The Stars In Your Eyes

"Woah, look at the ocean!" Yu Dong's voice can't cover his excitement. The ocean covered in blue, sparkling beneath the sun. The sky was clear, with white fluffy clouds hanging like fluffy cotton candy waited to be picked. They could smell the salt breeze when Yu Dong opened the door to the balcony.

Bai Yutang himself can't hold his own enthusiasm even when he was still on the plane. When he suggested his lover go to the beach for this holiday with his friends, he didn't mean to ask his lover to cover for their hotel expenses. Four of them planned to stay in some cheap BnB hotel since the travel cost itself was already expensive for them.

But he didn't even have any chance to say his opinion to his lover, since his lover directly arranged the room for them. Once he heard which hotel his lover booked for them, he searched it immediately on his mobile phone. He knows that this hotel is expensive, but worth every penny.

He remembers what his lover said when he protested Jian Kang Lu for making the reservation. "It's our holiday too.. Can't I spend my holiday with my baby in some nice places?"

The four hour flight from B city to this beach didn't even exhaust them, since they're so excited for their holiday. More over for his friends who just released from hellish schedules and hectic life from their final year and graduation.

Liu Xian hugged Bai Yutang from behind, "This wife loves you so much. Thank you for having a rich boyfriend who pampered us too."

Bai Yutang laughed and tried to get rid of Liu Xiang's head rubbing his shoulder. Tang Yuxuan was still on the door dragging his big luggage and frowned to see both of them cuddling.

"Be careful Xiang. Daddy will take your photograph molesting TangTang and send it to Jian Ge if you still don't want to get rid of your luggage." Tang Yuxuan almost kicked Liu Xiang's luggage which he abandoned in the hallway.

Yu Dong was busy taking pictures with his mobile phone, admiring the scenery from the balcony. Their room was a twin bed room with an ocean view which they could admire from the balcony. The room is designed with walls facing the ocean made with all glass windows. There are big sofas on the balcony for them to enjoy the scenery to the fullest.

"Jian Ge will come tomorrow? We don't need to pick him up in the airport?" Yu Dong asked Bai Yutang.

"DongDong! Unpack your luggage first, or i'll kick your luggage out from here!" Tang Yuxuan angrily shouting from the closet.

Bai Yutang didn't unpack all his luggage, since he'll move to his lover's room tomorrow. He opened his luggage just to take some clothes out. "Yes, gege said we don't need to pick him up. The hotel will pick him up. He'll arrive at night I guess, and we'll have dinner together once he arrived."

At first, his lover wanted to book two rooms for all of them, but Yu Dong protested it. "One room is enough for all of us. We'll spend most of our time together, why need to spend more money? Don't tell me Jian Ge will get jealous if i sleep with you in one bed." Thus for today, four of them will spend the night here together.

"Let's just go down, we can unpack all of these later." Liu Xiang rambled while he fought with Liu Xiang to put his clothes in the closet.

Yu Dong excitedly agreed. "I'm hungry too. Let's just eat downstairs, I saw their outdoor bar and lounge on the internet and it was amazing!"

Bai Yutang had to agree with Yu Dong. Four of them are architects, it was truly a feast to their senses to see beautiful buildings with magnificent beaches spread before them like this. They go down to the 13th floor, where the stellar poolside bar is one of the coolest perches on this island. There are panoramic sea views, sunken lounge, and a spectacular 360-foot-long infinity pool.

Yu Dong can't stop taking pictures, forget about his hunger. Bai Yutang can't help but smile to see his friend's excitement and order snacks for them. His lover already told him to treat his friends. He was once reluctant to spend his lover's money, but now he is learning to do that. This is one of his lover's ways to show his friends that he was a person that loved Bai Yutang, and take care of him.

For Bai Yutang himself, he wants to clear all misunderstandings between his friends and his lover. He was glad his lover never spoke anything against Tang Yuxuan, and Tang Yuxuan also tried his best not to act awkward toward them. He knows it was not easy for both of them.

"TangTang, is it okay to order many things?" Liu Xiang nudged him. He felt uneasy to see how expensive all these food costs in this hotel.

Bai Yutang grinned, "It's okay. My boyfriend is rich."

Liu Xiang laughed, that is one statement he can't refute. He was glad to see Bai Yutang come back to his lively personality once he made up with Jian Kang Lu. He can't deny that he was surprised and uneasy when he first heard from Bai Yutang that he had a romantic relationship with Jian Kang Lu. He had his own suspicion, but still it was not easy to learn that your best friend for five years having a same sex relationship.

But that uneasiness only lasted short, for he didn't see any differences. And the most important thing is that his friend seems happy. He could see Bai Yutang's effort to show them that Jian Kang Lu treated him very well.

"Is it true that this hotel is owned by Jian Ge's friend?" Yu Dong sat beside Bai Yutang once their food arrived.

Bai Yutang shook his head, "Not owned, but Wang Ge is one of the major shareholders here."

Bai Yutang himself can't remember clearly which one is Wang Xian Jian. He didn't come to every party Jian Kang Lu invited. Most of them are rich and powerful people. His lover told him that they met Wang Xian Jian last month at one of the weddings they were invited to. Usually when he attends those parties with Jian Kang Lu, he tries his best to stay low profile.

But since Bai Yutang got back together with Jian Kang Lu, he swallows his inferiority and stands as proud as he can beside his lover. He knows his lover proudly showing him to his friends and like when Bai Yutang holds his hands all the time.

Four of them go back to the room to take shower, and rest for a little bit before going down again and enjoying the sunset on the beach. The warm wind on this tropical island blew his hair. The sun set in the sky as fresh colours brushed upon God's canvas, as if those rays were destined to capture simple moments in the soul.

He smiled while looking at his lover's message. It was a reply to his message, a selfie of him with the warm orange sunset in the background.

[I can't wait to see the sunset tomorrow with you. But I think you look more dazzling compared to the beautiful sunset behind you.]

His lover could be very cheesy sometimes. But he likes it.

"So, what are you planning after this?" Bai Yutang asked Tang Yuxuan. Both of them sit on the bench while looking at Liu Xiang who is busy taking pictures in acrobatic position.

Tang Yuxuan's eyes glued to the horizon, admiring the blurred golden line between the sea and sky. "I was planning to look for a job in B city. You know, for two years experience before we applied for the license."

Bai Yutang knows that Tang Yuxuan still wants to be in B city because Feng Mian hasn't finished her final project. In actuality, only half of his class could graduate on time like Tang Yuxuan. Feng Mian herself decided to take another semester since she needed to retake some classes.

Yu Dong came to them, sitting leisurely with one of his hands texting his girlfriend. "Wish Xiaoya could join us. Maybe next year i'll come back here with her after her graduation."

Bai Yutang asked Tang Yuxuan again, "Where do you want to apply?"

Tang Yuxuan shrugged his shoulders, "Anywhere, I guess. Fresh graduates can't be picky. But I want to apply at least for the middle class firm, like F concept or Aegis."

"And you, DongDong?" Bai Yutang asked Yu Dong.

"I don't know. What do you guys think?" Yu Dong himself still has no idea where he wants to work. All of them know that Liu Xiang wants to apply in Zhen Guo's firm. He himself still didn't know whether he'll go back to his hometown or search for a job in B city. 

"I guess you should discuss this with Xiaoya. Why don't you search for a job here, Xiaoya also still needs one or one and half years to graduate." Bai Yutang gave his honest opinion.

Yu Dong's eyes squinted, "Yeah, Xiaoya also told us better for us to search for a job here first before settling down after we got our license."

Liu Xiang ran towards them, and snatched the beer from Tang Yuxuan's hand. "Are you planning to marry Xiaoya after she graduates or after you get your license?"

Yu Dong smiled, "I think after i got my license. I also need to save for the wedding."

Tang Yuxuan snatched the beed back, "Woah, look at this henpecked husband. Daddy pray that Xiaoya still wants to accept your proposal when the time comes."

"Look at yourself. Are you serious with MianMian?" Liu Xiang waved his hand to order more beer. Sunset and beer are the best pair to enjoy your holiday.

Tang Yuxuan himself didn't know how to answer. He is always serious when having relationships. But marriage still feels faraway, for him it was not his priority right now. Getting a job and his license is his first priority.

"I don't know. I guess marriage is not my priority right now, but I'm serious with MianMian. You know i never took my relationship as a joke"

Three of them are baby chick who are just hatching. The future is full of uncertainty, and lots of responsibility comes when you become an adult. Bai Yutang himself feels lucky that he only needs to think about his final project, and how he wants to revise his whole project. 

"How about you, TangTang? Once you graduate, are you staying in B city?" Yu Dong asked him. 

Bai Yutang smiled, he knows none of his friends will ever ask him about marriage like a normal young man his age. "Yes, i decided to stay there."

Bai Yutang knows he can't ask his lover to move with him back to W city. And he was sure neither he or his lover could live separately. His future might seem vague if they talk about jobs, but one thing he knows for sure is that he wants to live the rest of his life with his lover. Never separated again.
