The Stars In Your Eyes

"Yutang, we missed you so much. How come you never visit us again? You still owe me those scallion pancakes!"

"Yes, and that Spring rolls. Do you know that Doctor Jian was lonely without you?"

"How are you lately? Why do you look so skinny? Ask for Doctor Jian to feed you a lot today, ah."

The nurses chirped their welcome to Bai Yutang who shyly smiled. "I'm sorry, JieJie. I promised that I will bring you all the snacks I owe you next week."

"It's a promise. Someone record his statement please, before he runs away again!"

Jian Kang Lu smiled to see his kitten surrounded by the nurses. He looked at his residents, and started questioning them. He wants to finish his Saturday round as soon as possible, and spend the precious time with his kitten alone.

The residents peeked at Bai Yutang. So they're already made up, huh? It could not be more obvious that this pair of mandarin ducks were spending the night together. Bai Yutang wears an oversize shirt. They dare to bet their whole salary that it was their superior's T-Shirt. Is it some naughty game they play? Wearing the boyfriend's shirt?

Not to mention that blinding smile from their superior. Please stop it Doctor Jian. Even when you were smiling gloomily in these past few months still didn't reduce your handsomeness and just add the melancholy charm to that well sculpted face. Please have mercy on us these single dogs. When you're smiling so bright like this besides us, what hope that we could have? No wonder we're still single until now.

But they're glad Bai Yutang was here. Their superior just looked past all their mistakes, and slowly corrected their treatment, giving a lot of pointer for the patients today. Yes, on a day like this, it was impossible for their superior to scold them even if they made fatal mistakes.

Jian Kang Lu truly feels that everything today looks so bright and colourful. All around him looked sparkling, beautiful. Especially the man who wears that oversized light blue shirt. Dazzling, stunning, breathtaking. How come just with his kitten's presence could change all the things surrounding him? How come his kitten still looks so handsome even when his cheek is pale and hollow?

"I'm done after this ward, TangTang. What do you want for lunch?"

"Let's eat something near, Gege. We need to pack your stuff after this."

"Mmm. You'll help me pack, right?"

Bai Yutang smiled. They separated for so long, but he knows what expression Jian Kang Lu shows now. Anxious. Hoped.

"I will, gege. I won't go anywhere."

Jian Kang Lu wrapped his Saturday round high spirited. He felt this was the best Saturday round he ever had. Maybe if they could finish packing his stuff quickly, he could take his kitten to the shopping mall and buy clothes for him. He felt reluctant to send his kitten to his dorm to pick his clothes, afraid his kitten will choose to stay at his dorm instead of staying in the apartment with him.

He could not bear to sleep alone at that apartment ever again.

They finally ate at the Chinese restaurant which Bai Yutang liked so much. The restaurant specialises in B city cuisine and a favourite among the locals. It was famous for its immaculate and thoughtful presentation. The crispy-skinned peking duck comes inscribed with a character you choose, and the special fried rice is in the form of honeycomb coal and lit on the table. The decor is suitably old B city and reflects the food authenticity.

"Gege, don't order so much food." Bai Yutang holds his lover's hand, preventing him from ordering everything the restaurant offers on their menu. He skilfully reduced their order, shattering the waitress's hope.

Jian Kang Lu frowned. He wants his kitten to eat a lot and gain his healthy look again. But of course he could not say no to his kitten. So he just silently let his kitten reduce 75% of his original order.

How could he say no to his kitten when his kitten holds his hand like this. His kitten holds his hand several times in public, but never for too long. And now even after the waitress left, his kitten was still holding his hand. Didn't let it go.

"Gege.."

Jian Kang Lu snapped from his reverie. "Mm, what is it TangTang?" He could see his kitten lowered his head again, and the tip of that beautiful ears turned red again.

"C-Can I moved back with you?"

For a moment, Jian Kang Lu was lost for words. He was so happy, and disappointed with himself at the same time. Did he forget to ask his kitten to move back with him? He can't think straight since his kitten showed up in his life again. He thought he already made himself clear with his intention.

"I'm sorry, TangTang. I'm the one who should ask you. Would you live together with me again?"

His kitten just nodded his head, and his slender hand was still there. Hold his hands. Jian Kang Lu clasp those warm hands tighter. To feel the warmth emitted from each finger, to caress that soft skin on his palms.

"How about your things in your dorm? Should we fetch it today?"

His kitten pondered, and shook his head. "Maybe tomorrow. You'll have your family lunch tomorrow, right? I could pack my things and move tomorrow."

Jian Kang Lu didn't answer, he tried so hard to press his strong urge for kissing each fingertips of his kitten. How could someone as cute as his kitten be willing to be with him?

"Then let me drive you to the dorm tomorrow, and pick you after I finish my Sunday lunch."

His kitten nodded. They only let their hands go when the waitress came with their food. Jian Kang Lu smiling constantly to see his kitten obediently finishing everything he put in his plate. He can't take his eyes away from his kitten. Even the way he chews this peking duck is so cute.

They drove back to the rented apartment and packed Jian Kang Lu's stuff. His kitten didn't ask him anything about this apartment again. His kitten didn't talk much, and Jian Kang Lu did the same.

Somehow he was afraid to ask how Bai Yutang was doing for these past few months without him. He could not acknowledge there are times in his kitten's life which spent without him.

It took less than two hours to pack all his stuff. Nothing much anyway. Only clothes and books. Most of his stuff is still in the apartment. They left the apartment and drove back to their original apartment. To their home. Then Jian Kang Lu remembered he wanted to buy the things his kitten might need for today.

"TangTang, do you need to buy anything? We could stop by in the shopping mall first, and have our dinner there."

Bai Yutang nodded. "Yes, i need to buy clothes for tomorrow. Let's buy groceries too, gege. What do you want to eat for breakfast tomorrow?"

Jian Kang Lu didn't know how his day kept getting better and better each moment passed with his kitten besides him. How he missed to have his kitten cook for him again. Something he dreamed for, and now it seems will turn into reality.

"You know that I loved everything you cooked."

His kitten chuckled, "And after all these times, you're still not helping me, gege. Okay, then i'll cook that omelette rice you liked. You want it with carrots too?"

Jian Kang Lu just reached for his kitten's hand, and kissed it softly.

They arrived at the shopping mall, and Jian Kang Lu chuckled when his kitten stuttered with red ears saying that he needed to buy underwear too. Jian Kang Lu knows exactly whose underwear Bai Yutang is wearing now.

When they picked some clothes too, his kitten held his hands again when he wanted to go inside the branded store he liked. His kitten deserves the best material for his clothes. But Jian Kang Lu could not say anything and just follow his kitten like a cow dragged to plow the fields. His kitten chose a simple cheap store and picked a simple pair of trousers and T-shirts.

Jian Kang Lu just felt that flowers bloom everywhere, with soft winds pushing against the unmown grass. The late spring sun brings a welcoming warmth that coats him as good as caramel over a harvest apple. His kitten didn't let his hands go even when he picked the clothes.

His kitten only lets his hands go when they reach the cashier and want to pay. Jian Kang Lu snapped from his daydream once again and hurriedly reached for his own wallet. How come he let his kitten pay for his clothes. He didn't even want his kitten to spend his own money ever again.

But the birds are chirping again and the rainbows seem to fill this shopping mall when his kitten holds his hands again after he paid. They walk hand in hand, even when they pick the basic necessities and their groceries.

Even in his dreams, Jian Kang Lu never imagined his kitten showing his bold affection in public like this. It made him feel happy. Acknowledge. Owned.

Bai Yutang aware people looked at them with curiosity. Jian Kang Lu's face alone is enough to attract people's attention. Dozens of pairs of eyes coveting his man, and also looking at their holding hands with some weird look in their eyes.

But as long as his lover didn't mind, he was more than happy to hold his lover's hand. Never to let it go again. For his world could never be the same without Jian Kang Lu in his life. 

They have their dinner in the luxurious steak restaurant in that shopping mall. Bai Yutang smiled to see Jian Kang Lu cut the steak into small pieces for him. This is what his lover always does. Pampered him like a toddler. How he missed to have these small affections again from his lover, and his heart stung once more to remember how foolish he was to hurt this man.

When they finished, Jian Kang Lu driving back home still with a smile plastered permanently on his face. Suddenly his kitten laid his head on his shoulder, put his hands around his waist. It made Jian Kang Lu's heart pounding crazy. Is it just his own imagination or his kitten becoming even more affectionate with him?

"Gege.."

"Mmm?" Jian Kang Lu gently stroked his kitten's hands that laid on his waist.

"Yuxuan wants to apologise to you too…"
