The Stars In Your Eyes

The clock shows it almost 11 o'clock, 1 hour before midnight. The club is crowded now. The alcohol also kicked up Bai Yuren's brain. She rarely goes clubbing, but she liked it. The energy emitted from the people dance along the beat, the adrenaline rush enhanced with the playful lights, she loves the energy within.

She also liked the beautiful dressed fairies around. It was so different with her dull environment in medical faculty. When the sun came up, she had to study hard to maintain her grade for scholarship.

Only in few occasion she released all the pressure she had at days, watching the glittering life of night at the fullest. As if she didn't have anything to think of. Merge her soul and body to the surroundings' energy.

She remembers the first time she tasted alcohol.. YingYing paid for the beer, and they enjoy the overpriced beer at the club in W city. She likes how the alcohol lightens her body, flapping her invisible wings.

She can't dance well, but who cares. No one will look at them. They are young girls, but not that attractive.

But now, her future brother in law brings them to another level of this glittering world. The luxurious decor, the quality of music and the best sound system, the alcohol taste, all is very different from what she experienced before.

Inside her body, adrenaline and serotonin mixed into a whirlpool, dragged her to the highest expectation and experience.

Both of them excitedly stand up and walk toward Bai Yutang. She was not that drunk to leave alone without telling his brother.

"Gege, i'll go downstairs with YingYing." Bai Yuren half shouted.

Bai Yutang frowned. Fei Hong and Feng Mian laughed, and they also walked to Bai Yutang's side. "We'll go with them, don't worry."

Tang Yuxuan stood up, "Let me go with you also." He grabbed Fei Hong's hand. 

Bai Yutang and the other already know how possessive Tang Yuxuan can be. Bai Yutang sighed, "Okay, make sure you didn't separate from your JieJie." He only can let Bai Yuren go. It was unreasonable if he forbade her.

"Do you want to follow them, baby?" Jian Kang Lu whispered on Bai Yutang's ear. He could see his kitten keep looking at Bai Yuren even when Bai Yuren already disappear, walk out the door.

Bai Yutang shook his head, "No. I'm not comfortable with the loud music down there."

Song Lixia scoots herself and sits next to Bai Yutang. "Ah, so different from Jian Ge. He used to be the devil on the dance floor."

"Please don't spread an unreliable rumor. My TangTang is so pure, he will believe anything you say, even though it was a big fat lie. I'm such an innocent young man corrupted by your husband." Jian Kang Lu curved his lips and poured the tequila for Song Lixia.

"Shameless." Luo Yan waved his hand calling for the waiter, asking for them to mix another ice for his whiskey.

Liu Xiang, Yu Dong and Mu Xiaoya, didn't follow the crowd going downstairs. They are also the type of people who enjoy music but not the crowd. Without Zhen Guo, Liu Xiang's unrestrained nature popped up.

"Mrs. Song, please tell us the tale of Jian Ge's glorious days back then." Liu Xiang said mischievously.

"If you want to know his darkest era, I know the best." Sun Hongjia proudly presents himself. "Back then we could go bar hopping every week on holiday. No matter where we go, the bartender will remember Ah Lu's face and name immediately, and will warmly welcome him if he ever comes back to the same bar."

The youngsters widened their eyes and perked their ears high. This is like listening to bedtime stories, except they were not in bed right now.

"Why?" Mu Xiaoya asked excitedly.

Jian Kang Lu frowned, "Do you guys really need to slander me this way? Just because your wife is not here, you think you're safe?"

"You're the one who sold my darkest days' history to Lihua first. Now it's my time to pay you back." Sun Hongjia leans his body towards the youngsters and continues his story. "Every time Jian Kang Lu appears, we'll buy alcohol. But that's not why the bartender loves Jian Kang Lu. It was because he was like a flower attracting butterflies. All the guys sitting near to us will engage in conversation with us and keep drinking. He had the talent to talk with anyone. All the girls will sit near him and flirt with him. Most of the guys around us then will flaunt their wealth and treat the girls. That way, we are at the centre of alcohol's waves of order. The bartender which attended Jian Kang Lu happily achieved his target that night."

Bai Yutang's face is a little bit cold now. "Oh, flirting with girls.. I see.." His voice is soft, only Jian Kang Lu heard it. It triggered Jian Kang Lu's panic.

Song Lixia and Sun Hongjia laugh and don't care about his code to stop this conversation. They cruelly continue. "He also likes to dance on the dance floor. He could dance well, but most of the time if he is not really drunk, he will create weird dances and make us follow his style. He named the dance with weird names such as 'washing in the river' or 'monkey pick the banana', and the girls who try to do their best with shaking their hips eventually even follow his moves. It was so chaotic. If you see him dance well along the music, it's a sign he's already drunk."

Bai Yutang's eyes now freeze and stare at his lover. Jian Kang Lu could only put his hands on his kitten's ear, sheltering his eardrum from this dark history, "Enough, i never flirt with the girls." He tries to maintain his dignity.

"Oh yeah? Then why do I remember you didn't hesitate to exchange your phone number with them back then?" Luo Yan and Song Lixia blurt in unison. They laugh so loud to see Jian Kang Lu's face.

This is the first time, and their only chance for revenge on this devil. Previously Jian Kang Lu never cared about his image in front of his exes, or his bunch of admirers. Bai Yutang truly is the Achilles heel for their beloved friend.

Jian Kang Lu himself now experienced what he called karma. He used to be the main speaker of his friend's dark history revealer. Never occurred in his mind that one day he will experience the same thing.

"I'm not like that, TangTang.." He cautiously coaxes his kitten.

Liu Xiang laughed. Even though his best friend has a boyfriend instead of a girlfriend, it was good to see that his best friend at least treated properly. "TangTang, at least Jian Ge was the one who desperately asked for your number, instead of you pursuing Jian Ge." He teased Bai Yutang in a loud voice.

"Yes! Besides, I'm old now. Who wants my number nowadays. It was you who I needed to guard well. My boyfriend is so handsome, so many insects will come to you if I don't keep you well." Jian Kang Lu silently said his thanks to Liu Xiang.

"Then, Jian Ge thought Feng Mian was also an insect?" Mu Xiaoya blinked innocently.

Jian Kang Lu speechless. Why did he become the roasting object tonight? "Why don't we look downstairs, did your sister do well? Come." He tried to divert his kitten's attention and brought him to sit next to the glass wall.

"Henpecked!" Sun Hongjia shouted and laughed with Luo Yan.

Jian Kang lu calmly replied, "As fellow henpecked, we should not berate each other."

Bai Yutang knew it was in the past. But he can't help to regret why he didn't born sooner and met Jian Kang Lu in his youth. 

"Baby, don't be angry.. It was just their joke.." Jian Kang Lu whispered while kneading his palm. Bai Yutang resentfully whispered back, "I know, but i wish i was there so you never meet all those beautiful girls." Then he added, "And guys." He still remembers the dazzling Wu Shen, Jian Kang Lu's ex boyfriend.

Jian Kang Lu touched, but then he remembered, when he was having those wild days, his kitten not yet even in elementary school. If he meets his kitten sooner, then he will be a paedophilia for sure. He can't help to shiver and his cold sweat dropped on his back.

They drink and chat while looking at the crowd down there, trying to see where Bai Yuren and the others stand. One hour later, a few minutes after midnight, Bai Yutang's phone vibrated. It was a phone call from Bai Yuren.

"Gege, please come down here." Her voice a bit panicked.

Bai Yutang abruptly stands up and half runs towards the door. Jian Kang Lu of course noticed his pale face and followed his kitten. He held his hand and calmed his kitten. "Is it a call from RenRen? Let's go down together."

Both of them ran downstairs, and didn't even leave an explanation for the people inside the room. The club is so crowded, but Bai Yuren, still on the line, anxiously told them that they stood near the bar on the left stage.

Once Bai Yutang and Jian Kang Lu reached there, they saw Tang Yuxuan and Fei Hong fiercely shouting to a group of men and women around their twenties. They looked like university students or fresh graduates. The same age group with Tang Yuxuan and others.

Jian Kang Lu still holds his kitten's hand and moves forward, "What's going on, RenRen?"
