The Stars In Your Eyes

Bai Yutang is the first man Feng Mian truly liked. At first, she was charmed by his elegant looks and his inattentive gaze. All the guys used to look at her with awe. Bai Yutang is the only man who never laid his eyes on her. He was very calm, and also cute.

Unlike those stupid man who only can flaunt their parent's money, Bai Yutang act very humble. Even though all his things are expensive, it was the branded things with the hidden logo, or a very subtle one. If people don't know, they will think it was just ordinary clothes or shoes. Bai Yutang also never shows his money to them, instead he always says he needs to save his money.

The more Feng Mian talks to him, and knows his personality, the deeper she falls. She never feels this way to anyone before. That's why she was jolted in happiness from Fei Hong's words that day.

Fei Hong just came back from her 'date' with Tang Yuxuan. Feng Mian already knew that Fei Hong liked this handsome man since they got closer from their internship time in summer. Fei Hong jumped to her bed and excitedly said, "Feng Mian, i have good news for you!"

Feng Mian was reading her novels on her tablet, and surprised to hear that loud voice in her ear. Fei Hong rarely shouts. One of the reasons Feng Mian became best friends with her is because Fei Hong is a calm girl.

"What? Tang Yuxuan asked you to be his girlfriend?"

Fei Hong frowned to hear that, "No, I said good news for you. Not for me."

"If you're happy, then it was good news for me." Feng Mian teased Fei Hong, poke her cheeks.

Fei Hong pinched Feng Mian's cheek back. "No, silly girl! It's about Bai Yutang, your white moonlight1."

Feng Mian was confused, does her best friend just want to pour salt upon her bleeding heart? It was not like her. Feng Mian turned her eyes back to her novel, answering Fei Hong with a sulky voice. 

"What? I told you he had someone he liked."

Fei Hong's naughty smile, who was rare to be seen, bloomed, and her naughty tone was heard in Feng Mian's ear. Whispered to her, like telling her a big secret.

"Guess what? Tang Yuxuan told me that Bai Yutang didn't have someone he liked. He was just too shy. And he was trying to focus on his study. Did you know that he took a scholarship for this year? Turns out since his father died, he needed to save every penny left by his father."

Feng Mian who flipped the next page of her novel was stunned, immediately turning her eyes back to her best friend.

"Really?"

But then Feng Mian remembers the first rejection she ever experienced, and turns her eyes dejectedly back to her novel. 

"It doesn't matter, he doesn't like me."

Fei Hong laughed, she could see clearly that her best friend was infatuated with this skinny man, though she still could not understand why her beautiful friend like her ordinary classmate.

"Really? You don't want to try again? Or because Bai Yutang is a scholarship student?"

Feng Mian abruptly pinched her waist, "Do you think i was that shallow? It was better for me if he was a scholarship student. It means he was a hardworking person, and responsible. But for what? He doesn't like me."

Fei Hong grimaced, her best friend's power sometimes didn't match her gentle and shy appearance. Why her fingers are so strong when she pinched on her, or when she slapped her back.

"Ouch! Stop it! Seriously, who could reject our Goddess, who is famous in the whole campus? Your fans club will kill chopped Bai Yutang into pieces if they ever know that you fancy him this much."

Fei Hong smiled to see her best friend pouting her mouth and her childish voice lingered in this room when she said, "You're my best friend, of course you will only say good things to me."

Feng Mian was so cute and pretty. She was also smart, and very sweet. Fei Hong can't understand why this ungrateful brat of Bai Yutang dares to reject her best friend. 

"So, do you want to try again? Tang Yuxuan said they will support you wholeheartedly if you want to. They said Bai Yutang is just a shy guy, and dare not to think that you really liked him."

Feng Mian stared at her tablet, but she couldn't read any words in it. 

'Is it true?'

'Do i have a chance?'

'How if he said those words because he didn't like me?'

'Will he reject me again?'

Fei Hong looks at her best friend's face, who shows many expressions. Clearly this girl likes Bai Yutang so much. Fei Hong even could sense Feng Mian's hostility towards Ling Yue when she was rejected at that time.

"It wasn't like you. The Feng Mian I know is always confident, and always does her best. The Feng Mian I know is a girl who knows what she wants, and tried her best to get what she wants."

Feng Mian hugged her best friend's waist when she heard those words. It was her actual words when she introduced herself to Fei Hong when they became roommates four years ago. She snuggled on her best friend's waist, and felt her best friend ruffling her hair.

"Don't act like a child, you know it won't work on me."

Feng Mian grinned, and looked at Fei Hong.

"You're right, it was not my style to admit my defeat before i tried. If Tang Yuxuan really said that Bai Yutang was just shy, then I have to be the one that makes him forget his shyness and pursue me back."

With that promise from Tang Yuxuan, they start to hang out often with these boys. Most of the time they hang out in the cafeteria, have their lunch together. As promised, they always let her sit next to Bai Yutang. And most of the time, they tried to stir the conversation to show their support for her and Bai Yutang to be a couple.

Only Mu Xiaoya who seems to throw her hostile looks to her and Bai Yutang every time they talked together. It really confused her, why Mu Xiaoya need to be that fierce to her? But Fei Hong assure her that it was because Mu Xiaoya was jealous with her.

"Honestly, every girl will be jealous of you. Especially when you dress this well. You even wear contact lenses and these tight jeans every time you go out for lunch together with them." Fei Hong said nonchalantly when Feng Mian was lamenting that Mu Xiaoya was very scary.

"Do you think so? Maybe I should try a different image, clearly Bai Yutang didn't look at me at all with this outfit. Maybe he was into a shy and sweet girl? Then tomorrow i'll wear my skirts."

Fei Hong just waved her hand, a sign that she doesn't care about Feng Mian's outfit. It doesn't matter what Feng Mian wears anyway, she always looks stunning and beautiful. Even that cheap sweater from the bazaar will look like a branded sweater when she wears it.

Tonight, at Christmas dinner, when Feng Mian saw Bai Yutang wear a light blue sweater, she was rejoiced, and whispered to Fei Hong excitedly.

"We're wearing similar outfits! Just like a true couple! Oh, he looks so handsome tonight."

Fei Hong smiled to hear that. Her best friend looks mature, people won't believe that she was actually a very sweet girl that didn't have much experience in a true relationship. Her best friend is an expert when she rejects the boy's confession, very smooth and kind. Except when she rejected that asshole from business management that kept bothering them.

But in real relationships between man and woman, Feng Mian is just a naive girl. For example, Fei Hong didn't understand from which side Feng Mian could see Bai Yutang's handsomeness? All Fei Hong could see is a skinny boy with an ordinary face, sitting over there.

For the man beside him, that's what you called a handsome man. Fei Hong asked Feng Mian about that.

"Did you see the man beside your white moonlight? That face is what we called handsome. Don't you think so? He's a doctor. Can you believe it?"

Feng Mian frowned, and whispered back to Fei Hong's ear.

"You're so blind. That man is okay, I can see that you're so charmed with him. But my TangTang is a thousand time more handsome than him."

Fei Hong speechless. Love really has the capability of turning a perfect vision into blindness if it comes to the person who holds your heart. 

Fei Hong decided to relay Feng Mian's words to Tang Yuxuan and Liu Xiang, that Feng Mian was happy that today she and Bai Yutang wore similar outfits. Tang Yuxuan and Liu Xiang didn't disappoint Fei Hong at all, and acted swiftly to stir the conversation about Bai Yutang and Fei Hong's matched outfit.

When the God comes, Fei Hong forgets about her best friend, and just sweats profusely. She knew that she was asking Jian Kang Lu to let him introduce her to Zhen Guo. But she can't believe that Jian Kang Lu really fulfills his promise. She was so happy, and felt all of these things happening tonight is unreal.

Feng Mian is of course very happy. She tried to place a few foods on Bai Yutang's plate, and he didn't reject her. She also tries to make a light conversation with him, and ask him a few light questions about the Sun Group. 

She can't believe that Bai Yutang really knows Sun Hongjia, the owner of S group. This only makes her admire this man even more. She knew that this is the thing she liked about Bai Yutang. 

Even though he knows Sun Hongjia, he doesn't try to flaunt and tell everyone about that. If this was other people, they would brag that they know Sun Hongjia, even if it was just a brief meeting. But Bai Yutang didn't say a word about that. Truly a humble man.

When the dinner was almost over, they prepared to say goodbye. Feng Mian was surprised these groups didn't intend to take pictures together. But remembering Bai Yutang's empty moments in social media, Feng Mian could understand.

"Excuse me, could i take pictures together with you? It was such a wonderful dinner. It would be my pleasure if I could have a memento about tonight in pictures together with all of you."

These people look at Feng Mian's smile. That smile is really bewitching. It looks so pure, with a hint of plead and hope. They will feel like a cruel person if they ever reject this kind of smile.

"Sure!" Luo Jiao smiled and sat back to her seat. They call the waiter to take pictures of them together.

Feng Mian tried to sit as close as she could to Bai Yutang. She could smell his scent this way. And she really likes this man's scent. What is this scent? So gentle, soothes her nerves, but also masculine at the same time. 

This man really makes her want to be his. She was infatuated with him. Head over heels in love.
