The Stars In Your Eyes

Bai Yutang took half day leave to pick his mother, his grandparents, his uncle, and Bai Yuren. Jian Kang Lu told Bai Yutang this is a once in a lifetime moment, so no need to think about the money.

His aunt stayed at home with her baby and his son. Lu Jiang will have his gaokao in less than 2 week, so he can't be bothered with anything. 

Bai Yutang rented three rooms in a hotel near T university for them. They will be going back to W city on Sunday. Only Bai Yuren will stay for two weeks, spending her holiday here. Bai Yutang asked his mom whether she wanted to spend time here with Bai Yuren also, but his mother refused, saying she wanted to go back to W city with the family.

When Bai Yutang was waiting for his family to land at the airport, his mind went back to the conversation last Sunday with Lin Caihong. At that time, Lin Caihong calmly asked his permission to come to his graduation day. Her implicit question was clear, whether Bai Yutang wanted to tell his family about Jian Kang Lu.

At that time, Bai Yutang could only take a deep breath and tell Lin Caihong honestly. "It would be my honour if mother and father could come to my graduation day. I just haven't told my family about my relationship with Jian Ge yet. My sister seems to know about it, but i still need some time to make my mother accept it." Bai Yutang can't look at Lin Caihong when he said that, he was afraid Lin Caihong would be disappointed.

But he was surprised to feel Lin Caihong's hand pat his back, "We understand. We just want to come, and also imprint a good impression on our future in law. We don't want to pressured you, just want to meet your mother and spend some time with her."

She looks at Bai Yutang's eyes, and gently pats his back again. "Take it slow, we understand not every parent will be like us." Her eyes are warm, and shows her compassion.

Bai Yutang really feels grateful to know Jian Kang Lu and his family. How many people are as lucky as him? When everyone else broken hearted and live a hard life, even the heterosexual couple, his life seems so smooth. Just like his lover told him, never count your misery and only count your blessing. It seems, the more he counted his blessing, the more he received.

Under Lin Caihong's invitation, all of them will have graduation lunch in S hotel after the ceremony. Bai Yutang felt guilty for making Lin Caihong cancel her attendance at that fashion dinner event. But then Lin Caihong only laughed and said that kind of invitation is not important, there's many invitations in the future that Bai Yutang needs to accompany her.

Not long after he was waiting in the airport, Bai Yutang saw his family walking out from the arrival gate. They hugged each other, Bai Yutang felt grateful his grandparents were still healthy enough for this journey. Even though his father can't see him in the graduation ceremony, at least his family can see it.

Bai Yutang paid for the plane and the hotel, but Jian Kang Lu insisted on renting a car for them to use in these four days. In case his mother and his grandparents want to go out enjoying B city, they could do it leisurely with this trusted driver. Jian Kang Lu himself felt apologetic he can't pick his future in laws and accompany them. He could only close his practice on Friday afternoon to have dinner with them, and also delegate his Saturday round to his junior.

Bai Yutang himself is grateful for his lover's decision. He has not yet passed his three months probation, it was not wise to take too many leaves. So he only took a half day leave today.

"Gege, this car is ours to use, right?" Bai Yuren's chirping voice asked him straight once she sat down in the car. Bai Yutang smiled helplessly and nodded. "It's all yours. Just tell Mr. Zhong where you guys want to go tomorrow. Just remember that we have dinner at W restaurant, so don't be late tomorrow." 

Jian Kang Lu had reserved the private room in the W restaurant. It was the best luxurious Chinese restaurant in the city owned by Song Lixia's parents. They already prepare their signature and limited delicacies of W restaurant on behalf of Jian Kang Lu's reservation.

"Great! I'll take grandpa and grandma to the palace tomorrow and stroll around by car. Is that okay?" Bai Yuren didn't want his grandparents too tired from walking so much, thus she planned to only let them look at the palace for a while, then let them look at B city in the car to prevent them from getting tired out.

Once they arrived at the hotel, his mother dragged him and whispered, "Is this hotel not expensive, TangTang? We can just rent two room instead of three."

Bai Yutang forces himself to smile to assure his mother. He felt this is his fault for making his mother who once never thought about money when his father alive changed into a woman who was always afraid to spend a little bit of money. "No, it's okay mom. We have money, I have money too from my salary."

Lu Hua knows the car was sponsored by Jian Kang Lu, so she finally silent and said nothing when his son paid for the three rooms. They go upstairs, Bai Yutang entertains his uncle and his grandparents well. For tonight, they will have dinner in Huxiang, the hotpot restaurant near T university. Bai Yutang smiled to reminiscence the time when he and Jian Kang Lu ate there for the first time, their second date.

The next day, Bai Yutang concentrates on his work with utmost focus since he needs to wrap up his work as soon as possible. Luckily the project also came close soon and he didn't need to do much. Bai Yuren sent him the pictures from his family vacation strolling around in B city. Bai Yutang already gave Bai Yuren money for his mother and his family spending, including their lunch.

Bai Yuren sent the pictures when they had lunch in the famous B city peking duck restaurant. Bai Yutang calculates in his brain, whether the money is enough or not. He doesn't know that Bai Yuren was holding Jian Kang Lu's card. 

Bai Yuren specifically drops in at the hospital first before they go out for a stroll around. When Lu Hua asked Bai Yuren what she intended to do when they were waiting in the hospital lobby, Bai Yuren only told her mother that she wanted to see where Jian Kang Lu work, for maybe she will take her residency here.

This led to 30 minutes of heated discussion among her grandparents and her mother. Her grandparents think if Bai Yutang already makes up his mind and seems to want to move to B city, it will be hard for Lu Hua if Bai Yuren also moved here.

Bai Yuren is different from Bai Yutang, she didn't take her grandparents' words seriously. She lightly said if she wants to be a doctor, for sure she wants to work in a good hospital. And Jian Kang Lu's hospital is one of the best in the country. Many people can't even get an appointment here even though they had to wait for months. Jian Kang Lu himself is famous in the doctor's circle.

At night, Bai Yutang comes to pick his family and then goes to the restaurant to meet Jian Kang Lu. This was the second time his uncle and his grandparents met Jian Kang Lu. Bai Yutang tried his best to show not an over intimate attitude with Jian Kang Lu, but his lover seems to be in a mood of showing his love everywhere. Luckily after two sharp glares and one pinch on his lover's thighs, his lover seems to finally realise and behave himself.

Bai Yuren shows her value as the best sister in law for Jian Kang Lu. She occupied the conversation with Jian Kang Lu, talking about her pharmacology and physiology class. The others who didn't understand, were forced to talk between themselves. 

Bai Yutang indulges himself by listening to his mother's story about her life working in the kitchen, as well as his grandparents' lectures about filial duty to accompany his mother. This led to Lu Hua's strong argument with her mother regarding letting Bai Yutang do what he wants, work anywhere he wants.

"Okay okay, calm down mom, grandma. You need to wake up early tomorrow. Try this abalone soup mom, and this bird nest soup for you grandma." Bai Yutang skilfully scoop the soup and place it in front of his mother and grandmother.

Bai Yutang's grandpa's house sold last month, and he lives in the house occupied by his grandparents from his mother, along with his uncle and his family. Lu Hua changed the conversation and asked Bai Haoran's father to live together with her. Lu Hua knows that her father in law felt more comfortable to live in the same environment he lived for more than 30 years, but still a house with three adults, one teenager, and one baby, is not the best place for a 70 year old man cramped into.

Lu Hua and Bai Yutang could only sigh when his grandparents stick together and said it was best for them to live together instead of Bail Haoran's father moving to Lu Hua's house.

Bai Yuren suddenly joined the conversation, "Then how about all of you grandpa and grandma, moved to our house? Our house is big. If grandma is afraid mom will be lonely, then why not live together?"

It was Lu Hua's parents turn to argue with Bai Yuren. Bai Yutang wants to laugh to see the chaotic moments in front of him.

Count your blessing instead of your misery. Rather than questioning why his grandparents seemed to be urging him to move back to B city, rather than feeling helpless to try to explain why he wanted to stay here in B city, it was better to look at the warm scene in front of him.

His grandmother is healthy enough to argue with his mother and his sister. His grandparents are healthy enough to travel here and watch him graduate tomorrow. His family loves him and spends their time having dinner together with him and his lover.

He was grateful for the lucky encounter, and he will always be grateful for God giving him the beautiful moment he cherished with his loved ones. He just prays someday, they will accept him and his lover with open arms, just like his lover's family did the same to him.
