The Spoiled Girl
Chapter 1373 Quarrel Between Estelle And Ethan
Emily stopped and turned around, waiting for Estelle to continue.
"Can... Can I stay in your house for a few days?" Estelle asked. She really couldn't go anywhere now, and Sybil had sold their house.
She suddenly wondered how her father was now.
Emily sneered. "What? The doctor said that your fainting was merely because of low blood pressure. Are you going to lay the blame on me? Are you trying to harass me?"
Estelle's pale face turned bright crimson right away. Then, she stammered, "No... I didn't mean that."
"So what did you mean? I've done my share by bringing you to the hospital. Do I need to put you up in my home as well? Estelle, you were the one who crossed the road during a red light," Emily said in a cold voice as she stepped forward.
"I have nowhere else to go." Estelle lowered her eyes as tears welled up under her lashes.
"That's not my concern," Emily replied.
Bonnie, who stood next to her, struggled to understand the situation.
She didn't understand how Emily, who was so kind to her, could be so cold-blooded to Estelle. Seeing that Estelle was so humble, she couldn't help interjecting, "Emily, she's not feeling well now. If she becomes too emotional, she might faint again. Please help her, or I can even share the house that you've rented to me with her."
Emily did not answer, but took Bonnie's hand and turned away.
"Emily, let's talk!" Estelle still didn't give up.
Emily stopped, but she did not turn back to face Estelle.
"Estelle, there is nothing left to say between you and me!" Emily said coldly. Then, she added over her shoulder, "Ethan, take care of your woman!"
With an unstoppable force, she strode out of the hospital with Bonnie in tow.
It was much later that night after Emily had dropped Bonnie back and then returned to her own house. She had taken a shower, and now, she was drying her hair while sitting at the bedside. Estelle's words echoed in her mind again. "I have nowhere else to go."
"Emily, what happened?"
Emily had been down in the dumps ever since she came back. Jacob circled her waist from behind with his strong arms, and he
ever stand toe to toe with Jacob. But she was reluctant to share the money with Estelle just because of this man's threats.
She smiled obsequiously. "It's not that I don't want to share the money with Estelle. However, I have already paid off my debt with the money from the house's sale. And now, I really have no money left to give her. As you well know, Estelle's father is seriously ill, and Ellen is in jail. It is difficult for me to attend to the family business all by myself."
Jacob's face became even colder. "So, you state that you won't share the money with her?"
Feeling mortified at hearing this question, Sybil flashed an awkward smile on her lips.
She cursed Jacob in her heart. She knew that if she didn't give them Estelle's share of the money today, she might not be able to continue staying in this city from tomorrow. To put it more directly, it would be impossible for her to continue living in this city from today.
"Of course, I will give her what is hers. But Estelle is not my daughter. I will only share the money with her because her name is on our household register."
Estelle was shocked when she received the money transfer notification. She couldn't believe that Sybil would ever be willing to transfer the money to her. Was she out of her mind?
She looked up at Ethan who was busy preparing food for her. Could it be due to him that Sybil had transferred the money to her?
