Kyaaaa~

As Nate arrived at the building towards the western side of the Academy, he immediately realized that the situation was not the best.

The professors had not quite reached this area, and there were already loud sounds and monstrous overwhelming energies clashing in the grounds of the academy between the Transcendent humans and creatures known as the Dragons.

Because of this, it was total pandemonium that welcomed Nate as he quickly turned his head towards the fourth story of the building where he had seen Elias and Elizabeth when Varpulis granted him a bit of his powers.

Nate rushed inside the building and made his way up the building as quickly as possible.

“Heh- look what we have here! Why don’t you come with us little lady and ditch that little pipsqueak? We’ll keep you nice and safe while the professors arrive.”

Some lecherous older male students were cornering Elizabeth and Elias in the recreation room of the building while the other students were in confusion and too distracted to even notice the disgusting behavior of these older classmates.

“Bug off.”

Elizabeth replied sharply as she aroused her mana core and outstretched her hands, preparing to cast.

“There’s no need for that.”

Suddenly a voice interrupted the tense atmosphere in the corner of the room where the group was.

Elizabeth and Elias both felt relief as soon as they heard the voice, despite them already being confident in taking down these older students with force if needed.

“Who are- AGH!”

The ringleader of the older male students tried to cry out but was hit promptly in the back of the head and knocked unconscious in a single blow while Nate made quick work of the others.

“Nate! Where’s Roy? Is he not with you?”

“Hey guys, he’s not. We have to move though. Things are getting out of hand and your master, Ferneth, is coming to the Academy as well to help out…. We need to prioritize escape right now.”

Elizabeth looked at Nate with an irritated expression as did Elias.

Over the past two months, Elias had quickly assimilated into their friend group and also had the same mindset as Elizabeth.

“But do you know where he is? We should get him before escaping, don’t you think?”

“That….”

Nate didn’t know what to say.

He was planning on getting Elizabeth and Elias outside the Academy as soon as possible and then going to Roy immediately after to see if he could help his best friend out.

“What do you think you’re doing? We’re all friends with each other, it’s not just about you. If Roy’s in danger, then we should all move together, not on our own.”

Elias had seen through Nate’s troubled expression as he already had an inkling of an idea that Roy might be mixed up with whatever was going on due to the voice from Dola inside of his head that told him about how important Roy was.

“But it’ll be dangerous. More dangerous than you could possibly imagine.”

Nate spoke coldly as if handing down an ultimatum.

Elizabeth looked at Nate with resolved eyes and didn’t waver in her conviction.

Elias was the same, but he did not know what Nate was referring to when he mentioned ‘before’.

Only time would tell as Nate finally gave up.

“Alright then, follow me.”

With that, Nate turned and exited the building with Elias and Elizabeth in turn.

[How much further?]

“Not long Tower Master.”

[Alright, let’s speed up then.]

Ferneth spoke in an urgent voice as he got rid of the skin mask on his face.

His black robe that fluttered with shadowy strips of dead mana had a new addition to it.

On the right breast pocket area of his pitch black robe, there was a purple badge that shone with a faint glint of light.

As the Tower Master of the Purple Tower, he had been appointed to devoting his research towards the same thing as always, with just the pretense that now he would no longer have to hide and he now had an official backer with the Royal Family of the Empire supporting his existence and research.

Traveling with him, was an individual that Ferneth would never have dared to come close to in his days as a wandering Arch-Lich.

Evanker, the Second Swordmaster.

Even in terms of raw mana, Evanker was at the 8-star level like him as a Magic Swordsman.

The only difference was that Evanker was at the 8-star level much longer than Tubel and Ferneth as he had been at the 8-star level for roughly twenty years.

Because of this, Ferneth often sought out advice and questions from Evanker with his new spell theories.

He couldn’t ask him to help out with experiments because Evanker was not that curious with magical science, but was focused on being honed for battle as his spells as an 8-star Magic Swordsman were ridiculously powerful.

‘…Elizabeth…’

Ferneth’s will o’ wisps burned a fiery emerald green with worry.

His next thoughts however, were about the cause of all this.

‘The Dragons came back for him. What exactly did he do?’

Ferneth respected Roy’s boundaries and did not try to dig into his past or ridiculous knowledge of things.

He realized Roy had many things he was hiding, but he also had a faint hunch like Tubel, that Argenta was oddly focused on Roy- or rather something about him during their entire fight.

As Ferneth and Evanker approached the Academy, Ferneth subconsciously shuddered.

Evanker was no different.

The mana in the air was thick, and it was especially strong in one area.

This area had two beings that were both much stronger than the Dragon named Argenta.

“Wow. To think you guys fought against something like that.”

Evanker shouldered a cold smile as he felt his adrenaline start to pump with excitement.

[No. We didn’t.]

“….?”

Evanker paused his steps and looked at Ferneth in confusion.

[The Dragon we faced… was much weaker than these ones. The one that we faced would already be difficult to face with you and I alone, but these ones are leagues above their kin.]

Evanker’s expression hardened.

Ferneth knew of the strength that most Dragons held due to the memory orb of the Grand Wizard from the devastated continent he traveled to in his days as a 6-star Arch-Lich.

[Be prepared to risk your life if things go bad in the future. This is nothing compared to the one they call the Dragon Lord.]

Ferneth didn’t offer any words of comfort as he recalled the memories of sheer and raw fear when he recalled the image of the Lord of these Dragons.

‘That being…. I hope we don’t anger him yet.’

Ferneth genuinely hoped that he would be able to fly under the radar and gather his strength before such a powerful being emerged.

The being he had seen emerge from the memory orb of the Grand-Wizard he had discovered, had a brutal death at the hands of the one known as the Lord of these Dragons.

‘His name was Parish…’

Ferneth looked at Evanker with worried eyes and eventually turned his gaze back towards the center of the battle occurring in the Academy.

Rumble!
It was only a bit of a ways away from their location, but the ground shook violently as bright explosions of mana, ki and aura were flung up into the night sky, making it look like fireworks.

But… anybody watching from afar and had an inkling of an idea of what was going on, knew. They knew what was about to unfold, could be a bloodbath.
