The Stars In Your Eyes

Outside, Bai Yutang's grandparents pointed at their grandson's face displayed on the big screen. More or less they know that Jian Kang Lu was the one who supported their grandson financially. They feel conflicted when they want to boast about their grandson's achievement in front of Lin Caihong and Jian Shen.

Bai Yuren was the one who didn't care about these kinds of things. She shouted, "Ah, can't believe my brother finally graduated. And from a prestigious university! I envy him.. I failed to be accepted here." Her tone is up and down, from exciting into regretting.

Lin Caihong is like this young girl. She was different from Bai Yutang who was calm and didn't say much in front of them. It's refreshing to talk to an active young girl. "Yes, Yutang is so smart.. You all must be proud of him. Even i feel proud of him even though he was not my birth son."

Bai Yutang's uncle was curious, he was a simple man but he knew doctors are one of the hardest faculty to study. "But your own son is a doctor, and graduated from here too. He must be smarter than Yutang." He blurted.

Lin Caihong laughed, "Ah Lu is smart, but sometimes it's not good to have a son that smart. If i talk to him about something, he will argue with me to defend his own opinion and never lose his argument. That little brat, don't be fooled with his appearance. If i had to compare, i prefer an obedient son like Yutang. I envy Yutang's parents."

They all know Bai Yutang truly an obedient child since he was little. He is also calm and takes care of the younger generation well. Never have they heard Bai Yutang being naughty or giving a headache to his parents. Truly a model filial son. Lin Caihong's comment burst the pride inside these people's hearts.

Jian Shen helped his wife, "Yutang is very smart, not losing a bit with my own son. It was not because my son is a doctor means he was smarter than Yutang. It was Yutang's choice to become an architect, right?"

Pairs of eyes look at Jian Shen. Bai Yuren was also curious, she thought Lin Caihong only talked politely since she knew Lin Caihong would be her brother's future in law. "How to compare the intellectual level between doctor and architect?"

Jian Shen speaking instead of his wife. "We have tradition in the family to oversee their thesis presentation rehearsal. Yutang's rehearsal with us is more pleasant. Ah Lu is a bit stubborn."

Lin Caihong laughed, "Yes. It gives me a headache every time Ah Lu starts to state his reasons. I also didn't understand medical terms clearly. It was not fun at all. I prefer Yutang. It was clear to us that Yutang loves his project, he pour so much effort on his project. Ah Lu wasn't like that, his only target to pass with good grades, but he lacked effort. That's why I told you sometimes to have a smart son like that is not good."

Mr. and Mrs. Lu asked this pair of husband and wife, "How about your second son, is he a doctor too? Or work in your company?"

Lu Hua's parents are simple minded people. When Jian Shen stated what he used to do before he retired, they only heard the CEO part. In their mind, the CEO is the same with owning the company. They didn't know that a CEO is a person hired by a company and shareholder to run the company. So they thought Jian Shen owned that company.

"My second son works as head of treasury in C bank." Jian Shen answered.

Bai Yutang's family didn't know what treasury does, but the word 'head of' and the name of C bank is enough to make them guess that this couple's second son is also a successful person.

"You must be happy that you manage to raise two wonderful and successful sons. What a wonderful parent to manage to do that." Mrs. Lu praised Lin Caihong. In this country, a son is preferred compared to a daughter. In this country, the standard of becoming a successful parent is when your son turns out to be smart and successful. Lin Caihong not only has one, but two bright sons. This is enough to make half of mothers in this country envy her.

"That was their own achievement. We as parents are only responsible for giving them a roof and education. The credit all belongs to them. We don't dare to claim that." Lin Caihong modestly answered.

In this term, Lin Caihong and Jian Shen have similar points of view. The achievement of their sons truly belongs to them, not to the parents. No matter how good the parents educate their children, if the child itself is not strong nor willing to work hard, then it is destined to fail. 

The more these people talk to this pair, the more they admire this couple. They didn't flaunt their wealth and achievement, were very modest and down to earth, they also knew a lot of things. 

These people rarely visit B city. This was even the first time for Mr. Bai to visit B city. So when this couple talk a lot about W city, they feel like meeting the same people from their town.

When immersed with these harmonious conversations, the ceremony is over. The hall's big door opened and the graduates walked out from the hall with their parents. Bai Yutang still took pictures inside with his friend. Jian Kang Lu walks out first with Lu Hua, guarding her from this crowd, wanting to deliver her to the family waiting outside.

"Jian Ge!!" A crisp sound of a young female heard from far. Mu Xiaoya ran across the sea of people, waving her hand frantically. Jian Kang Lu smiles and halts his step, waiting for Mu Xiaoya to approach them.

"Hello auntie." Mu Xiaoya greets Lu Hua. 

Lu Hua is a little bit confused. Jian Kang Lu could see Lu Hua was not familiar with Mu Xiaoya. He hurriedly introduced Mu Xiaoya to Lu Hua before his future mother in law thinking that Mu Xiaoya is Bai Yutang's girlfriend. "Auntie, this is Mu Xiaoya, TangTang's junior. She is Yu Dong's girlfriend."

"Ah, hello." Lu Hua was very familiar with Yu Dong, so she greeted this young lady with a polite smile.

They chat and walk together to the family waiting, and these people clearly confuse an additional young lady walking with them. Jian Kang Lu once again introduced Mu Xiaoya to these people, including his parents.

Mu Xiaoya looks at Jian Shen and Lin Caihong, then looks at Jian Kang Lu. She really wants to raise her four thumbs to Jian Kang Lu. As expected from her favourite CP and favourite gong. 'Smooth, very smooth Jian Ge! This is what I call a real man!' Mu Xiaoya screamed inside. Parents meeting, is this a step toward a dream wedding of her favourite CP???

Bai Yuren at first looked at Mu Xiaoya with hostility. Who is this girl who talks leisurely and looks at her brother in law with adoration in her eyes? Don't she know that Jian Kang Lu belongs to her brother. But after Jian Kang Lu introduces Mu Xiaoya, her hostility completely vaporize to the air.

Ten minutes later they saw Bai Yutang walking toward them. His temple was glistening with a thin layer of sweat. His eyes sparkling, and his lips curved, form a permanent bright smile on this happy day.

Jian Kang Lu felt his suit tugged down. He turned his head, and looked at his mother who pulled his suit. Lin Caihong brought her lips to her son's ear and whispered, "Control your eyes, do you want everyone here to know that you fall head over heels over their precious pearl?"

Jian Kang Lu smiled to hear his mother's warning. He knows she means well. He whispered back, "Don't you think your son in law is so handsome today? I can't help myself, but thank you for your warning, my dear beautiful mother."

Mu Xiaoya congratulated Bai Yutang and apologized for Ling Yue and the other can't come. Mu Xiaoya and Ling Yue have internships in B city, but different offices. Only Mu Xiaoya managed to skip her work today for a few hours since she did an internship in Yu Dong's office and Yu Dong will cover her.

After a polite chit chat, Mu Xiaoya offered to become the photographer for these people. After 5 minutes posing, Mu Xiaoya suggested to Bai Yutang to take the picture near their faculty. She dragged Jian Kang Lu together, while the others waited in their spot. It was not wise for the elder to walk under the scorching summer sun.

Jian Kang Lu is really grateful Mu Xiaoya is here today. Without her, he won't have a chance to take pictures just both of them. He really wants to have a picture with just both of them, while his kitten is wearing his graduation robe.

Jian Kang Lu wants to hold his kitten's shoulder in the picture, but he holds himself, afraid that his kitten's friends will have nasty idea in their mind. After a few pictures taken with that stiff pose, suddenly his kitten's hands circling his arms. Jian Kang Lu was stunned, and he looked at his kitten.

He saw that handsome bright face smiling at him. His pearly white teeth peeked shyly from behind those beautiful lips. His eyes curved, mesmerising. 

Mu Xiaoya didn't waste this opportunity, she quickly clicked the camera shutter in Jian Kang Lu's mobile phone. She was satisfied with the result. She then shouts at them to take another pose with that intimate posture. 

Jian Kang Lu's heart is still beating wildly. He tries to calm himself thinking with the wide age gap with his kitten, maybe these students around him who are taking pictures in their graduation robe will think that he was just a relative of his kitten.

Jian Kang Lu tries to be calm, but his face can't deny his happy mood. His handsomeness increased several levels. It was dazzling, even Mu Xiaoya sighed inside. She now can see how a couple in love will look much better. But maybe that only applied to this couple, since her face and Yu Dong still look the same.

Once Mu Xiaoya is satisfied, she shows this couple her amazing work. Most of the architecture students could take photographs well, including her. She proudly showed her favourite picture. It was a picture of Jian Kang Lu and Bai Yutang looking at each other with eyes full of love, when Bai Yutang circling his arms toward Jian Kang Lu's arms.

Their faces illuminated with yellow rays from the sun above. Bai Yutang hugged Jian Kang Lu's arms, and Jian Kang Lu's face clearly showed his adoration to the man beside him. Jian Kang Lu's smile is so gentle, while Bai Yutang's smile is so charming. Green bushes flustered behind them with mosaics of bricks from the architecture building as the background.

It's a splendid picture. Just like the radiant summer sun steps forth from the springtime, wrapping them in her warm and brilliant rays.
