walked to him and asked, "Jacob, has something happened to my brother recently?"
Jacob was stunned at this sudden question. He was caught off guard and paused, wondering what to tell her. He hadn't told her the truth about Louis's surgery, because he had feared that it would cause her undue tension.
In theory, no one else knew about the kidney donation, except for him and Taylor.
Jacob looked at Emily and softly explained, "You don't have to worry so much. In fact, he is okay. He has been sick recently and is recovering in the hospital now. He was afraid that you would be worried, so he asked me not to say anything to you for a while."
