The Stars In Your Eyes

Days went by. Sometimes it's peaceful, sometimes it isn't. Here and there, Bai Yutang receives the same evil look and laugh thrown at him. The words were ambiguous, which made Bai Yutang can't pinpoint the wrong of them.

Bai Yutang met his friends at least once a month. There, he heard many things happened in other offices. It seems his case with Zhong Fan happened everywhere. Yu Dong also went through it.

"You better mention some of the things you designed to your superior. Give him hints here and there about your own design. Pretend to ask him for advice." Yu Dong told him.

"But my work is divided by my teammates, because I'm the most junior member. My boss basically just divides the work into three of them, and they will assign the tasks to me. So even though i want to ask, i need to ask them, not my boss." Bai Yutang said in a low voice. He plays with his noodles, and has no appetite to eat.

"What a bad system. It allows them to bully you." Liu Xiang shook his head.

Lucky for Liu Xian who works in Zhen Guo's office, the tasks are distributed by their superior directly, thus he didn't go through this kind of thing. But he still has problems with the senior who seem to envy his looks. Keep saying that he depends on his looks to cheer the client up. Especially female clients.

For Tang Yuxuan, the problem lay with his temper. He didn't like it when the client was fussy and said harsh things to him. If this happens, he is supposed to smile and apologise, then try to cater to the client's need, revise the design to suit their taste. 

But Tang Yuxuan's pride didn't allow him to put on a fake smile. He was not wrong, his design is better compare to what the client's want, but those attitude won't work in real life. Even big architect like Zhen Guo still need to cater what the client's need.

Because architects didn't build something for themselves, they built something for their client. Make their client's dream come true, not their own dream.

It needs an advanced ability to socialize to be a good architect. In this term, Bai Yutang, who was not great with talking but has a massive amount of patience, is having no trouble either with pacifying the clients or persuading the vendors and contractors to give them cheaper price and better materials.

Liu Xiang is the winner above all in this matter. "Daddy, you just need to imagine delicious food you want to eat later when you pacify your client. Don't be sour and just imagine how tasty the wagyu meat Jian Ge treated us last time. The tender and savory meat, the smell, and the beer! TangTang, when will Jian Ge treat us at that steak restaurant again?" He said that with sparkling eyes like a boy missed his maiden fairy.

Even though all of them are already working and have their own salary, living in B city is expensive, and they still need to save their money for future needs. Especially Tang Yuxuan and Yu Dong, who planned to get married next year.

Bai Yutang felt his bad mood alleviated and laughed, "You can ask gege by yourselves." He said to Liu Xiang.

Yu Dong, the most gluttonous among them, said in high spirit. "Next week? Can Mu Xiaoya join too?"

"Shameless! Using Jian Ge's money to date your girlfriend!" Tang Yuxuan shouted.

Yu Dong laughed, "TangTang didn't mind, why do you mind?" 

Most of the time Bai Yutang meets his friends, Jian Kang Lu will pick him up after his practice, and he will pay for their dinner if these groups haven't paid yet. Today was no exception. 

Bai Yutang felt his ribs jabbed by Yu Dong and he saw Jian Kang Lu walk into the restaurant. He smiled once he noticed Bai Yutang looking at him.

The light grey shirt fit his body perfectly, with the black stripe on his collar and sleeves emphasizing his white skin. His short hair frames his temple and shows the long slender neck. Somehow, even though his neck is slender, it didn't look feminine at all. The long black pants made his legs look longer, and his smile bloomed like a bright sun on a perfect day.

No matter how many times Bai Yutang looked at this man, he always felt God is not fair. The other people in the restaurant also notice his man, and some can't help to stare a little bit more. 

"It's a mystery why Jian Ge's body is still so good at his age, look at my tummy." Liu Xiang jabbed his own stomach. Since he started to work, he rarely plays basketball and his six pack abs now start to lose the lines.

Jian Kang Lu walks while locking his sight to his kitten. He sat next to his kitten and greeted the others.

How he wished he could put his hand on his kitten's shoulder then kiss his kitten's soft cheek, just like any other man out there when they meet their beloved girlfriend. But he still minds the manner in the public, even though he unrestrained his manner when they went with his own parents and friends.

He even proudly smiled when they accused him of bullying his kitten, and told him that he changed into a clingy uncle. 

"I can't help it. My young boyfriend is so cute and handsome." He shamelessly replied.

But in front of public eyes, at least the most he can do is just hold his kitten's hand. He is satisfied with that for now, and dare not dream bigger.

"Jian Geeee.." Liu Xiang coquettishly blinked his big eyes. 

Jian Kang Lu raised one of his eyebrows, then threw a questioned face to his kitten.

Bai Yutang laughed and called for the waiter, "Order some food first, gege. Why didn't you call me? I could order first before you came."

"I forgot, hurriedly come here to meet you sooner." Jian Kang Lu calmly replied.

Yu Dong rolled his eyes, "Please Jian Ge. Don't abuse us!"

"I'm okay with that, Jian Ge. Abuse me more, please." Liu Xiang said.

Jian Kang Lu laughed, "Okay, which restaurant do you want me to treat you to, Liu Xiang?"

Liu Xiang's eyes brightened and listed a few restaurants he wanted to visit. Next week is the end of month, a perfect time to mooch a free meal.

They were busy chatting to decide which restaurant they wanted to go to next week. "I will treat you wherever you want, but you need to take care of my TangTang when I go abroad next week." Jian Kang Lu said. 

He needed to go to Italy for one week, and he was afraid his kitten would be lonely and didn't eat well. He planned to get at least one of them to stay at the apartment to accompany his kitten.

"Where do you want to go, Jian Ge? Next week? Then should we postpone the dinner?" Yu Dong asked.

"Venice. I'll go next Sunday, so we can have dinner on Friday. Yu Dong, how about you stay at my apartment with TangTang?" Jian Kang Lu tried his luck with Yu Dong since he was his kitten's ex roommate.

"Okay, but don't forget to bring me some things from Venice." Yu Dong said.

Bai Yutang tried to get used to his lover treating him like a toddler. Most of the time, he didn't mind. But some of it, like now, it embarrassed him. His wicked lover directly asked Yu Dong in front of him, and his friend also agreed without thinking. This makes him can't refute his lover.

It doesn't mean he didn't like Yu Dong to stay with him. And honestly, he also felt his mood sinking last week when he learned that his lover will go to Venice for one week. Going back home to an empty apartment at this time when he is also suppressed at work, is really a bad situation for him. 

Everyday he manages to go through the uncomfortable atmosphere at work because he could see his lover everyday. 

Bai Yutang didn't realise this is what made Jian Kang Lu ask someone to accompany his kitten. He could see his kitten was losing weight in this last week. He was worried about his kitten being alone. His kitten is not someone who rattled about his hardship, instead what his kitten often told him is the good story.

Jian Kang Lu hates it the most if someone keeps complaining about their work. It seems once he told his kitten about this, years ago when he still pursued his kitten. In Jian Kang Lu's mind, complaining about your work once in a while is okay. But if they keep complaining, it only shows their incompetence.

Rather than complaining, why don't they use the energy to change the things they aren't comfortable with? Every work has it's negative side. Ask everyone, did they always have bright sunny days at work? No. That's why we get paid.

But.. This is his beloved kitten. He wants to hear the good and bad things about him and his life, a life which Jian Kang Lu can't see. 

It was different with Wu Shen, since he kept rattling about him being rejected again and again when casted for movies and drama. Wu Shen also worried about his work being reduced since he started getting old. This led to Jian Kang Lu buying the store, which Wu Shen returned to him almost three years ago.

With Zhang Min, they worked in the same hospital. Good or bad things, he could hear and sometimes see it directly. 

But it was a whole different thing with his kitten. How Jian Kang Lu wished he could go back and didn't tell his kitten honestly about what he likes and doesn't like. Although Jian Kang Lu can guess it won't change anything. Just like when his kitten hid from all of them three years ago, his kitten was a type of person who didn't want to show his weakness, nor his misery.

Jian Kang Lu sighed inside. It was good to have this kind of lover. But.. But.. But he wants to know everything about his kitten! And.. He wished his kitten could depend more on him. Even though he could not present the moon and stars to his kitten, he wished his kitten would ask for it, and he could try harder to make his precious kitten love him even more.

For this bright young handsome man he loved the most, won't be able to leave him forever in this life.
